Slowly, the creature revealed its form in the darkness. It looked like a large snake, just as Asher had imagined. The creature's yellow eyes stared intently at the two of them as if it was preparing to devour them both.
Chronos realized that they were both in danger, so he began to move, trying to cut down the Titanoboa first. However, the creature noticed and flicked its huge tail, creating enormous air pressure and instantly causing his attack to fail.
"Argh, shit! I can't get close to it." Chronos' jaw hardened, and his brows furrowed.
"Chronos! Hey, are you okay?" Asher rounded his eyeballs at the sight, a tense look on his face.
"Yes, I'm fine. But we have to get close to that thing, Ash. We need to kill this damn thing fast!" Chronos wiped the sweat from his forehead, his gaze full of anger.
Not long after, the creature began to move, using its abdominal muscles. Despite its size, it did not affect its movements. Seeing the snake's movement towards him, Asher quickly launched his laser beam, but the snake's movement was very flexible and managed to avoid Asher's every attack.
"Damn, none of my attacks managed to hurt it," Asher grumbled, his neck stiffening.
The distance between Titanoboa and Asher was getting closer. Realizing that his mind began to wander. His distance with Titanoboa was very close and there was no way Asher was going to be able to quickly fire his laser beam in a short period. Thus, the only thing that could be done now was to avoid the big snake.
But for some reason, his body refused to move. Fear had overtaken his body, making him instantly rigid like a statue. His face paled even more, as he realized the large snake was showing its sharp fangs due to their proximity.
"Asher, Get out now!" Chronos shouted, his facial muscles instantly tightening. "Argh, fuck!"
Without a second thought, Chronos immediately darted with his dash skill, trying to save Asher. Fortunately, Chronos' movements were faster than the snake, so he was finally able to save Asher in time before the Titanoboa ate his best friend.
"Holy shit! Ash, what the hell are you thinking?" Chronos patted Asher hard on the head. "You almost fucking death because of the snake," Chronos sighed desperately.
"Thanks for saving me again, Chronos." Asher stroked his head. "Damn. looks like I always seem to become a burden to you." He bowed his head, a grim expression on his face.
"Hey listen, don't think too much about stupid things like that, Ash. Now let's focus on fighting this fucking creature." Chronos patted Asher on the shoulder.
"Alright." Asher nodded his head, a look of disappointment still evident on his face.
Seeing that its prey had escaped its clutches, Titanoboa looked displeased. It slowly turned its head, showing its deadly gaze, and then moved swiftly again, trying to catch Asher a second time.
'Slash! Slash!'
Chronos' sword thrust successfully hurt the creature's body this time. Slowly, red liquid oozed from the surface of the creature's body. Soon, the creature's moaning sound was heard so loudly, that it made a strong vibration in the cave.
"Now, use your laser beam, Ash!" Chronos shouted, his face so tense.
"Laser beam!"
Asher cast the beam from his staff directly at the Titanoboa, hoping not to miss this time. And as it turned out, it did. The laser beam managed to injure the huge creature's body, leaving it lying on the ground in a weakened state.
"Hey, that thing's dying! Hurry up and finish this thing while it's still immobilized!" Persea shouted happily, a look of excitement on her face.
Chronos ran towards the Titanoboa at high speed, swinging his sword towards the creature, trying to finish off this monster once and for all. However, as it turned out, Titanoboa had not completely lost consciousness. It began to spout a poisonous-colored liquid from its venomous mouth and managed to injure Chronos.
"Argh! Shit!" Chronos groaned in pain, the poison had entered his body. "Fuck, I can't see anything!" He grumbled as he tried to clean his face of the liquid.
"Oh my, we must hurry and help Chronos. He needs our help!" A panicked look appeared on Persea's face, her hands shaking incessantly.
Persea quickly flew over to Chronos, trying to give him some Venus water. But Chronos' swing accidentally hit Persea quite hard, knocking her down and causing her to lose the water bottle containing the Venus water.
"Persea!" Asher's face tightened, staring at Persea who was lying on the ground.
"No, Asher, ignore me. Hurry and help Asher first. His life is in danger." Persea slowly got up, a look of pain on her face. "Hurry!" Persea shouted.
