There is a village on a continent surrounded by trees, mountains, and snow. The village is small with a population just over 200. In one of the many huts there was a woman lying on a bed with a newborn baby in her arms. The woman had brown eyes and mid length black hair. There was a man sitting on a chair with a growing beard. He stared at the woman and the baby while remaining silent. He had brown hair and eyes, big muscles, and tall. He spoke with a low, soft, but deep voice.
" Have you thought of a name yet, Amanda? "
The woman remained silent as she stared at her baby. The baby had pale blue hair, and deep blue but clear eyes. The woman named Amanda was thinking trying to find a suitable name.
" I'm thinking something along the lines of Ameria. "
The husband looked at her confused.
" Ameria? "
" One reason is because it's somewhat similar to my name. Another is because she is a miracle in my eyes. So A-mir--e-a. Do you like it Florn? " (English is kind of weird.)
Florn, Amanda's husband, closed his eyes and went silent for a bit.
" I like it. we took on my last name and we agreed to let you name our first child. "
" Yes, Ameria Snow. I wonder why kind of person she'll be? "
" I'm not sure but I hope she doesn't turn out like Yila. "
" She wasn't suited for a place like this. "
They went silent as Amanda got comfortable and closed her eyes. She held her daughter close to her chest and soon her breathing evened out as she fell asleep.
Florin got up out of the chair and turn off the lamp next to the bed. He kissed his wife's forehead before donning a thick coat, boots, and gloves. He picked up an axe and walked out the house with a content expression on his face. Florn out on the hood from his coat and took out a mask from his pocket before putting it on. He went out of the village to where there were tall trees and the sound of chopping wood.
He greeted some of the other guys already there before finding a suitable tree to cut down. He was a woodcutter and cut wood for the village to use. The hunters hunted food and the gatherers got herbs and other things. Every had a role that they fulfilled. As long as they fulfilled it they would have a something to eat and be able to sleep beside a fire. Money didn't really exist as they didn't see a need for it. However if someone doesn't fulfilled their role or goes against how things work they are disposed of.
In the hut where Florns wife rested their daughter laid against Amanda's chest. Her eyes open as she stared at seemingly nothing. However if one were to look through her eyes they would see floating small dots. In the house there weren't many of them however slowly the amount of them rose as they gathered around her. The temperature in the room lowered as the young girl reached out to the floating dots that were light blue in color. They neared her and as she touched them the door to the house opened. An older man with thick fur clothes walked in. He was tall and domineering. His hair and beard had hints of white, a scar ram across his face, and he had a cold look in his eyes. He looked around the small house and entered the room where Amanda and her daughter were resting. His eyes quickly landed on the little girl who stared at him with interest. A man appeared behind him but looked younger and not as muscular.
" Father there are a lot of ice spirits gathering around the child. "
" I can see that. Why so you think I barged in here? The name outside was Florn Snow. He's a wood gatherer and is probably out cutting at the moment. Go get him for me. "
" I won't be gone long. "
The younger man turned and left the house with haste. The older man was tempted to wake the woman on the bed but decided against it. He could tell that the baby was born recently and her mother would be very tired from the experience of giving birth. He walked out of the house and closed the door behind him as he waited outside for his son to return with the father. He didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes as soon his soon returned with Florn close behind. He signaled his son to stand behind him as he began to talk to Florn.
" You are Florn Snow correct? :
" I am, Chief. "
" I'm not sure if my son has told you but your daughter seems to have a gift. "
Florn's eyes went wide a little.
" Her mother has a gift as well. "
" Yes, your wife's name is Amanda I believe. She's a gatherer although her gift is on the weaker side of things. Your daughter however has a very strong gift. You can't see them but dozens of minor cold spirits have gathered around her. "
Florn looked towards his house as he thought for a moment.
" Chief, if I may ask, what role do you think you will give my daughter? "
They went silent for a bit.
" It's to early to decide however I believe she will make a great addition to the elite hunters i'm in charge of. When you wife awakes you should talk to her about having your daughter be taught how to use her gift by my wife. Even though she's a girl her gift should over shadow that fact. "
Florn couldn't stop a smile from appearing on his face. Hunters are held at a higher regard than others. Being a hunter required more skill, it was more dangerous, and the hunters were strong. It was rare for women to become hunters because they physically weaker than men however there were some exceptions. A hunter is similar to a high class citizen. A member of the elite hunter group was more like nobels. Elite hunters had the potential to reach the first advancement.
" I'll make sure to discuss it with her, Chief. "
The Chief nodded before turning and leaving with his son trailing closely behind.
