"Your useless nonsense is the same as your useless attacks."

Punch after punch, David had no idea where this guy's thoughts were going, did he go mad wanting revenge against wizards and Black Adam?

While Diana confronted Ares, he was locked in combat with Sabbac, and David seemed to have forgotten the purpose of this trip.

Suppressing Sabbac, David remained composed.

He wasn't in a hurry to fight with Ares. As long as he was the one to kill Ares, making Ares furious and resentful, that was enough.

'This guy in front of me can also provide himself with quite a lot of emotional points.'

"So, you are Ares?"

Taking her attention back from the battle where David was easily gaining the upper hand, Diana's gaze sharpened as she stared at Ares.

"Evil God of War, who are you calling a sister?"

Ares had been watching her with a sort of sighing expression.

"Of course, you, daughter of Hippolyta."

Landing gracefully on the ground, Ares chuckled lightly.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you about your lineage?"

"She said she molded me from clay and begged Zeus to grant me life."

Diana was surprised that her lineage was recognized by Ares, hastily casting the Lasso of Truth to ensnare Ares, she asked,

"Tell me the truth, you evil God of War."

Caught in the Lasso of Truth, Ares remained unfazed.

"My sister, I am speaking the truth."

The power of the Lasso of Truth was something even gods couldn't resist. Diana's heart was full of shock, her face showing skepticism.

She remembered that before leaving Themyscira, her mother had said with certainty that only a god could kill another god, but in the blink of an eye, she had contradicted herself, mentioning that the Sword of Hephaestus was an exception.

"Could it be..."

"But whether I'm Zeus's daughter or not, it is not important."

The sudden influx of important information left her momentarily confused, but Diana shook her head to clear the confusion, swiftly regaining her composure and sorting out her thoughts.

Her eyes filled with a determined killing intent as she glared at Ares, teeth clenched.

"What's important is that you won't harm anyone anymore and won't provoke wars or harm humanity in the mortal world!"

After punching Sabbac into the air again, even David was impressed with Diana's clarity and determination.

'For anyone else suddenly learning about their true lineage and realizing they have to kill their half-brother, some shock and hesitation would likely follow.'

But not for Diana.

'Of course, the concept of blood relations is almost non-existent in Greek mythology, especially among the descendants of Zeus.'

Growing up listening to Greek myths, Diana should have been aware of this.

Diana tried to pull Ares using her strength, but she wasn't as strong as the god of war who symbolized power himself. Ares' eyes shifted, and a surge of divine energy untied the Lasso of Truth.

"My sister, you still have much to learn!"

Ares's gaze held disdain.

"In my eyes, you're like a child who only knows how to play with toys."

As Zeus's daughter, just a step away from being a true god, she possessed the blood of the God-King flowing within her, yet she struggled to wield her divine power and seemed unaware of the potential within her.

But this suited Ares just fine.

"Evil Ares, meet your end!"

Unmoved by Ares's mockery, Diana shouted, her aura was astonishing, resembling a goddess of war shattering the earth as she leaped, wielding the Sword of Vulcan, and lunged at Ares.

The daughter of the Heavenly Father launched a devastating attack at the Firstborn of the Heavenly Father.

Time seemed to slow down.

Sabbac, who had just managed to stand up, felt a tightening in his chest. He had witnessed the might of that divine sword and wondered how the God of War, famous in the mortal world for thousands of years, would respond—dodge or resist?

"My sister, you actually would kill me for the sake of those mortals?"

Feeling calm and composed, he stretched out his hand, and the incredibly sharp Sword of Vulcan pierced Ares' palm. Next, it seemed to be obliterated by an immense force, and in the next moment, the sword's blade dissipated like smoke in the wind.

Only the hilt remained, jabbed into his hand. Ares's expression remained unruffled, exuding an aura of control over everything, disappointment filling his tone.

"I thought you were carrying out our father's orders."

"Gods are rulers above all, not servants of humans. You've disappointed me, sister."

"Really a Godslayer?"

Looking at the bare hilt in her hand, Diana stepped back, her eyes full of incredulity.

The sword she had been entrusted with, supposedly crafted by Hephaestus to slay Gods, had been destroyed.

Sabbac's face displayed shock, and his mind was shaken to its core.

The ancient Firstborn of the God King Zeus was so powerful. He felt fortunate that he hadn't tried to resist this ancient god of war after gaining his power at that time.

"A sword that could cut through me like paper, reduced to ashes so casually."

Of the four people present, aside from Ares, only David wasn't surprised. He had a strange look in his eyes.

"That's not a Godslayer, my sister."

Gently blowing away the ashes on his hand, Ares shook his head lightly, looking at her like a noble god observing a foolish lost lamb.

"You are the ultimate weapon left behind by our father, meant to deal with me."

That's right, if my mother lied to me about my lineage, then this so-called Godslayer is of course also a fake.

Seeing the Sword of Hephaestus shattered, Diana was greatly shaken, but her resolve remained unshaken. She glanced at David and was about to discard the hilt, preparing to fight the god of war with her own strength.

Although this time she had accompanied this man claiming to assist him in the great cause of killing the gods, the man still remained oblivious to the deception.

Only a god could kill other gods.

She could rely only on herself.

"You're really so innocent, Diana. Do you know how many victories in wars have been built upon lies and deception?"

Seeing her about to discard the 'hilt,' David gently reminded her.

Diana paused in her actions.

"The reputation of Ares, the God of War, has been circulating on this planet for a long time. People believe that you are a symbol of strength, that you are arrogant, bloodthirsty, ferocious, and cruel."

When looking at Ares, there was no mortal respect for gods in his eyes, he looked at him as if he were some ordinary person, even with a little mocking expression.

"But I think that something more should also be added- cunning and despicable."

Boom!

"Human, do you know whom you're talking to?"

Ares's face darkened, and his fierce and majestic gaze turned toward David. His coercion felt suffocating, his voice thunderous.

It was as if even the heavens sensed the war god's displeasure; in an instant, the sky's temperament shifted. Gathering storm clouds loomed low, creating a sense of oppression, and lightning bolts writhed restlessly within the cloud layers.

Whizz, whizz, whizz!

Countless steel fragments from the ground floated up, converging like a typhoon, assaulting David.

It was as if the heavens were unleashing their wrath to punish the disrespectful mortal, seeking to reduce him to a pile of flesh through the steel storm.

Boom, boom!

Yet after the storm passed, the wall behind David, strong enough to withstand anti-tank sniper fire, had been riddled with holes. But David still stood there as composed as ever, as though he had thought about it carefully and found an answer.

"A liar?"

In his perspective, Diana had just thrust and completely missed, Ares evading at the last moment. Following that, he saw Diana appear shocked by something, her suspicious and dumbfounded gaze locked on the intact sword hilt she held as if she was about to discard it.

On the other side, Sabbac seemed to have witnessed something horrifying.

As if he didn't see the murderous and gloomy eyes emanating from the Firstborn of the Heavenly Father, David continued in a calm tone.

"A liar who uses divine power to manipulate and distort others' five senses, pretending to be invincible, and wants to make people give up their only weapon capable of threatening him?"(T/N: Ares Sosuke 🗿)