Asher immediately ran towards Chronos who was lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Chronos' screams sounded even more heart-wrenching, making Asher's heart beat faster. Then instantly fresh blood came out of Chronos' mouth, flowing like water.
"Oh my God, hang in there buddy, you can do it." Asher's face tightened, seeing Chronos' face turn pale.
Fear came over Asher. Damn it. His hands continued to shake incessantly as he poured the Venus water into Chronos' mouth. After all the Venus water in the bottle was gone, it seemed like there was no visible change at all. Doubts arose in Asher's mind. Did this water have no effect at all? Who knew, but right now he just hoped for a miracle.
Asher bowed his head. Sadness and disappointment mingled in his heart, and he felt as if everything was over. However, miracles will always come in time. Suddenly, Asher noticed a small movement on Chronos' finger. Chronos slowly opened his eyes and saw Asher's sad face.
"Ash, what's wrong?" A look of confusion appeared on Chronos' face.
"Oh my God, it's a good thing you're awake." Asher immediately picked up his staff, casting his healing spell quickly.
"Esuna!"
"Cure!"
Gradually, Chronos' condition returned to normal. The poison inside his body had disappeared and his blood bar had also returned to top condition. He then stood back up and picked up his sword lying on the ground, ready to finish off Titanoboa.
However, not long after, a blue light came out of Titanoboa's mouth. Surprisingly, it only took a few minutes for Titanoboa's wound to heal on its own. Strange. Asher rounded his eyeballs, unable to believe what he saw in front of him. How could he defeat Titanoboa if this creature apparently could regenerate itself?
"Damn, this must be because of my energy crystal. We have to get my energy crystal back, so this thing can't regenerate anymore."
"Persea, wait a moment." Asher cast his healing spell again, treating Persea's wound quickly. "Cure!"
"Wait, but how can we retrieve the crystal ball?" Chronos furrowed his brows, a look of confusion on his face.
While looking around, Asher suddenly realized something. He saw that one of the stalactites not far from Titanoboa's position seemed to be about to collapse. There was a possibility that, if he managed to knock down the stalactite, Titanoboa would open its mouth and Persea could fly over to retrieve hers.
"Chronos, can you lure the Titanoboa over there." Asher pointed his index finger forward, a serious look on his face.
"Nah, that's easy. What is it?" Chronos furrowed his brow. his head was filled with questions.
"You'll see for yourself." Asher seemed to be gripping his staff tightly, his shoulders slightly tense.
Without further questioning, Chronos followed Asher's directions. He immediately rushed back using his dash skill, luring Titanoboa to follow his steps until he reached the position Asher had ordered.
"Shit! Shit!" Chronos shouted frantically, trying to dodge every Titanoboa attack. "Ash, now!"
Upon hearing Chronos' shout, Asher realized that it was a signal for him. Without hesitation, Asher pointed his staff at one of the stalactites directly above the Titanoboa.
"Laser beam!"
A bright light shot out from the tip of Asher's staff and hit the stalactite directly on the Titanoboa's tail. The huge snake instantly opened its mouth wide, revealing the blue crystal inside its mouth.
Persea, who saw it, immediately approached and took the energy crystal from inside Titanoboa's mouth. Meanwhile, Chronos launched several attacks at the Titanoboa along with laser beam attacks from Asher, until finally, the Titanoboa died.
'Congratulations, you managed to kill the Mid-boss: Titanoboa'
'1500 Exp gained'
'You have obtained, 1x Persea energy stone, and 1x Titanoboa fang. 1x snake skin'
Relief spread across Asher's face. Feelings of happiness, shock, and surprise mixed in his mind. At first, he thought his plan would fail. He still couldn't believe that he managed to kill the huge snake.
"Ash, you're an amazing person!" Chronos ran up to Asher, with a happy expression on his face.
"Yes, Chronos, I -"
Suddenly, a blue light shone right behind Asher. Instantly, Asher's curiosity rose in his mind. Without wasting much time, he immediately turned around, looking at the source of the light himself.
"No way, that's impossible." Asher shook his head, a look of disbelief on his face.
