Chapter 14 - Chapter 13: Tree

Many days have passed since the abduction. I never left the manor. Christian hired a Lecturer to teach me about the world today. I am listening to them speak. It's about the past that leads to the new future. The lecturer is a young man; he hasn't experienced the past the same as I did or as the three of us all did. Knowing that he hired a younger man, a few of the people outside probably know my identity, but they wouldn't find any clues because my appearance before was vastly different from now.

As a count's daughter, I always looked elegant to attract people, but I never did that; instead, I looked luxurious to intimidate them. My main character's mentality just keeps messing with me. I'm fully aware that it's just me being stupid, although I was never like this in my original life. The moment I realized that I had transmigrated, it started. I look saintly with long, luscious white hair and blue, serene eyes. Many nobles wanted to get engaged to me because of my appearance.

My appearance now is golden blonde with brown eyes. It's average and not too striking, but I like this look. I'm not different from the majority of the people; nobles have a variety of colors based on their family lineage; the royal family has black hair and ashy blue eyes; Christian's hair is dark brown and comes from his mother, a commoner; this is a mark that he couldn't remove; being an illegitimate child makes me wonder how he organized Letlicia with no power into such a behemoth. ' His mother's identity is a mystery.' I don't want to pry into his background, but if he wanted to talk about it, sure. I will listen, just like in the past, and I will always be there to listen to his words.

"The Holy Maiden Genevieve sacrificed herself to bear the unethical behavior of the duke that was blamed on the illegitimate prince." This sentence woke me up from my past memories. 'Holy What?' I looked at him and then asked him seriously, "Genevieve? As in Genevieve Vanessa Luciel, the Count's daughter," he looked at me, "Yes, you most certainly heard her before. She is the Saint of Deruthika." I look at the lecturer in disbelief, and they continued, "The illegitimate prince was declared the hero; the next day she was punished; knowing that she took the blame for the hero, the church then announced that she was the holy saint that only appeared in a thousand years". I looked deranged. I smiled angryly, then laughed. The lecturer asked, "Is there something wrong?" I look at him, then the window follows my line of sight; the time for the lectures has ended a while ago. He apologized and excused himself. I just looked out the window, thinking deeply.

Christian went back. I met with him at the door. Going along the hallway to the dining area, we sat right next to each other. I stayed quiet, not my usual self. I always talked about him, what the majority of people know, and what the truth really is. We are eating dinner, and he doesn't talk to me. I did not talk. This is one of the changes I noticed before. He is not like this when I'm quiet. He always asked me why I was angry, and I still didn't say it. He didn't try to make me say it.

However, there are times when I have to explain it to him, just like in the past when I was unaware of his identity as a Letlicia and the royal family's abandonment of him. I am his only visitor, and the palace where he resided is an annex that looks like a hunted house barely kept. At one time, i was a child my mentality as proper adult just vanished i accepted being one then i was being unreasonable, I ran away from my family manor and hid. Since I'm able to enter the royal library, my family can also enter. So I tried to keep them from finding me when I entered a forbidden area near the palace garden, but this place is not pruned properly with overgrown leaves, and the fountain has stagnant water.

Then I got lost. I don't remember how I got there. I stayed there for a few hours, then calmed down, followed by panic, thinking, What if my parents never came to look for me? I was about to cry when he appeared. I talked to him, "Hey! How do you leave this place?" He looked at me like I wasn't his problem. "Hey..." tears wondered into my eyes. "I want to leave this place." He walked near me, and I shielded my arms from his body.

"Why are you here?" but I cried more: Just remembering it made me cringe'. I told him what I was dissatisfied about, and he agreed with my opinion. I felt accepted; my feelings were recognized. We talked more, and it was getting dark. We enjoyed our time. I remembered being lost. I don't know how I would return to where I came from. He helped me go out of the garden.

I saw my parents near the library. I hugged them, and they hugged me back. I cried and apologized, and they also apologized. I looked back, and he was never there. Then I found a piece of paper in my palm saying, Royal Library, we can meet again. We started to meet at the royal library to spend time together.

I remembered that I was in the middle of eating food. When I went to stab the meat on the table, a loud scratch was heard. The maids serving the food were startled, and he rested his hand on them and excused them. They all left, leaving us to sit together in the room. I just ate, like before he looked at me eating. I ate bit by bit, and my irritation lessened. Further, I was irritated that my hard work was cleaned up sparkly; none of my effort was left. My mood that had improved worsened, and most of it came from him not telling me what kind of living being I am!

I finished my food because of my dampening mood. I ate it faster than normal. I looked at him and met his eyes. "Are you going to tell me what kind of creature I am now?" I asked before he talked, and I continued, "If you don't want to tell me, fine, I'm going to find them out myself. I finished eating, if you'll excuse me." I said it with irritation and dead eyes. The moment I woke up, he started being secretive. I couldn't keep up; he changed so much. I stood up at the table, and he then said, "Have you noticed how much you have drunk your water?" He talked behind my back, Fast!" I was startled. "What has that got to do with this?" I evaded coming face-to-face with him as I raised my voice in flustered confusion.

He then said something unfathomable: "You are a branch of the tree you planted; that tree was blessed by your holy power."
