Chapter 17 - Ralia The Elf

"What do you mean something indestructible? Aren't all defenses not completely defended, there are always bound to be some cracks and holes that would weaken the structural integrity of it right?" Arthas asked curiously about what the person said.

"Yes, I agree that there is no such thing as a perfect defense, but there are defenses where they are difficult to destroy or damage, such as Lia's Barrier. Her barrier is the epitome of magic, as a mage, it is intricately made by her to withstand anything, and suppress the powers of the Amirites that lurk deep within this area."

"What are Amirites? Do they give off a threat that would be able to cause destruction outside?" Arthas asked once again.

'I don't know why she still answers my question even though she said that she wouldn't answer any more of my questions. Well, to be fair, I was asking for stupid shit'

"There is no reason for you to worry about them right now. Just focus on getting rid of those that escaped through the barrier. The others can handle the ones that are in here quite easily. Though it takes time, we can finish them off with ease."

"Okay? I guess I'll just need to find a reward that would suit me I guess?"

"Yep, just go for it you can find anything in this big pile of junk, everything here is worthy of its praise and stories that date back to long before you were even born, it is an incredible room. Not a lot of people can see this much history not like before"

Arthas thought about what he could get as a reward. He looked far and wide as to where the light can touch, it was up to him on what he would decide.

It took him a while to scour everything, there was armor that bloomed of gold, swords that shone in stories, and jewels that sparkled even with the slight touch of the light.

Everything inside lives up to its expectation as something that would be praised for its glory and tales.

However, for Arthas, he wasn't that much interested in anything. Ever since he was a child he never really had any desire that would place him into something possessive of material objects. But what caught his attention though is the opportunity that would arise.

He wasn't even sure that each of these artifacts would be safe, some could hold curses from their appearance, some can be deceiving, and there are many more that would probably kill him if used incorrectly, he decided that it was too difficult to choose.

He considered asking for recommendations but he already expected the snotty attitude to be declined and would infuriate him.

Arthas gave a deep sigh and looked at the tiny person that was with him. They both stared at each other in awkward silence until the person asked him.

"Arthas, have you decided on what you want to pick? Reward? Anything in this massive room full of artifacts, amulets, jewelry, power, and armor? Although there is nothing that would stimulate a healthy boy inside this room I assure you it catches the interest of people like you, So what would it be?"

"I choose,"

"Hmm?"

"To abstain from a reward"

"WHAT?"

"Nobody told me that I have to pick right now, and there are too many choices to pick. I don't know which ones are good or bad, cursed or blessed."

"Well yeah, but…yeah alright, ummmm… I don't know if that's allowed but…You know what to hell with it, I don't care that they would care as well…Haaaaaa"

"You sound very disappointed and relieved. Why is that so?"

"People usually would pick for the shiniest of objects or glamorous of its being, so I was a bit perplexed by your answer."

As she responded she surprisingly took off her red robe. Arthas was shocked by what he saw.

It was a girl with clear-white hair that reflected the light of the portal, her eyes of a green-alluring color that gave a sophisticated look of confidence.

Her long hair with one braided to its side, with her face, height, and appearance complement her making it very cute.

What stood out from her was the fact that she had long ears that were conspicuously beautiful, the robe somehow managed to properly hide it during their talk.

She flicked her hair with graceful vigor as she adjusted everything from her robe and face which took time and looked at Arthas.

She scratched her long ears with a gentle fluid motion and took a deep breath.

Arthas was surprised to see that the deep voice person that came out of nowhere to ask him about the reward was a pretty, cute, and graceful girl that has an appearance near to his age.

"You can call me Ralia, Arthas. Ralia Elvenwood. I'm sorry for the rough start, however, I hope we can get along from now on."

"Right, it's nice to meet you as well… I didn't expect to meet an elf deep within this dangerous area, much more somewhere with no trees."

"I get that a lot, I tend to hide my ears inside my robe and people can only see me during formal occasions so when they meet me they are quite curious."

'Who wouldn't be curious, much more I am from someone where Elves are subjected to be a fantasy to fill their 'desires' in Earth'

Arthas came from a planet where humans were the only races that were present. It was only in fantasy games or novels would they appear.

He usually overhears his classmates talking about which elf is hot, cute, and beautiful and would sometimes have a dispute over their so-called waifus.

He didn't get the concept of having multiple women being your wife, but he found it quite interesting to have multiple interesting female characters that you are attracted to without the heavy constraints from society.

Having been thrown into this new world. Arthas didn't expect much to be off a twist-turner to have monsters but he failed to realize due to the apocalyptic scene that was thrown at him.

Much more when he saw everything that happened, it was to say seeing an Elf here at the bottom of a weird hall was intermittently out of place.

"For now Arthas, I would allow you to keep that one chance of reward that you can receive with you, however, do note that do not be too presumptuous as to carelessly use it in the future."

"Yes, also why would you show your face now, and not when you first enter? Are you even allowed to show your face in the first place?"

"You ask too many questions, be happy that I'm generous and kind. Ehem, I deemed that it was alright to let you see my face from the answer and choice that you gave and we are free to let others see our faces, but it is quite difficult and would lead to troubles so we usually avoid doing so"

"Uh-uh, so about the barrier, I have a question. Did it minimize the intensity of the explosion? I had thought this in my mind when I got the concept of it weakening everything inside, with the exceptions of selected people."

"Hehe, You are quite perceptive Arthas. To answer that, YES, and by how? By at least ten times" She slowly increased her voice, "The explosion that you consider big enough should originally be much larger than you anticipated, in this world it would already destroy three cities, four if positioned well."

"I see…"

"I don't know what's the point of you asking that, but I think you should get going. Things would continue to get hectic and chaotic from here on out, also Thank you, you helped me reach my quota by destroying everything upstairs."

"I see, no problem then. By any chance do you have magic that can be used to do long-distance communication?"

"Of course, but I won't do it for you, anyways I think it's time for you to go, Bye-Bye~"

'Shit' Arthas thought as he felt a sudden pain in his stomach as he was hurled towards the portal.

Ralia waved her hand goodbye towards Arthas and suddenly threw him towards the portal that rammed him into the ground that swiftly went up and punched him into the portal. Arthas didn't expect to get out this way, he expected something else way different than being tossed inside a portal.

With that, Arthas starts his journey to the outside world.
