As they continued their conversation, Jerry felt like a secret agent hiding from the enemy. He couldn't help but chuckle inwardly at the absurdity of the situation. Being squished under the bed was certainly not how he had envisioned his morning in Dubai.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Lydia's father excused himself and left the room. As soon as the door closed behind him, Lydia let out a sigh of relief.
"Well, that was close," she whispered, looking down at the bed where Jerry had been hiding.
"Yeah, I feel like I just completed a top-secret mission," Jerry replied, crawling out from under the bed and stretching his sore muscles. "Note to self: never hide under the bed again."
Lydia giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. "Agreed. That was definitely a dramatic morning."
"I guess we can add 'master of disguise' to your resume now," Lydia teased, still amused by the whole ordeal.
