I arrived at Pallet Town, the whole place is as magical as I expected, since is a small town there are not that many trainers in the streets but still, I managed to see many Pokémons along the way.

'What is my backstory in this world?'
[Orphan, lived by yourself in the woods, found this egg recently alongside these clothes and went to see for the professor to teach you everything he can.]
'Alright, a little too ambiguous but it's better than nothing I guess.'
I reached Prof Oak's lab and honestly, I'm quite nervous, I have never done anything like this before. Remembering the important package in my arms I calmed myself and knocked the door.
The door is opened by a relatively old person in a white coat.

"Well, hello youngster, what can I do for you."
"Good afternoon, my name is Kaori, I'm 15 years old and recently decided to become a Pokémon trainer, unfortunately, I realized how much I lack to take care of them properly, so I was wondering if you could teach me."
"Of course, I don't expect you to do this for free but, uhm, please."
I was so scared; I have never done anything like that. The professor then spoke.
"Hahaha! It has been a while since I last saw a youngster like you, come inside."
I entered the lab and it was just like the anime, true it would become bigger in the future but I honestly love this place even though it kind of reminds me to the hospital.
"So, what can you tell me about Pokémons?"
I was a little shocked but understood the question. This was a test, a test to validate myself as an assistant.
"You should be more specific. If you are speaking about the Pokémons that were discovered in Kanto, there are 151 different species that were discovered, if we are speaking about typing's I can say that there are 18 different types, those being: Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Rock, Ground, Bug, Normal, Flying, Ghost, Psychic, Fighting, Poison, Ice, Dragon, Dark, Steel, and Fairy."
"Now, I know that me being here might sound suspicious, however in the field of taking care of Pokémon I am lacking an awful amount of experience, so I have the hopes that after studying under your wing, I will be able to grasp said experience."
Professor Oak remained there and then smile.
"Welcome to my lab Kaori."
"Thank you, sir, I promise to give it my best!"
"No need to be so tense, now let's see this egg."
I hand over Chimchar's egg. In this world, Pokémon eggs don't have those dots, instead, they have patterns resembling their appearance.
'I spent almost a year shiny hunting using the breeding method, I have the patterns imprinted in my memory.'
"Mm. it appears that the egg does not belong to any species in Kanto, do you perhaps know its species?"
"Yes, based on the patter, I strongly believe that it is the Fire-type starter of the Sinnoh region, Chimchar."
"Oh? I am quite surprised; how did you get your hands in one of these?"
"Honestly, I was on my way here and it literally fell from the sky and I catch it."
"Oh dear, it appears that some predatory bird tried to feast on this little fellow, thankfully everything seems fine. I'll have to contact a friend of mine to confirm your hypothesis, also I'll have to make some tests to make sure that the Pokémon is alive."
"Go ahead, should I help you with something?"
"Ok, follow me and listen carefully to my instructions."
The professor and I spent the whole afternoon doing some procedures, he lends me some study material for me to memorize. I have to say, even though I am quite proud of my knowledge, it pales in comparison of what professor Oak has.
Chimchar's egg had nothing wrong with it and was in an incubator, it would take a few days until he was ready to hatch. I spent a whole week in the lab studying until one day something happened.
[Third person POV]
'Ok, so the dough gets chopped into cubes and go to the frying pan at low heat for 4 minutes.'
Kaori was making some food for Pokémons while the professor was out in Cinnabar Island studying the fossil Pokémons that have been recently revived. He was alone in the lab until 4 kids suddenly enter the lab.
"Hey, gramps lend me some Pokémons please, I want to beat Red's Poliwag." Said a Brown-haired boy with sharp eyes wearing a black shirt.
"Brother, if you keep entering the lab without permission, grandpa will get mad at you again." Warned another brown-haired boy, but he has rounder eyes and wears a purple shirt.
"Relax a little Gary, either way Blue cant defeat me. Right? Poli." Said a black-haired youngster in a red shirt and cap alongside a Poliwag.
"Poli!"
"Guys! Wait for me!" Yelled a kid with some sorts of marks in his cheeks and a red and white cap with a green logo.
"Ash, we told you to hurry up but you took too long." Gary.
"Hehe, sorry, I saw a Pokémon playing with a rock and got distracted." Ash rubs the back of his head.
"Poli!"
Poliwag gets in front of Red as if he tries to warn him about something.
"What's the matter Poli? Is something wrong?" Red.
"Now that you mention it, doesn't the lab smell a little funny?" Blue.
"It appears to come from the kitchen." Ash spoke and went to the kitchen.
Soon after Red also follows him with Poliwag.
"Its hard being the only smart ones in the group, heh, Brother?" Gary.
"Sure, thing Gary, let's hope those two don't cause any problems." Blue.
The group reaches the kitchen and see Kaori making some food.
"Ok, now to taste…. So spicy! Perfect for spicy loving Pokémons, and its not strong enough to harm their tastebuds."
'Who is that Blue?' Whispered Red.
'Heck if I know, he appears to be a lab assistant." Blue replied.
'I don't remember grandpa hiring new personnel brother.' Gary.
'Me neither, lets sneak out and call for the authorities.'
"Hey! Who are you?!" Ash came out of hiding ignoring the others.
'THIS IDIOT!' Thought both Gary and Blue.
"Huh?" Kaori looks back and sees Ash pointing at him.
"It is quite rude to point at others, you know that right?" Kaori asks.
"Oh! Sorry." Ash apologizes.
"Very well, as far as who I am is concerned: My name is Kaori, I have just started to work recently under Professor Oak, I am 15 years old and my dream is to explore this world with more freedom than anyone else. Nice to meet you…"
"I am Ash! I will become a Pokémon Master!"
Kaori freezes and realizes who is talking to.
'How was I so blind, its just 1 year of difference but he is the protagonist of the series!'
"Oh, so you are an assistant, phew! I almost order Poli to attack you." Red spoke entering the kitchen.
"The name is Red! And this one here is Poli. Nice to meet you Kaori."
"Poli!"
"So, what can I do for you today?"
"You see, Blue there believes that he can beat Poli in a battle, but he is going to lose as always."
Both Blue and Gary went towards Red a little angry.
"Oi Red! We are exactly matched, 50 victories and 50 defeats." Blue.
"I'm pretty sure that I won one match more than you." Red tries to hide his embarrassed expression and lies.
While they start arguing, Kaori is trying to calm himself down.
'System! Explain why the protagonists are here!'

'Ok but, what about the events in the manga?'

[Unknown. From the moment that they start their adventure, the whole story will experience changes.]
'Will ash be with Pikachu in the end?'
[If the host can get rid of the spare starters, then yes.]
'Ok, Gary got Squirtle, Blue got Charmander and Red got Bulbasaur, if Green plans to steal Squirtle then all good, so, I have to take one between Charmander and Bulbasaur and handle the other one.'
"Guys. If you want to play with some Pokémons, you should go to the backyard. I'll call professor Oak to allow you to use the ones here. What do you think?"
"Really?! Thanks!" Ash.
"I'm going to wipe that arrogant smug from your face Red." Blue.
"Try it. Poli and I are undefeatable." Red.
"You still lost 50 times Red." Gary.
After a few minutes, Kaori got the green light to lend them some Pokémons. He gave Blue a Pidgey and took the position of the referee.
"This will be a 1v1 battle, the first Pokémon to get knocked out loses. Am I clear?" Kaori.
Both Red and Blue nod and take their positions.
"Let the battle…Begin!!!" Kaori.
