That evening, Rosendo returned home very late. Before leaving, he caused quite a stir because he was carrying two bags with him. One bag contained alcohol and beverages, while the other bag was filled with various delicacies. Rosendo wanted to bring them back for Vanessa to enjoy.
People who come here have a minimum net worth of several millions so they would never take leftovers home like people from his background would do; it's a matter of face. That's why they were so surprised to see Rosendo carrying two bags back home and labeled him as stingy.
When he arrived at the party earlier, Johanna had driven him there in her car. However, during the gathering, something happened that upset Johanna and Rosendo had no choice but to take public transportation back.
After returning to their residence, Rosendo found Vanessa slumped over the table with vacant eyes, lost in thought.
"Vanessa, I'm back," called out Rosendo.
Upon hearing his familiar voice, Vanessa stood up happily and sweetly exclaimed: "Rosendo! Where on earth did you go? You came back so late! Don't you know how worried I was?"
Rosendo placed the two bags he was carrying onto the table and reached out to touch Vanessa's head affectionately before smiling and saying: "Didn't I leave a little note on the table? You didn't miss it by any chance."
"I saw it but still... don't come back this late again. I'll worry about you," cautioned Vanessa concernedly. She had heard rumors that there were often thugs roaming around this area at night looking for victims.
"Alright! I got it. From now on, I won't come back this late anymore." Then changing the subject quickly he said: "By the way look what I brought for you." And one by one he took out all the things he had brought back.
"Wow! Did you buy all of these? I heard that these things are quite expensive. You've spent too much," exclaimed Vanessa, a mix of joy and concern on her face.
"Hehe... don't worry! I didn't spend a penny on any of this. It was all free because Tyson covered all the expenses at the party I attended. So everything I brought back is complimentary," Rosendo said with a big smile.
"What about the dishes I made?" Vanessa pointed to the cold dishes on the table, which she had prepared while waiting for Rosendo. They were now completely untouched.
"You eat what I brought back, and I'll eat what you cooked. That's settled," replied Rosendo. Seeing that none of the food on the table had been touched, he knew that Vanessa hadn't eaten anything since she was waiting for him. He couldn't bear to disappoint her kindness, so even if it was cold, he would still eat it.
Vanessa couldn't bear to let Rosendo eat cold food either; she put away what she had cooked in the kitchen and planned to heat it up as breakfast tomorrow morning. Such is life for people from humble backgrounds - eating leftovers is commonplace.
Since Rosendo ate too much today, he shared with Vanessa everything that happened during his day while eating. When Vanessa heard about Rosendo's desire to start a business, she became extremely happy because she believed that having such aspirations meant that success wasn't far away for him.
Vanessa also told Rosendo about what happened earlier in Miranda's group; they were feeling down tonight simply because they couldn't see him.
The next day, in the morning, Rosendo did not go to school with Vanessa again because he went to pick up the goods. Last night, he ordered twenty mobile phones from Buckle, some of which were cheap and worth a few hundred , while others were high-end and worth several thousand. In addition, Rosendo also ordered more than thirty sets of clothes for girls from Lytton. They were all very beautiful and cute ones that Rosendo personally selected.
Rosendo first went to the computer city and bought a laptop for around three thousand . He had no choice but to save money because he didn't have much at the moment. After buying the laptop, Rosendo took a bus to Buckle's cellphone store. When he arrived there, he saw Buckle waiting for him at the entrance.
"Buckle, are you waiting for me?" Rosendo joked.
"Of course," Buckle smiled.
"Come on in and have a cup of tea before we chat," Buckle said politely.
"No time for tea, I still have other things to do later." Rosendo smiled.
"Alright then, wait here. I'll bring you the phones you wanted," Buckle said as he turned around and entered his cellphone store. When he came out again, he was carrying a big box in his hands.
After receiving it from him, Rosendo handed over thirty thousand in cash that had already been prepared to Buckle. Unexpectedly, Buckle refused to accept it and told Rosendo to sell all these phones first before giving him the money back if they couldn't be sold. The reason why Buckle did this was because of Willie's evaluation of Rosendo; they were gambling just like Willie that if Rosendo succeeded, they would benefit from his care.
Although this was kind-hearted of Buckle,Rosendodid not agree with it;he insisted on giving the money to Buckle. Unable to resist Rosendo's persistence, Buckle reluctantly accepted it.
After meeting with Buckle, Rosendo prepared to go to Nicolas's house. Although he had some money now, he didn't want to give up this tutoring job for the time being. After all, they didn't have much to do at night and earning more money wouldn't hurt.
When Rosendo taught Miranda and others how to play the piano, he never kept anything for himself; he earnestly taught them everything he knew. Rosendo intentionally wanted to cultivate Miranda and change society's perception of music during that era.
Days passed by uneventfully, and Rosendo and Vanessa's life became better day by day; smiles were always on their faces.
However, although they were in a good mood, the weather was not so pleasant. The rain had been getting heavier these days and gradually turned into a storm with strong winds.
In order to ensure student safety, New Mountain University had no choice but to suspend classes and give students a one-week break. As for going to Nicolas's house for tutoring,Rosendo still insisted on going there, but he did not allow Vanessa togowith him.He was worried about her safety,so he insisted on letting her stay at home.
With such heavy rain and strong wind, most people would not dare drive because they were afraid of objects falling from above while driving. It might be fine if something hit the car,but what they feared most was causing an accident due to sudden braking when unableto avoid obstacles.
Fearing this as well,Rosendo decided to walk to Nicolas 's house. It was fortunate that his house wasn't too far away;it took him only half an hour walk there.
On the way to Nicolas's house, Rosendo would pass by a wide river. The river was similar to the sea because there were no tall buildings or mountains nearby to block the wind. So whenever there was a strong wind, this river would have waves just like the sea.
