Alex was exhausted by his training. He realized that a spell that drained both mana and stamina had after effects for over use. He felt like he just ran a marathon uphill on stairs. He actually collapsed right after he finished training. He woke up about three hours later around 2 in the afternoon. Someone actually carried him up to his bedroom. He got out of bed feeling like he had a hangover. He stumbled to the bathroom and drank water straight from the shower head. He swore to himself that he wouldn't ever spend all his stamina and mana at the same time. After the impromptu shower and drinking probably a gallon of water he felt better. His body was covered in gunk that was washed away. After about 20 minutes of showering he walked out a new man just kidding he was the same.
He looked in his closet for some clothes he realized that he currently didn't have anything. He was surprised since he just now realized that he only really had five outfits. He then remembered a old skill that he really hasn't been using sadly. Storage in his storage was two daggers, his hero suit that was translucent because it was in the real world but could be summoned at any time. Then he had a broken baton. He also had his old clothes from when he came to this world. He quickly summoned them and put them on in the bathroom. He then walked down the stairs and walked around the manor but didn't see anyone anywhere. So he walked to the secret elevator and got on it.
Alex then felt the elevator drop at a much more rapid speed then before. Alex started to freak out thinking the elevator was broken. He didn't want to die in a elevator crash. He then started to think of what to do. Alex thought to himself
'If I phase myself right as it crashes down then I'll live. Wait why don't I just phase through the wall and everything into the cave itself.'
Alex activated his phase skill and the elevator passed through him and he was floating in the middle of the air. Alex thought it was nice to know gravity didn't effect him in this state while he couldn't move upwards or down without his movement skill though. He could only walk at this hight and level. He couldn't take a step up or down in the air. He could use his movement skill to create steps down or up allowing him to do so. He could also use real steps up or down.
Alex then walked through the wall and into the ground he used his movement skill to allow him to walk down at a 90 degree angle and into the massive underground cavern. As he entered the cavern he unactivated his phase skill and slowly walked down. As he was dropping he saw Bruce, Richard,and Alfred looking at the empty elevator that was surprisingly intact.
'So it wasn't broken? Why was it moving so fast compared to last time?' Alex thought.
Alex then moved down beside them he was about 6 feet above them. Bruce's ears twitched a little and he started to look around the cave before he could see him. Alex dropped down right behind him.
"Hey looking for som...eon" He asked as he was instantly hit in the chest and launched into the air again. Bruce realizing that it was Alex didn't follow up to his reaction attack.
Alex laid about 3 feet from where he was and coughed and rubbed his chest.
"Hey what was that for huh. You are a giant bully you know. Do you get off on bullying kids you weirdo."
"One you snuck up on a highly trained Superpowered person. What did you expect to happen. Two don't ever say I get off on anything related to kids. Thirdly why are you sneaking around anyway huh?"
"I thought the elevator was broken it's much faster then it was the last time I took it"
Bruce facepalmed now figuring out he didn't tell Alex about the changes to the elevator system.
"Ya I upgraded it to make it faster that way we can react to any problems in the manor in less then a minute. It shouldn't be a problem for trained humans to handle it."
"Oh well that would be nice to know next time
So what are you all doing down here?"
Bruce motioned Alex to follow him and then walked over to the Owl computer. On the screen was a giant fire. It didn't look like it happened in the city. It was a massive forest fire that was rapidly spreading. Gamma's fire department was already responding on the screen but they weren't making a dent. Weirdly the fire seemed to be alive it was moving in a certain shape. Alex knew that they movement was important but he didn't know why. He looked further at the screen and realized there was a fire person inside the fire spreading it. He also looked familiar after moment of thinking he knew it was Firebird.
"How can he be completely on fire? He didn't do that the last couple times we fought him. He could summon it but it wasn't anything like this. What changed?"
"That what we are going to find out suit up and join me and Sparrow in the Owl mobile"
Alex turned around and saw that both him and Sparrow were suiting up and almost done. Alex not wanting to be beat used his auto equip skill that came from the storage. He also grabbed his new batons and rushed towards the car.
"I call back seat" Alex said jumping into the wide and long back seat and laying down across the back. He never really understood why people wanted to sit passenger when they could be this comfortable in the back. Bruce and Richard both looked at him confusingly and Alfred just nodded his head in agreement. Alex then watched Alfred put on a headset and get Infront of the Owl computer and activated a tracking and monitoring system. Bruce also handed him a ear peice.
"For commutation and tracking. That way we can coordinate with each other easily. Also Incase we get separated. Be ready for anything."
Owlman and Sparrow then jumped into the car. It was very synced like it was practiced. Alex looked at them in suspicion but he also thought it was probably from experience and not practice.
The Owl mobile rushed out of the underground tunnels like a bullet. Taking off towards the fire. When we get there Sparrow will stick with me since you might still be injured. Medic I want you to be in the Air and see if you spot anything. We will directly enter into the forest fire and check for innocent civilians. If you see Firebird relay his location and we will meet up to deal with him. Also take some of these. They are air propulsion grenades. They will unleash a air wave that will cool and put out his flames. I've used them before so it shouldn't be a problem." Owlman said while passing both of them ten little balls each. Alex put them in his suits pockets and Sparrow into his utility belt. Alex really put them into the storage his suit pocket weren't very big.
They had finally arrived at the forest. They all hopped out of the car . Owlman and Sparrow took off into the forest disappearing into the blaze. Alex started his slow but steady climb into the sky. He went up about one hundred feet and looked down into the forest and started to radio in things he saw.
"A lady trapped in a small pond to your north east. Ya that's the right direction s little more to the right. You found her. There's a group of about five people who are trapped by a wall of fire to your direct east. They seem wounded so you might want to hurry. Yep that's the way you're about thirty feet away. Good job I don't see anyone else in the woods. Let me go higher for any discrepancies maybe that'll help." Alex communicated over the radio while climbing higher. He was now about three hundred feet into the air. He saw some more of the fire. It was massive burning almost all of Gamma's forest. The log cabins and even some lakes where on fire. There was still a weird breathing animation from the fire like it was moving up and down. It was something Alex hadn't seen in any fire in his past life. It was like it was moving with a mind of its own. He watched as the fire moved up and down in the animation. He stared intensely at the fire and his eyes slowly unfocused. Then he finally saw it. He finally saw the pattern of the fire. He saw why it looked like it was breathing. Why his mind kept telling him to focus on the pattern. It was a massive bird made of fire. The whole Forest fire was in shape of a bird that was flapping it's wings.
