Chapter 89 - Is he really a demon?

=====

Roaring flames burned everything in their path, accompanied by a terrifying surge of heat. Where the flames sprayed, the untouched ground turned into molten rock, showcasing its horror.

David raised his palm, and cosmic energy surged out of him like a torrent. Sabbac revealed a fierce face, and the two powerful attacks canceled each other out.

His flames didn't possess much impact.

A purple torrent pierced through the flames like a sharp spear, but a deep red inferno engulfed David.

Bang!

Sabbac was hit in the chest, staggering back several meters before regaining his stance. He felt a pang of pain in his chest, and a patch of his deep red skin turned dull in color, resembling a human bruise.

When seeing houses and fortresses hundreds of meters away sliced open, despite estimating the youth's strength, Sabbac hadn't anticipated his energy-releasing ability to be even stronger than he thought.

Nonetheless, with a cold expression, he looked up. Even his body, which seemed to be made of steel alloys would turn into molten iron under his flames.

Hoo hoo!

As the flames dispersed, a menacing hole was left in the solid concrete wall behind David, with droplets of magma falling.

He stood unharmed in his original spot.

"Like swallowing gravel, a bit hard to digest..."

After David's template integration exceeded 60%, absorbing heat, electricity, and other energies became as simple as eating and drinking. He had also started absorbing some magical and other mysterious energies, although not very smoothly.

Most of his energy had been dispersed to protect his body just now, attempting to absorb a trace of deliberately introduced flames.

"Sabbac's flames from the demon king Beelzebub are undoubtedly not some ordinary fires."

"Hmm?!"

While David wasn't entirely satisfied with the effectiveness of his energy absorption against the attack of mysterious energies, Sabbac's eyes widened in disbelief, his face showing an ugly expression.

He suddenly felt that today was a bad day for him, his invulnerable body was effortlessly breached, and the flames that could evaporate s anything were easily withstood.

For a moment, Sabbac was feeling uncertain about fighting with this guy, and he assessed David like a calculating snake.

'Could this guy also be a demigod or a god?'

However, Diana, who was filled with her fighting spirit, didn't think much about it. She stomped the ground, her body turning into a projectile as she charged with her shield. Sabbac hurriedly raised his hand to block with the shield, the ground beneath his feet shattered like fragments, and he involuntarily stepped back.

Graceful and swift like a butterfly, her elegant movements contained a murderous intent. The beautiful demigoddess swung her sword, and Sabbac's pupils shrank as he hurriedly dodged the attack.

The Sword of Vulcan swept dangerously in a half-circle, slightly grazing his neck.

Bang!

Before Sabbac could regain his stance, Diana swiftly spun and kicked him forcefully in the chest. Under the immense strength, a shockwave exploded.

A series of fluid attacks sent Sabbac's large figure flying, crashing through buildings one after another.

"Is he really a demon?"

Diana was a bit dazed after easily kicking Sabbac away, looking questionably towards David.

"A demon who's lived countless ages in mythical legends? Or is it that hell is quite comfortable, without any struggle and fighting?"

The guy had immense strength and a towering physique but fought as if he had no experience in actual combat.

"..."

Originally, David had wanted to warn Diana not to underestimate Sabbac, but his words seemed a bit hasty. He only remembered Sabbac's powerful panel of abilities and forgot about his software facilities.

Outdated software cannot drive modern hardware.

Smashing through a roof, Sabbac returned from a distance with disgrace, his face covered in ash. He landed heavily in the fortress courtyard, glaring angrily at the two, feeling a bit ashamed.

He was about to make another move.

Suddenly, an old and authoritative voice called out.

"My sister.

It is really unexpected that our first meeting would be under such circumstances."

An elegantly dressed man of middle age, verging on elderly, flew over. His hands were behind his back as if he was a monarch looking down upon everything, with a temperament that all things had to submit before him.

From head to toe, every pore exuded an air of arrogance.

"Your Majesty, the God of War."

Sabbac lowered his head. He had signed a divine contract with Ares before, to receive help from him to retrieve his ancestral crown. Even with Sabbac's current power, he didn't have confidence in breaking free from the God of War.

Although the mortal possessed some strength, he wasn't worth his attention.

Ares glanced casually at David, exchanging a glance with Sabbac.

"I'd like to see how many of my attacks you can withstand."

Sabbac immediately understood his order, kicking the ground, and with a burst of energy, he lunged at David, unleashing an exceedingly furious force that compressed the air and surged towards him.

David remained calm in the face of such an attack, engaging in close combat with his fists.

If Sabbac continued to use his flames, he would have to spend some of his energy. However, he was attacking with physical strength alone, even with attacks capable of sinking warships, they wouldn't breach David's defense.

'What abilities does this guy really possess? Why doesn't he seem to have any weaknesses? Could it be that he, like Black Adam, has abilities of multiple gods combined?'

Knowing the person before him could manipulate energy, Sabbac wanted to test if pure strength was his weakness, but the result was the same.

His own unparalleled strength, like that of a god, was easily absorbed by the other party.

Bang bang bang!

Amidst their exchanged blows, the air seemed to explode like a boiling pressure cooker.

David's sharp offensive was efficient, agile, and formidable. With each move specifically aimed directly at vital points, Sabbac struggled to defend himself. His powerful figure was being beaten back under a steady stream of attacks.

From the outside, it looked like a martial arts master bullying an ordinary person.

"The power of the Six Demon Kings of Hell is completely wasted on you."

David could sense that Sabbac's power surpassed even his pure physical strength, yet his attacks were a mess, as if he had a strong body but only knew how to wildly throw punches like the Hulk.

"Similar to Shazam, there's a letter in your name that's purely for show."

The letter 'S' in Shazam stood for Solomon's wisdom, alongside Hercules' strength, Zeus' lightning, and a few other abilities. However, it seemed to be ineffectual most of the time, much like Sabbac's powers.

Sabbac also claimed to have possessed the malevolent wisdom of Belial.

"I wonder if that so-called evil wisdom of the Demon King is just about solving problems by mindlessly throwing punches to kill enemies."

"Do you know the source of my power?"

His neck was struck again, and Sabbac clutched it while trembling. He staggered back a few steps, leaving deep craters in the ground.

"Could you be the newly chosen person by the group of wizards after Black Adam?"

Thinking that this person had an invincible power like his own, Sabbac thought he may have become closer to the truth.

"Those annoying wizards, I don't know where they're hiding, selected a new champion, gifting him powers different from the Egyptian gods like Black Adam."

"From which god or hero does your power come?

Hercules' strength? Achilles' body?..."

Sabbac's eyes were full of hatred as he attacked with madness.

Considering David was traveling with Zeus' daughter, he tried to draw out David's powers, wondering if it was Achilles' body, which may explain such a powerful defense.

[Anger from Sabbac +112...]

"Your useless nonsense is the same as your useless attacks."
