Chapter 11 - Well-paid Tutor

At seven o'clock in the evening, Rosendo and Vanessa arrived at Nicolas's house on time.

"Ring ring ring..."

This time it was Rosendo who rang the doorbell. "It must be Rosendo coming," Miranda's joyful voice came from inside even before the door opened.

When the door finally opened, Rosendo saw a group of girls standing at the entrance, all looking at him with strange eyes. "Miranda, is this your home? Am I in the wrong place?" Rosendo asked suspiciously.

"Rosendo, you're not lost. Come on in!" Miranda warmly pulled Rosendo into her house.

Letha stood up when she saw Rosendo and Vanessa arrive and greeted them with a smile. "You're here! Have some fruit first before we start our lesson."

Rosendo didn't hesitate to sit down on the sofa, crossed his legs and picked up an orange from the table. He peeled it and gave half to Vanessa. While eating his orange, he asked Letha: "Are you guys having a party?"

Letha covered her mouth and chuckled: "Hahaha... no! Actually they all came just to see you. Who told you that you could be so handsome? Look how these little girls are fascinated by you."

"What?! They came just to see me because I'm handsome? Am I some kind of rare animal?" Rosendo was surprised.

"Miranda, he's really handsome." One of Miranda's female classmates whispered to her.

"Of course he is! If he wasn't handsome would I have hired him as my tutor?" Miranda proudly said in a low voice while looking at Rosendo.

"Do you know how old he is?" Another female classmate asked Miranda.

"I didn't ask but judging by his appearance he can't be that old. Besides, someone like him is perfect for us, right? My mom and her friends always say that when looking for a boyfriend or husband, it's best to find someone older because they will take care of you." Miranda said to her classmates while looking at Rosendo.

"Since they're all here, how can I teach?" Rosendo asked Letha.

Miranda was quick to answer in a coquettish voice: "Then let's teach together! After all, they are all rich kids." She turned to her classmates and asked: "Right?"

"Yes yes! We're willing to pay 500 per hour just like Miranda!" Her classmates agreed one after another. Judging from their attire, it was clear that they came from wealthy families.

With five students plus Miranda herself, Rosendo could earn 3,000 per hour. This kind of payment was not ordinary at all. For Rosendo who needed money badly, this was like manna from heaven.

"I have no problem with that but you should tell your family first so they won't worry about you being out so late," Rosendo kindly suggested.

"No problem." Miranda's classmates took out their phones and called their families one by one.

After a while, everyone had talked with their families and received permission to stay with Miranda until the end of the lesson. They even promised to learn piano together with Miranda because she told them that Rosendo played better than any piano master which explained his high fee.

Rosendo stood up and said to Miranda and her friends, "If there's nothing else, let's get started!"

"Great!" The lively girls followed Rosendo into Miranda's room.

In Miranda's room, her classmates sat on the sofa curiously watching Rosendo. "Today I will teach you how to play '. I'll play it first and then teach you," said Rosendo.

Upon hearing that Rosendo was going to play the piano again, Letha hurried into her daughter's room and sat at the bedside with excitement waiting for his performance. She had to admit that when Rosendo played the piano he looked particularly handsome, and his playing was especially beautiful. Watching him play was a kind of enjoyment.

The beautiful sound of the piano once again filled the air. This time, Rosendo's fingers danced slowly on the keys as if they were in no hurry. Those who listened felt like they were under his spell; happy or sad depending on what he wanted them to feel.

Although Rosendo played beautifully, none of Miranda's friends smiled; instead tears welled up in their eyes because his music was too melancholic.

After finishing , Rosendo noticed that all of Miranda's friends had red eyes - women truly are emotional creatures!

"To achieve an effect like mine is actually quite simple: just rely on your own feelings when playing; adjust your emotions to sadness while playing and you can achieve this kind of effect," explained Rosendo.

"That was so beautiful! Can you please play another one?" Letha still seemed unsatisfied with only one song.

"Yeah! Yeah! Please play another one for us!" chimed in Miranda as well.

"But...I came here to teach you how to play not just perform for you guys." Despite having received so much money from them without teaching anything yet made him feel embarrassed about performing more songs now.

"Oh okay then...I got lost in your music. I won't listen anymore, you teach them now! I'll go make some coffee for you," Letha awkwardly stood up and said. She had learned yesterday that Rosendo liked coffee.

"Thank you," said Rosendo.

After Letha left, Rosendo began teaching Miranda and her friends how to play the piano using interesting methods that made them listen attentively. By 10 o'clock, they had all learned the song that Rosendo had taught them. Letha was also present during the lesson and was amazed by Rosendo's unconventional but effective teaching methods. She was happy to have such a talented person like him teach her daughter how to play the piano.
