Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 6: THE TROUBLE BREWING IN THE FAMILY

THE TROUBLE BREWING IN THE FAMILY

Back in the Ashvery home, a family of four was eating and enjoying the tasty meals that were served by the servants.

Mr. Ashvery, Even though he was a busy man, taking care of the pack duties and making sure there was law and order in his pack, he made sure that he spent quality time with his family, he was a loving husband and a doting father.

He slowly chewed on the food in his mouth before talking, "I heard you guys took my private jet to California, how was the trip to Disneyland Princess? he asked, referring to Sheila.

The Alpha looked at his daughter and noticed she was picking at her food and seemed not to enjoy the food, she had a sad expression on her chubby face and he felt worried for her.

He dropped his fork on the plate gently, giving his daughter his full attention, "Sheila what's wrong?" He asked as he couldn't watch his jovial daughter remain sad.

She raised her eyes to look at her father, she tilted her head pointing at Richmond who was drinking soup that was served on a plate with a spoon, "it's Richmond Papa," she said sadly.

The man had a questioning expression on his face, "what did Richmond do this time?" He asked, It wasn't the first time Sheila was reporting about Richmond's treatment of her to him but he had to ask because she was his precious daughter and he never wanted her to be sad, not on his watch.

"He always insults me by calling me Biggy and he ignores me always," she complained, her big eyes were so sad, and she looked so pitiable.

Mr. Ashvery was a bit confused about her complaints, he knows his son very well, if Richmond ignores someone completely, he doesn't talk to the person at all, he becomes invisible to him but to pacify his daughter, "Richmond, why are you always calling her Biggy and ignoring her?"

Richmond brought the plate of soup to his face drank the whole broth into his stomach and belched silently as if he was not the one his father was talking to, he gently dropped the plate and wiped his mouth with a tissue, taking his precious time, before answering his father, "I don't know what she is complaining about father."

"She is big and that's why I call her Biggy and you have always told me to say the truth, isn't she big father?" He asked coyly, placing the father on the spot, he smiled slyly waiting for his father to fumble for him to trap him more.

The man felt cornered, he couldn't say anything, his daughter was big for her age and he couldn't admit it to Richmond and if he said that she was not big, he knew Richmond wouldn't hesitate to remind him of his Alpha status.

He cleared his throat loudly, 'Sheila is okay and she is beautiful just the way she is," he said, cleverly averting from the question.

Mrs. Ashvery smiled as she watched her family joking and teasing each other, her daughter beamed happily at her father's response, she watched her husband patting their son's head and saw her son's expression, Richmond wasn't a person that showed too much expression but she saw the joy in his eyes as he spent time with his father.

The family were lost in each other's company as they laughed and played with themselves, they were happy without being aware of the danger that was brewing, slyly waiting for them...

Suddenly, they heard glass crashing to the ground and they heard the terrified shrieks of the servants as they were running around hurriedly.

The Alpha stood up and raised his nose to smell the air, the scent of foreign wolves who were not part of his pack filled the air, the hairs at the back of his neck stood attention, and gunshots could be heard around the compound.

His wife Luna became alarmed, looking at her husband in worry, "What should we do Noah?" She asked him, she wanted to go with her husband but she couldn't, Richmond wasn't eighteen yet and couldn't use access to all his wolf essence and Sheila was still a child and was helpless, she couldn't leave them on their own.

He has already messaged his pack mates informing them of the ambush, they were already on their way.

The servants could be seen running around frantically and Noah knew he couldn't ask his wife to come with him and leave the children, "Take the children and go to the safe room, I will see you guys later."

He allowed his wolf to take over but he didn't change to his wolf form, he lowered his tall body to match his daughter's height.

He hugged his daughter, muttered little words of assurance in her ear knowing she was scared, and assured her that everything would be alright.

He hugged his son, Richmond hugged back knowing the gravity of the situation, Richmond wasn't happy he could not contribute to fighting the foreign wolves, he could smell them from afar but could do nothing.

Noah straightened his body and hugged his wife tightly, allowing himself to feel her body warmth before kissing her forehead and inhaling her flowery smell, he withdrew from her slowly, already missing her and the children but he had to confront the invaders.

He smiled at them before urging them to leave for the safe house, he trusted his wife and hoped for them to be safe.

He turned into a full wolf and ran out of the house to face the invaders head-on.

Noah couldn't fathom the thought that other wolves dared to enter his territory, he made sure his reputation as a powerful Alpha scared the other packs but some packs needed to be taught a lesson before they understood he was not an alpha to be messed with.

Luckily the Beta Austin, the Delta Joseph, and all the warrior wolves were already on standby in their wolf form, they all looked fierce and ready to fight as they waited for the signal of the Alpha, immediately the Alpha gave the signal, they descended on the enemies tearing them apart with their teeth and sharp nails.

Noah hated to admit it but he enjoyed the smell of spilled blood that dropped to the ground, it turned the scent to an earthy one, he tore into one of the rogue's throats, dispatching the rogue trash that threatened to challenge his pack.

To challenge him.

Beside him his Beta Austin tore through into one of the rogues, his white teeth were stained with blood.
