Chapter 10 - Those Who live by The Sword Will Die by The Sword

Amelia, Trent, and Lucas entered the electrical room.

"See anything strange?" Lucas asked. The room was relatively large, there were four long aisles of slightly tall rectangular fuse boxes, and fuse boxes were attached to the wall around the room. The room was slightly dark, and the only light sources were the emergency lights.

"Nope, maybe we should split up and check each aisle." Trent suggested, to which the others agreed. Amelia walked down the aisle, looking for anything that seemed out of the ordinary. She kept searching until she reached the back of the room and noticed something. Amelia shouted, "Y'all are gonna want to see this."

Trent and Lucas run to Amelia's location. Before them were four fuse boxes, each one sliced diagonally. The covers and switches were destroyed and sparked occasionally.

"Someone must've used a really sharp object to do all this slicing." Amelia concluded.

"Maybe they used a black handled sword." Trent suggested.

"Are black-handled swords that sharp?"

"I mean...," Trent took a look at his sword, examining it, "I don't know; I have never used it to cut metal."

"The slices are so sharp they resemble Tokito's cutting ability." Lucas stated, drawing the other's attention.

"Tokito?" Amelia questioned.

"Yeah, it reminds me of his clean cuts."

"I guess so, but I don't think Tokito is behind this."

"Neither do I. Just something I noticed."

"In any case, since this is unfixable, I think we should report to Noria and see what she says." Trent says as he puts his sword back into its sheath. "But before we go, I think I know how we can restore power to the building."

"How?" Lucas asked.

"I noticed the backup generator didn't turn on, but we should be able to manually start it, which should restore power to the building."

"All right, let's do it."

Meanwhile, Noria was walking down the hall when she saw the lights turn on. This surprises her as her mind drifts to Amelia, wondering if they were responsible for this. She is quickly stopped by three men standing at the end of the hallway, forcing her to come back to her senses. The man in the middle began speaking.

"The Debt Maker told us to kill anyone we find in the hallways. We were hoping we didn't stumble into anyone else, but I guess today is your unlucky day."

She tightened the grip she had on her sword. "Unlucky day? To be honest, I was hoping to find the Debt Maker. Killing three cowards will do."

"Quit talking, you big, mouthed Bitch. Get her boys!"

Two men dashed at Noria from different directions. One of the men's hands became fury like a lion, and his nails turned to claws. He went straight for her legs while the other guy prepared to punch her in the face.

Noria pulls out her sword. She swings in the air at inhuman speed, chopping both men into tiny, perfectly cut pieces. The man in the middle, shocked by how she killed the two so effortlessly, stutters, "That, that sword, where'd you get it?"

Noria looked at him and said, "I get the idea you're surprised; The Sword God gave me this sword when I made a contract with it."

His eyes widened, "So it is that sword... The Swordsmun Signature Sword. I've searched everywhere for it. Those who live by the sword will die by the sword. Its ingrav-"

Upon hearing those words, Noria immediately dashed at him and slashed him several times. He had no time to react; his body was divided into pieces. She looked at the pile of flesh and thought, "I need to stop using this sword; otherwise, I'll start to look like a disfigured animal."

As she walked off, the man's head wriggled its way out of the flesh; he had managed to regenerate his head just before his last heart was slashed. He began to speak harshly towards her: "The great Swordsman Timothy Fowler created that sword! I bet you didn't know that."

Noira stopped walking, surprised to hear him talk. The man's body continued to regenerate, but not quickly.

"The more blood that touches it, the stronger and faster it gets. I always wanted to get my hands on it, but here's the bullshit part: the more you use it, the older your body becomes! Ha ha ha ha ha ha, Ahem, Ahem." He coughed.

"So, let's do this again, once I regenerate."

Noria lunged at him, the sword now centimeters away from his head, "Shut up," she said calmly, and she sliced his head in half. Noira looks at the pile of flesh once again; his head wasn't regenerating, "I hope you're dead this time, she exclaims as her sword begins to disappear.

About four floors below her, Tokito, Turnner, and two other contractors were on the move.

"Where are we going, Tokito? I thought Noria gave you direct orders."

"I know a safer place, so I don't think she'll mind."

"The Debt Maker likes to use moles. How do I know you're not one of them?"

"Why would I be a mole? Perhaps you're the mole." He replied as they approached a crossing between two hallways.

Turnner doesn't reply, and they both remain silent. As they were about to enter another hallway, Someone jumped out at Turnner and drove a knife through his deck, chucking him into the wall. The two men who were escorting Turnner react, but before they could even see the attacker, a chill voice came from their sides.

"Clean cut."

Immediately, their bodies are sliced into pieces, and Tokito's body, likewise. After about a minute, The three of them regenerate fully, but they don't attack the Debt Maker instead, they stand looking at him.

"Pick up Turnner and follow me." The Debt Maker orders them. They obey him and pick up Turnner. The two men follow the Debt Maker and Tokito down the hallway and into a massive room.

As they entered the room, the Debt Maker shouted, "I kindly ask that everyone come to my location." Subsequently, almost everyone in the building began to make their way to the Debt Maker's location.

Anyone who didn't at first either followed the crowd or went when the person in the communication room announced it through the microphone. Some people, however, didn't move but simply stayed where they were.

Back at the electrical room, "Amelia, Lucas, where are y'all going?" Trent asked, as they made their way down a step.

"To the Debt Maker's location." Amelia replied.

"Why?"

"Because he asked us to come."

"What??"

Ten minutes later, the place was filled with at least a hundred people. All the staff who worked for the Cornerstone Agency were there. They all looked at Turnner, who was on the ground. The Debt Maker smiled and said, "As per my agreement with the Cutting God, All heads are to be removed."

Suddenly, everyone's heads detached from their bodies and fell to the ground. The Debt Maker continues, "Now that everyone is under my Debt, we can proceed."

As soon as he said this, an ominous being could be seen standing behind him. The being is surrounded by blinding light, and an aura of pressure fills the room. "."
