Chimwemwe POV
I has been a whole year since I was transmigrated into this world and I was currently three years of age and acting exactly like a toddler while having the mind of a seventeen was hard and really embarrassing and because of that I didn't say much as flowing with it was hard for me. I lived with my aunt Minerva while my grandma Shupiwe visits frequently to help out. We currently live in the city of Lusaka located in the country Nyasaland found in the southern part of Africa and is a combination of the countries of Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.
From what I remembered from my secondary school education Lusaka was actually the capital city of Zambia but in this joint country it was one of the four central cities, I think. I don't know much of specifics of this worlds Africa. Am really not in best position to gather information properly due to the fact my aunt and gran don't let me handle the electronics on my own plus it would be a little strange watching a toddler looking through all that even in this world.
But one thing is clear the country didn't have much heroes around compared to what I've seen in Japan from the anime. I mean I still see them on the news fighting criminals or something but there not all over the streets.
I was currently just bouncing a ball on my head as I was just bored out of my mind and had nothing to do. In most stories the protagonist would be learning crazy martial arts or be some Tony Stark level genius and built some super computers or something. I mean I think having Misaka's skills boosted my intelligence since it was said she rivalled supercomputers but I wasn't doing anything crazy in these pre-years.
"Chicky." I heard my aunt call me and when I turned towards her, I saw a somewhat nervous look on her face and gran was also there her face stern as usual. Now in the year I got to know them my Aunt Minerva was a somewhat playful person but got nervous when it comes to parental stuff and I could sometimes her asking herself if she was doing everything correctly when she thinks am sleeping but she can be serious at times. She was also really fast and that was because according to her quirk was were-cheetah.
My gran on the other hand was stern lady but she wasn't a hardass as she spoiled me from time to time and I've seen somewhat of her playful side. She acted like Aunt's parental coach from time to time. When I asked what my quirk was, she said it was a lioness quirk.
Geez I sometimes felt like if I got Yuroichi's powers and skills it would have made more sense with those types of quirks am seeing in this new family of mine. But anyway, back to the matter at hand.
"What's up?" I asked them noting they never been so serious before.
"We've decided to tell you about your ma and pa." Gran told said to me and I was shocked to say the least.
We were all in the living room on the sofa and Aunt was sitting on my right and Gran on my left. I just sat there waiting for one of them to start talking and thankfully Auntie did.
"To be honest Chicky I don't know how to properly explain this to you but I'll try as best as I can. Before I tell you, what happened to your parents do you remember yesterday when we passed that dog by the dumpster by the market?" She asked me getting me to nod my head. "Yeah, it wasn't moving or breathing but I told you that right there it was in peace as it moved on in another life that's what happened to your parents." She explained as best as she could and I felt a pang in my heart.
"That Chicky is called death when we move on from this life to the next. And am really sorry but where they are at now you won't be able to see them" Gran said sadly and I felt tears pouring down face.
Sure, I knew that there was a high chance that they were dead but still I it didn't make any less painful. It must sound dumb silently crying for people one doesn't even know but I was raised with both parents in my previous life and hearing I will never get the chance to meet the ones in this reality sadden me. After a few minutes of the two women comforting me, I regained my bearings.
"W-what did they look like?" I asked them as I never seen any picture of them beforehand.
Gran than took out some pictures and I saw what they looked like. Guess my pops was into dreads and my mom was more of an afro girl like gran they seemed to have the same quirk.
"H-how did they you die?" I asked them and they flinched a little so much so I barely noticed.
"Bad people Chicky" Was all gran said to me and I guess villains got them but the question was who and why.
They could have been casualties of the attack but that was highly unlikely Aunt Minerva and Gran weren't push overs and I don't my mom wasn't either. But then there was my dad I never met anyone from his side of the family which just raises more questions.
"Chimwemwe." Aunt called out to me in worry as I have been looking at the photos for a while now. She put he hand on my head and gave me a reassuring smile and Gran tickled my ear a little to lighten my mood.
"Me and your aunt will be here for you Chicky." Gran said to me and I just smiled and nodded at them.
Two days later.
It's been two days since I was told about my parents death and they let me sink it for the mean time. Now Aunt was taking me to start nursery School much to my dismay. I didn't I will have the patience for this.
"Can't you just leave me home." I pleaded with my aunt getting her to sigh.
"Again no Chicky I have to go back to work and your grandma will be very busy from now so we can't leave you home alone." She scolded me.
"Come on am smart I can take mange." I argued back and she just smacked my head a little.
"I know that but still anything bad can happen and you won't be able to do anything about it." She argued back getting to click my tongue which caused her to pinch my chicks.
Now from what I've seen on the news things here were bad crime rate was high and as I said there was a hero shortage so much so they had to outsource heroes sometimes. Corruption cases were almost always brought up and in the west of Nyasaland it was even worse. So I understand why she was worried.
"We're here." She said as we made it to the school and she parked the car and . "Come one Chicky I'll drag you out if I have to." She had a threatening smirk on her fa and I grumbled as I got out of the car. "Good boy!"
We entered the building and I was greeted with the loud sound of screaming kids. Some running around others playing with whatever they got there hands.
'God please give me strength.' I sighed as I followed my aunt towards a woman who I think is the teacher.
