Chapter 21 - Result

(Klaus's PoV)

I was finally done with the test. I think I hunted rather a good number of monsters and the points gained would be in the top gained.

After the timer ran out, we were automatically pulled out. This is one of the in-built functions of the token.

Looking at all these marvels, I have a feeling that everything I learned would be... I mean there is a high chance for that. The top brass could be hiding a lot of things from the people.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a device that can help people obtain a class other than mage or knight. I mean it may be possible but even I, as Archduke's son, went through the same process as others.

If such a device exists that can further empire, I believe I would have at least heard the news about it from my father.

Hearing no news is not a reason to cross it off. It may be considered as top secret and my father couldn't divulge even if he had prior information.

Looking at the way the test was conducted, it is to be reasoned that the empire is more advanced than I initially assumed.

Is there a reason why no one knows about these advancements?

I should find out about that later.

After coming out of the dungeon, we were escorted back to the initial stage grounds, where we were told to wait for the results.

A few moments later, the old voice spoke again, "The results are out. Those who qualified to attend the academy are listed. If you don't find your name, then you aren't qualified".

After the voice spoke, a board illuminated with the names of qualified in ranking order along with points they obtained in the dungeon test.

1. Theon - 236

2. Myra - 221

3. Edrik - 205

4. Esther - 205

5. Talia - 197

6. Sedrik - 191

7. Klaus - 186

Hmph, it looks like I only made it to the seventh rank. It matters not. My rank is high enough so that no one looks down on me or causes trouble on purpose and not high enough for the top brass to think about me.

They may attribute the rank as being the son of a high noble. They would see me as a potential powerhouse and not as a threat. This would suffice for now.

Looks like the protagonist has got the number one. No surprise there. For whatever reason, the protagonist would get the number one rank and later would face noble children trying to beat him down.

He would face-slap them or kill them and end up ruling the kingdom.

Wait a minute, Myra...oh shit, that's Myra Solian, daughter of Archduke Tyron Solian.

Shit, Edrik, Esther, Talia, and Sedrik, are all children of high nobles. Edrik and Sedrik are twin sons of a duke from what I heard.

Father briefed me about children of high nobles who would attend this year. It is common, they would also be informed about me by their parents.

There is a high chance that these noble children would confront Theon directly or by using their henchmen, the low-ranking noble children and commoner born.

Is this year going to be the most turbulent year of the empire or would it be the same?

That is not the main question.

Should I intervene if such a situation occurs?

This is the main question I need to think about. From every light novel or manga I read, associating with the protagonist would be too troublesome. Even being around would be a headache.

Every evil faction out there would suddenly emerge from the shadows to trouble the protagonist.

Whether involving or not, both would have their own share of headaches.

I would decide when the time comes, for now, he is a stranger I just met, so no need to fry my brain. I am not even sure if it goes as shown in light novels. Stories need content to get readers, so authors would sometimes write what they think would be best.

For now, I should proceed with my plans as previously planned and wait to see if some shite would happen in the future.
