"Wow Davian, you look so handsome," Cia complimented Davian.
Cia had met up with them in a boutique.
Davian had just walked in from the changing room, in a black tuxedo looking like a sexy tycoon. His hair was neatly gelled backwards with only a few strands on his forehead, which made him look ten times more hotter.
Cia, the boutique owner and some of her workers who were helping them out, gosh over the extremely handsome angel in their midst.
"Ms. Reyes is so lucky," some of the workers gossiped.
"I wish I was her. She's so pretty and look at the handsome man she has got for herself," another said.
Silvia walked towards him, she was wearing a beautiful off-shoulder white gown.
"Wear this," she gave an expensive brand wrist watch to him. She didn't compliment him even a bit and continued to act indifferent. He collected the watch from her and wore it. It fitted so perfectly.
"Let's go," she said. It was almost eight pm, they had practiced what to say and how to act all day. Fortunately, he was a good actor just like her and like she assumed, he was really smart and intelligent.
He offered his arm for her to take, she held it...their eyes not breaking away from each other. Cia bid them good bye and good luck before she entered her car and drove off.
Davian opened the door of the car for Silvia like a gentleman, she got in and he shut the door before he turned around and got in as well. The driver started the car immediately and drove off.
Soon, they had arrived at the Reyes' mansion. The driver opened the door for Silvia, Davian offered her his arm again, which she took and they walked into the mansion.
"Don't forget everything we practiced," she said to him.
"You have nothing to worry about, Silvia," he told her.
"Silvia..." her mother welcomed her. She let go of Davian to hug her mother. The butler of the mansion and two maids were also there to welcome them.
"And this is..." Janet trailed off, excitement in her voice.
"Davian, Davian Randell my fiancée," Silvia replied.
"Really nice to finally get to meet you, Mrs. Reyes, I can finally see where Silvia got her beauty from," Davian said and Mrs. Reyes smiled.
Silvia didn't know when her cheeks turned pink, she never expected him to say that. It wasn't the first time someone told her she was beautiful, but she didn't know why she was blushing when he said it.
Even though Mrs. Reyes was aging now, she was still very beautiful and Silvia took after her, the only difference were their eyes. Why Silvia had amber eyes, her mother's were sea blue. Just then, Mr. Reyes walked in.
His face was emotionless as he stared at Davian, Davian could see where the amber eyes came from.
Davian stretches his hand for an handshake, Alan stared at his outstretched hand for a while. Why was he proving difficult?, Davian thought. Wasn't he the one that wanted Silvia to get married?
Then he finally took it and smiled at Davian, Davian returned the smile.
"So, you're the man that finally stole my daughter's heart?" he reckoned, more like a statement and not a question. Davian simply smiled and intertwined his fingers with Silvia's.
"It wasn't easy," he said and they all laughed, even Silvia had to force a smile.
"Okay, let's go in, shall we?" Janet said and they nodded in agreement.
Davian abruptly let go of Silvia's hand when her parents were backing them. Silvia didn't look at him, she just held her white purse with her hand, Davian put his in his trouser pockets as they followed her parents from behind.
They all sat at the long dining table as the butler and maids dishes out the food for them and they started eating.
Towards when they all had eaten their meal halfway, that was when her parents started asking the bottled up questions.
"So Davian, tell us more about yourself," her mother started.
"Okay, well. I'm a business man, from this city but my business is based abroad. I was also, but it's been two years since I decided to come back home, especially to see my mother. I am an only child and I never got to see my dad, he died in a car accident when I was still a baby," he explained. Part of it was true, the last part.
"I'm so sorry for that. Where's your mother? She should have been here," Janet asked.
"She's in White bridge hospital, owned by your company of course," he answered.
"What? Why? What happened to her?" Janet asked, concerned.
"She's...she's uhm-"
"She's diagnosed of cancer and needs second radiology surgery immediate effectively," Silvia answered for him knowing how uncomfortable the topic made him, her parents noticed as well.
Silvia held his hand and flashed a small smile at him, he returned the smile and held her back.
"I hope the surgery is successful," Janet said and Davian nodded.
"So Davian, tell me. How did you start in life? Did you inherit your wealth from your parents?" Alan asked. Silvia almost glared at her father, she knew that would be the first thing he would ask, it's all about money to him, nothing else.
"No. I didn't start rich, I struggled and I got to where I am today because of my handwork and perseverance, my company might not be as multinational as yours but it is doing excellently well and I'm planning on establishing a branch here in Asteria," Davian responded.
"Good to hear. So what does your company deal on," Alan asked further.
"It's an advertisement agency in Asheville," Davian answered.
"That's pretty far off," Alan said, it was in a totally different country from Navarro.
"I hope you're here to stay. As you already know my daughter is the CEO of our company, she wouldn't leave it to live with you in Asheville," Alan added.
"You don't have to worry about that. I'm here to stay and I have no problem with your daughter being a boss lady.(Turns to Silvia), it's one of the reasons why I adore her, she smart, beautiful and industrious," he said and Silvia smiled at him.
"I can see the love in your eyes," Janet observed and it took a lot of self control for both Silvia and Davian not to laugh or scoff.
"Then what about your business? How are you going to manage it from a far off?" Alan asked.
"I have my ways," Davian simply said.
They continued eating. After the meal was over, Silvia's parents persuaded them to sleep over as it was already late. The duo objected.
"What's so wrong with it? Both of you can sleep in Silvia's room. After all you're about to get married," Janet said.
"And besides, it's really late already. We're just worried," Alan added.
"There's no need to be worried dad, we'll be fine," Silvia replied.
"I insist. Matt?" Alan proceeded in calling the butler.
"Dad..." Silvia trailed off as she glanced at Davian's expression, she couldn't tell what he was thinking or how he was taking it.
The butler came immediately.
"Prepare my daughter's room for her and her fiancée," Alan ordered.
"Okay, sir," Matt replied.
"And get them nice night wears," Janet added. The butler nodded and went to carry out the order immediately.

Mr. Reyes was in his drawing room. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
{Hello boss}, said a man's voice from the other end.
"Yes, Randolph. I want you to do a background check on someone," Alan said.
{Okay boss. Who?}, the voice asked.
"A Mr. Davian Randell. He's from Asteria according to him and he owns an advertisement agency in Asheville. See how true this is," he added.
{Alright boss}, the voice affirmed and Alan ended the call.
He poured himself a glass of whiskey and added some ice. He had an uneasy feeling about that Davian, how well does his daughter know him? Was he truly who he claims to be? What if he was a gold digger?, he isn't going to allow just anybody marry his daughter.
Meanwhile, Janet walked so elegantly to where Silvia's driver was. He hasn't turned in for the night.
"Mr. Noah..." she called. He bowed slightly at her.
"Yes, Mrs. Reyes," he responded.
"I want to ask you some few questions. About my daughter and her fiancée," she said and watched Noah closely to see if she would catch even the slightest hint of lie or doubt.
"Yes...ma'am?" Noah tried to act normal. He knew about the contract and he swore with his life not to disclose it to anyone not even his wife. His loyalty lies with Silvia.
"How long have they been seeing each other?" she asked.
"For quite some time now," he replied carefully.
"Can you give me a date?" she requested.
"No ma'am. I may be Ms. Silvia's driver but I don't follow her every where. I don't always have an idea who she sees. But I found out about her and Mr. Davian about a couple of months ago," he lied. Janet didn't seem satisfied.
"Was there anything you wanted to know?" he asked.
"?!"
