Chapter 17 - Love Will Heal

It is September 12, year 109, and a year and some change has passed since Lady Lily freed the slaves and started the country wide Abme Corporation. The company has expanded to the point where there are now four grocery stores and two luxury stores in the capital city of Sapphire, one grocery store in Gehen, and three grocery stores and two luxury shops in Whelo. The stores were all opened by Lily and run corporately by Stephanie, the COO, and Kate, the CFO.

Lily had also built six apartment complexes in the city of Sapphire to house the liberated slaves. The liberated slaves were now working in the grocery warehouses as well as running the transportation infrastructure for Abme Corporation. The company was growing at an unprecedented rate, and Lady Lily was proud of what she had achieved.

As Lady Lily walked through her mansion in Whelo, she heard a knock at the door. She opened it to find her husband, Gami, standing there. Gami had finally returned from his espionage mission in the demon country. Lady Lily was overjoyed to see him and welcomed him back with open arms.

Gami walked into the mansion, feeling a sense of relief. He had been gone for so long, and he had missed his wife and his two lovely daughters, who were both a little over a year old. Lady Lily introduced him to some of the liberated slaves who were living in the mansion, and he was impressed by how much Lily had accomplished.

As the family sat down to dinner, Lady Lily recounted all of the amazing things that had happened since Gami had left. She told him about the new grocery stores and luxury shops, the apartment complexes, and the liberated slaves who were now working for Abme Corporation.

Gami was amazed by what his wife had accomplished, feeling a sense of pride. He had always known that Lady Lily was special, but he had never imagined that she would achieve so much in such a short amount of time. As the night wore on, the family talked and laughed, feeling a sense of happiness. They were together again.

As Lily and Gami got into bed, they laid there staring into each other's eyes. Lily noticed tears streaming down Gami's cheeks. "Are you okay? What is wrong, my love?" Lily asked with concern.

Gami laid there trembling and paralyzed. "I can't be involved in war or battle anymore, Lily...I just can't. The things I saw...the things I had to do. I just want to forget it all. It all feels like one big nightmare that wouldn't end," Gami confessed.

Lily held Gami tightly in her arms, feeling his pain. "No more battles, love. Help me run the businesses and stay with me. You have served your country," Lily said soothingly, trying to comfort her husband.

Gami's face was buried against Lily's chest as he cried, feeling the weight of his past experiences. Lily held him close, running her fingers through his hair and whispering words of comfort. She knew that it would take time for Gami to heal, but she was determined to be there for him every step of the way.

As the night wore on, Gami slowly drifted off to sleep, feeling a sense of peace. He knew that he had a long road ahead of him, but he also knew that he had Lily by his side. And with her love and support, he would be able to overcome this.

Lily stayed awake in bed as her husband slept. She sat up, watching him with a sense of sadness and admiration. She ran her fingers through his hair gently, feeling his warmth and the weight of his head against her hand.

As she looked at Gami, she couldn't help but think about the things he had been through. She knew that he had seen and experienced things that no one should have to endure. But she also knew that he was strong and resilient, and that he would be able to overcome his pain with time.

Lily was determined to be there for Gami every step of the way. She wanted to be his rock, his support system, and his source of strength. She knew that it wouldn't be easy, but she was willing to do whatever it took to help him return to his old happy self.

As she sat there, watching Gami sleep, she made a silent promise to herself. She would be there for him, no matter what. She would love him, support him, and help him heal. And together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.

The next morning, Lily awoke to the sound of her husband playing with their two daughters. She smiled as she watched Gami interact with their toddlers, his smile looked genuine, but she knew that there was still a cloud of sadness lingering over him.

"Good morning my loves," Lily said as she stretched her arms out and got out of bed. She walked up to Gami and kissed him, feeling the warmth of his lips against hers.

"Want to have breakfast hun? I'll carry Dahlia and you can carry Camellia," said Lily.

Gami bent over to pick up Camellia. "That sounds great, princess. Oops, I guess I can't call you princess anymore now that we have our beautiful daughters. I guess I'll refer to you as my queen," Gami said with a smile.

"Haha, as long as you don't say it in public. You don't want us being jailed for mocking the monarch, do you, love?" Lily said in jest.

"Some things are only for us to hear, beautiful," said Gami.

"Very true. That's a good thing too, cause if everyone knew what you call me in bed, there may be some issues with your modesty haha," Lily said flirtatiously and in jest.

Gami chuckled as he carried Camellia, and Lily carried Dahlia. They walked to the kitchen, feeling the warmth of the sun on their faces.

"I haven't had food like this in ages!" Gami said, feeling thankful.

"Well love, get used to it because it's only going to get more delicious!" Lily said sweetly.

"You know love, a lot has changed since you have been gone. In fact, they are hosting a private celebration in your honor in the capital this weekend. I believe they are going to promote our nobility status for the work you have done abroad," Lily said.

Gami got a little upset. "Don't joke around with me about that, Lily. I didn't accomplish much of anything. I was more of a hindrance on my team. You don't understand, the demon folk are... they are also people with families, kids, and dreams," Gami said, feeling frustrated.

Lily reached over the table and grabbed Gami's hand firmly, rubbing it softly. "Love, you are home, you are with me and your beautiful daughters. It's okay to be here. I promise you that if there are injustices happening, regardless of it being in another country, we will find a way to help those who are innocent," Lily assured him.

Gami looked over at her. "Lily, you have become such a strong person," Gami said.

"I had to be, for our daughters and for us," Lily said, feeling proud of herself.

They continued to eat in silence, enjoying each other's company.
