Chapter 24 - Gladius's Insane Training drill (1)

"Follow me," Gladius said, while walking in the direction of the spring, he followed the spring downstream and jumped down the cliff with the mountainous waterfall, landing unhurt on the ground close to the pool into which the waterfall, falls.

Leon did not dare do the same thing, he used a hoverbike...

"Don't use it!" He heard Gladius say in a cold voice.

Hearing Gladius, Leon frowned but he still obeyed his orders, he still dared not to jump because he was sure that even with his inhumane strength, it was still possible to break some bones if he fell from such a height.

Not too far from the edge of the Cliff where he stood, was where the water from the spring fell to make a waterfall, but now, his focus was to reach the bottom at which Gladius stood.

As Leon stood at the edge of the towering cliff, his gaze fixed on Gladius who was at the bottom. Determination burned in his eyes as he resolved to reach the bottom. Without a hint of hesitation, he took his first step down, his heart pounding with anticipation.

"Fuck this! Why is Gladius so hard on me!" Leon cursed as his hands explored the rugged surface of the cliff, seeking out footholds and anything that could offer him stability. He clung onto cracks and small rocks, his fingers gripping tightly as he carefully maneuvered his way down the precipice. Every muscle in his body tensed, his brow glistening with beads of sweat as he exerted himself, inch by inch.

Despite the perilous nature of his descent, Leon pressed on resolutely. His focus remained unwavering, fixated on each step-down, oblivious to the dangers that lurked around him. The wind whistled in his ears, mingling with the sound of his breathing, as he made his way closer to the bottom.

Adrenaline coursed through Leon's veins, fueling his determination. His heart beat faster, the exhilaration of the moment heightening his senses. Each movement was calculated, each decision made with utmost care, as he skillfully navigated the unforgiving terrain.

"So Close" Leo muttered, knowing that he was reaching the end of this perilous journey.

And then, the climax of his feat arrived. With one final leap, Leon landed gracefully on his feet on solid ground. A rush of satisfaction washed over him, causing him to take a deep breath and bask in the glory of his success. Looking up at the towering cliff that he had just conquered, he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.

At that moment, Leon realized the strength of his spirit and the power of his determination. The arduous journey down the cliff had tested him both mentally and physically, but he emerged victorious. As he stood there, taking in the view, he couldn't help but feel a profound sense of achievement, he was very lucky that he didn't slip, because if he did he would end up with broken bones.

With an excited look on his face, he looked at the pool formed from the waterfall, then at Gladius before saying, "Did you see that, I did it!"

Gladius's eyes twitched. "That's not the drill though, climbing down a cliff isn't hard"

Leo's eyes widened in disbelief, "What the actual Fuck! You mean all my suffering was for nothing?!"

"Yes," Gladius replied bluntly without a change in expression.

"So what's the drill?" Leon asked with a tense voice, knowing that whatever Gladius was going to say next would be a thousand times harder than what he just did.

"Your training drill is to climb and descend the waterfall cliff, Ten times..." Gladius said with an expressionless face, uncaring of the fact that what he said sounded like a death sentence to Leon.

"No way" Leo barked in absolute disagreement.

"That's impossible!" He added with a yell, as what Gladius was acting him to do defied common sense.

"This is nothing impossible, as far as you have a will. Now Go!" Gladius urged, the look on his face making Leon gulp knowing that Gladius won't take no for an answer.

"How the f*ck am I supposed to climb this thing!? Not only would the Waterfall be pressuring me down, but also the rocks are slippery with the moss on them" Leo said in disgruntlement as he stared at the mountainous waterfall from below.

Leo looked like an ant, No! Like a grain of sand when compared to the waterfall.

There is no way he is going to climb his mountainous waterfall

It would be an arduous task for him to climb it, especially when there is a high chance he could slip and fall back to the ground. and break some bones.

The situation was a daunting one, But Leon was determined to succeed against all odds and make it to the top.

Nevertheless, he would be lying if he said he was not nervous He could hear his heart throbbing loudly, but he steeled his heart, swallowed down a gulp, entered right below the waterfall, came close to the rocks, placed his hands on the cracks of the slippery rocks, and then began to climb.

The forceful pressure of the cascading water relentlessly pushed against him, creating an atmosphere that seemingly defied possibility.

With each step, he valiantly battled the slippery moss beneath his feet, summoning every ounce of strength to counter the relentless current. His muscles strained and protested, yet he continued his ascent, relentlessly clawing his way upwards, gripping onto rocks and boulders for dear life.

The symphony of the roaring waterfall assailed his ears, almost overwhelming his thoughts, but he defied distraction and pressed forward, never surrendering to doubt or discouragement. His agility and quick thinking became his allies, enabling him to surmount the myriad challenges strewn before him, propelling him ever upward

At some point, Leon would almost slip away, his heart would skip but he would take hold of himself, and catch himself at the last moment. Every single moment he spent climbing was a dangerous battle against the powerful current of water falling upon him from above and the slippery rocks and cracks which he held firmly, perfectly adjusting his body weight so as not to slip.

The journey to the top was slow and perilous,

At long last, after a grueling struggle, Leon reached the summit. But it took him an entire day!

Overwhelmed with triumph, he stood at the top of the waterfall, looking down at the breathtaking scenery and feeling the stillness of the air. But he knew his journey down might prove to be even harder.
