When I went out of the his bathroom wearing only his large t-shirt and a shorts, I noticed his walls full of pictures, investigations and leading leads of missing people. On his table beside his bed, I saw a picture of him and an unknown pretty girl but suddenly out of nowhere, Zaire rudely took the picture away from me and forced me to leave the dorm room in the middle of the night.
"If you're done, please leave now", he said with his back turned on me, I looked at him and thought of what exactly made him believe that his sister is still alive even after years already?, however since he's so rude, I walked out to the door and didn't forget to slam the door so loud .
Walking in the middle of the road alone with no people to be seen around, I kept on looking back to beware of stalkers or perverts following me around, biting my nails, anxiously staying brave and preparing for any harm that comes. Everytime I went out alone, I always make sure to bring along a knife for protection just like what my grandad taught me to. It didn't take long before I notice a man following me, I didn't dare to look back, I fixed my posture and walk normally, to be sure that I wasn't really being followed around, I changed my path to the right but he still followed me, so I took counter measures. I hurriedly walked to the right street again where I hid myself behind the wall, bought out my knife and as he walk casually not looking suspicious and unguarded, I took the initiative to defend myself, ready to stab him, I swinged the knife directly onto him but was blocked by his hand, he was fast to block the attack, he then grabbed my hand to my back and pushed me to the wall like a police who caught a criminal, I lost my grip and eventually let go of the knife.
"HELP!!!", I shouted but he covered my mouth.
"You're really bad at defending yourself", he spoke and I immediately recognize his voice, it was Zaire who was laughing sarcastically and mocking me with my lousy defense but I was in no mood to joke around, I aggressively threw my bag to him and stared straight to his eyes with unwavering anger, initiating a fight, he noticed it though I was only answered with him ignoring it and sarcasmly smiled at me.
"Relax, I was just gonna escort you home", he said as he picked up my bag from the floor and walked ahead of me, just awhile ago, he was mad at me now he changed his mood. I eventually gave up on his tricks since I was so tired already of everything and everyone I see.
Upon arriving home, my grandparents were outside frantically waiting for me, they immediately hugged me as soon as they saw me. I explained to them to where I was for the past 2 days. When I looked back to take my bag from Zaire, he was already gone, all that's left was my bag sitting on the bench that was in front of our house, I didn't care where he went or what he was planning.
After a few days passed, I didn't go to school for awhile, I wanted to rest, I spent my time by sleeping all day long but it wasn't gonna last forever, I had to attend my classes to learn. Going back to school, as usual nothing interesting and only the eyes of the judgemental people is all I saw in the morning, however, our professor announced a new male student I wasn't aware of yet, standing in front of the whole class, he introduced himself to us, he has dark brown hair, blue eyes like the sky and a pretty face that resembles a girl, he wore glasses which made him more attractive and charismatic. His first impression was friendly and playful that attracted the girls attention. Theon Churchill was his name, he recently moved to our town, he said he came from a city which he didn't mention where it was. The professor told him to sit anywhere he was comfortable with, surprisingly he chose to sat on the empty chair beside me, there was so many empty chairs on the classroom and he yet he stupidly chose to sit beside me, everyone looked at us awkwardly but he didn't care. He introduced himself to me saying we know each other and kept nagging me, he was doing to comfortable with me but I wasn't, I disgustedly stared at him and tried to ignore him although, he keep on smiling at me that is already annoying me, even Zaire was looking at us suspiciously.
At his first day of school, he already showed his talents, he was a genius at studying and sports, the surprise quiz we had was so easy for him, his scores was as equal to the score of the honored student of our school, looks like Zaire found his nemesis and at PE, he was doing great at volleyball which made the coach invite him to join the volleyball team and he accepted the invitation with gratitude. I envied him, I said to myself, if I lived a normal life with kind people surrounding me, if they never went missing, would I have lived the same way he was living?.
