Bruce was thrilled with Lyle's efforts of getting an appointment with Mishka.
"To think that I met her before you, but you got her name before me," he commented in an amused tone when he and Lyle discussed the possibilities for Mishka's visit.
"Well, you didn't ask her name in the woods because it wasn't that kind of setting. Everything was unexpected and spontaneous," Lyle responded.
"Yes, you're right. It was unusual. A bit of a charmed moment. Almost unreal," Bruce responded, nodding at Lyle with his eyebrows raised. He wanted Lyle to know that he was not joking.
"Lucky for you," Lyle responded with a smile.
They were at the indoor poolside planning a Spring swimwear show. Some models dressed in bikinis and gowns were parading along the side of the pool.
The pool area was warm in the evening, because of the air conditioning. The water in the swimming pool was warm as well so, some models were swimming happily.
"It would have been great if she could have spent this Saturday evening here already," Bruce remarked with a longing look in his eyes.
"I don't think that she would have dared to come here twice on one day. Perhaps in the future," Lyle responded.
"Although it would have been wonderful to see her in one of these dresses which are draped over the swimsuits," he added.
"Oh, yes. So, you really think that it was a good idea for me to incorporate the Egyptian style for the pool wear?" Bruce asked as he studied the models intently.
"It's a very good and original idea. It will catch on soon, just you watch. Orders will rush in soon after the launch," Lyle commented with a satisfied grin.
"Oh, now I remember. Mishka was already here for an evening visit this week. So, you're right. It would have been too much for her to make another visit so soon. She doesn't look like the type to overdo anything," Bruce commented.
"Unlike Jean who knows you for a long time," Lyle remarked. "So, did she just accept the situation as it was? Didn't she want to make up for not catching a fashion show after all?" he asked, turning to Bruce.
"She wasn't happy at all, but she was caught too off-guard to suggest attending the next show. She wanted to spend the rest of the weekend here as consolation instead," Bruce responded.
"So, you told her that I was leaving tonight," Lyle remarked. "Let's hope that she doesn't have a spy around here to fill her in on what's really happening here," he added as he scanned the area around him.
"Even if she does, we can always say that something happened and so there was a change in plans. I can say whatever I like. She has no right over me or my home," Bruce responded with an angry smirk.
"Let's hope that she doesn't decide to check things out for herself by coming through the woods and checking out your bedroom window again," Lyle remarked with a serious look in his eyes.
"I don't have any such fear. We were there yesterday to warn her against that and I know that she won't risk having us go back there again," Bruce responded with a smile.
"You're right. Don't let her spoil your moment. Mishka could be on your doorstep someday soon. I hope it's while I'm still here, otherwise you will have to fill me in on all the details in my absence," Lyle remarked.
"Are you guys still gushing about that girl?" Dolores, Lyle's wife remarked from behind them.
"Oh, of course. I have to see that my cousin has a good lady on his arm for a change," Lyle responded with a smile as he glanced at his wife who was also wearing an Egyptian style long dress.
"I think those dancers will feel flattered that you so spontaneously adopted their idea of Egyptian fashion," Dolores commented as she looked at the models.
"Yes, they would," Lyle agreed, "Bruce does not waste time when he has a new idea on his mind," he added with a proud grin in Bruce's direction.
"So, are you gonna take a break tomorrow?" Dolores asked Bruce.
"Oh, yes definitely. I don't really work on Sundays," Bruce responded with a laugh.
"It would have been great if you could have invited the girl for tea tomorrow," Dolores remarked as she sat down in a pool recliner next to the men.
"Lyle is the one who invited her. He didn't mention any specific day," Bruce responded with a grin in his cousin's direction.
"I suppose he's also been out of the game for too long. He clearly has no idea about how to make a date anymore," Dolores remarked with a chuckle.
"So, actually that means that she will have to pick a date for coming again? That means that we're expecting her to take the initiative again. What if it takes her ages to summon up the guts to phone and invite herself over?" Lyle asked.
"That's true. Can't you change the situation by making another call to her in a few days' time? Invite her over for something specific, then she doesn't feel as if she's put on the spot?" Dolores suggested.
"Oh, now that makes more sense. Where would we be without you? We had no sense between the two of us," Bruce responded with a nervous chuckle.
"A very good idea, but now there'll be the rejection factor involved. You'll be throwing the ball in her court," Lyle commented.
"It's only fair. Otherwise she's going to feel like someone who is forward in inviting herself over on an official visit," Dolores remarked. "It would have been nice if she could have been invited to view these costumes at the pool tonight," she added with a sigh.
"Well, there's always next time when she will be used to coming here," Bruce responded.
"Well, she's not here tonight, but she was here today. We invited her back and she promised to return. We also had a successful video recording session and an informal show tonight, so I would say that there's a lot to celebrate.
Let's get the champagne and start a party," Lyle suggested as he nodded at Dolores and Bruce each in turn.
"Definitely! Let's tell the models," Bruce agreed with a happy grin on his face.
"Great, so, it's a models and designer party only tonight. A great way to close off our visit here," Dolores agreed happily.
"Wonderful! Then we can get to know our new models a little bit better. Have you found out which ones amongst them are elusive wolves?" Bruce asked close to Lyle's ear.
"No, but I have my suspicions. I don't know why they're secretive about their identities. It's not as if people around here discriminate against wolves," Lyle commented.
"All we know is that they're from Poland," Dolores responded with a curious look in her eyes as she looked at the models who were posing for photos amongst themselves.
"I don't think that they're out to cause any trouble here. I think they're just trying to feel their way around safely. One doesn't always know whom to trust," Bruce remarked in response.
On the inside, his stomach was nervous at the idea of asking Mishka out on a specific date at his mansion as Dolores had suggested.
