Chapter 10 - Court or church

Davian finally came out of the bathroom, he was now wearing the night attire. He saw that Silvia was already lying on the bed. He walked towards her and saw that she was sleeping. Wow, she actually fell asleep on me, he thought. She must be really tired.

She was wearing a night gown which was thin singlet handed. He removed some hair from her face. She was beautiful, It took all his self control to not have devoured her then.

He smiled, the seductress looked so peaceful asleep, less brazen almost innocent and harmless. He placed the blanket over her and joined her on the bed but he didn't use the blanket, he just lie-his moderately broad back and shoulders facing her.

Davian was this close to the dream world when he felt something hit him. His eyes forced open as his brows creased. It was Silvia, she had roll to his side of the bed.

Her leg was crossed across his abdomen, her head on his back, her hand also crossed to hold him by his chest. Was she for real?, he thought.

He tried to remove her hand first but it only gripped on him more. Is she really asleep or tempting him again?, he could feel the tips of her bosom on his back. He half turned to look at her. She was truly asleep.

Did she need a cuddle buddy that much or was she dreaming about them?. He could hear her soft moans, he bit his lips trying to suppress his laughter.

Her grip on him tightened and the moans stopped instead he began to her sobbing. He turned to face her fully, she was actually... crying.

If anyone would tell him this woman could cry he would have shrugged it off. But even the strongest person was still after all, just human. Why was she crying? Was she having a nightmare?, he asked himself.

He wiped her tears and removed her leg from him. She naturally snuggled into his chest and he held her back in a comforting embrace.

It was dawn. Her eyes were still adjusting to the light as she tried to get up but a large arm held her in place. A face began to appear in her vision until it finally cleared, it was Davian!

Then everything from yesterday began to rush in and it gave her a slight headache which made her to lie back. She shut her eyes again and opened it. Why were they cuddling?, she asked herself.

Her eyes trained on his sleeping face, on his dark thick and long lashes, his well curved brows which were also dark but less thicker, his magnificent jawline and well defined cheek bones, he looked like a sleeping angel.

After how aroused he made her feel yesterday and it was just the tip of the iceberg, she should call him the sleeping devil instead.

Blood rushed to her cheeks as she remembered what transpired between them yesterday. She never expected it to go down like that.

"Why are you blushing?" came his deep husky voice in a whisper. Her eyes widened a little, she knocked his arm off of her and stood up.

He sat up as well; "Good morning to you too, princess," he smirked.

She didn't even know when he had woken up, how many times has he effortlessly made her flustered and embarrassed before him, he was taking it too far now, she thought.

"Don't call me 'princess', " she responded.

"Alright, Ms. Reyes," he said and she glared at him.

"You've breached a lot of the conditions," she informed him.

"No. I only breached one and it was because your parents wanted us to sleep over in the same room," he replied.

"The intimate part, you breached your own condition," he said and grinned at her trying to irk her, he was beginning to find it amusing.

"I only did it to test you and you failed," she replied.

"No, I just played your game and you lost and threw yourself at me," he irked her more.

"I never threw myself at you!" she blurted. He leaned on the headboard and smiled smugly.

"Uh...you literally did," he added.

"Shut up this instant or I'll terminate the contract," she said trying to hide her embarrassment and he laughed.

"You know you can't do that," he replied.

"Don't be too sure and take advantage of it, I can, if I wanted to. (Shakes her head abruptly) and I'm not having this conversation with you again, Mr. Randell," she said and walked towards the intercom of the room to call the butler. She continues to glare at him as she did it.

They both freshened up and joined her parents for breakfast.

"So how was your night?" Mrs. Reyes asked, a grin on her face.

"It was fine, mom," Silvia almost rolled her eyes.

"Just fine?" Janet persisted.

"So do you guys have a date?" Alan asked.

"Uhm, not yet," Silvia answered.

"But we want it as soon as possible. Before the end of the month," she added.

"Okay," Alan replied.

"I guess we should start the preparations now," Janet elaborated.

"Yes," Silvia agreed.

"So which wedding setting do you lovebirds want? Court or church?" Janet asked.

"Church,"

"Court,"

Davian and Silvia responded at the same time, Silvia being the latter. They stared at each other before turning towards Mrs. Reyes again.

"Court,"

"Church,"

They said different answers again. Silvia bit her lower lip. Davian held her hand on the table; "Anything my love wants is okay by me," he quickly interjected.

Mrs. Reyes smiled and nodded while Alan just stared at them.

After the meal, Janet took her daughter to the garden of the mansion where they took a walk as Alan wanted to have a word with Davian. Silvia took the walk with anxiety in her heart as she wondered what her dad so wanted to talk to Davian about.

"Don't worry darling. Your father is not going to eat him," Mrs. Reyes sensed her anxiety.

"I know, mom, but..." she trailed off.

"It's okay. They're just talking," Janet said.

"Do you love him?" Janet suddenly asked.

"Yes," Silvia answered simply.

"How well do you know him?" She added.

"Very well," Silvia was being careful with her answers.

"Okay. I used to love your father. On our wedding day, I felt like I was the happiest woman on earth," Janet scoffed.

"Now on this day. The happiest thing that ever happened to me in this marriage...is you," she added and smiled at Silvia, she returned the smile.

"Hmm dear, not all marriage is as unhappy as mine. Yours can be happy, if there's trust. Don't let trust and love leave your marriage and it will be just fine," Janet assured and Silvia smiled at her before hugging her.

Meanwhile, Davian and Alan were at Alan's drawing room. Alan poured both of them whiskey; "Ice?" he offered.

"Yes," Davian replied.

Alan put some ice in the drinks and gave one of the glasses to Davian.

"Thank you, sir," Davian replied.

"So, Davian was it?" Alan started but Davian kept a stoic face, a little apprehensive about the man but didn't show it.

"The day my baby girl was born was one the best days of my life. My little bundle of joy was one of the things that kept me sane in this life and I won't spare any one who tries to take advantage of her," he said going straight to the point. He walked closer to where Davian was sitting and leaned forward at him.

"Don't think I haven't killed anyone in this life," he whispered.

"I have blood on my hands, Davian and I'll will kill you without thinking twice, if you hurt my daughter or play a fast one on her, us and our company," Alan threatened but Davian kept his stoic face intact.

"With all due respect, Mr. Reyes. I'm not marrying your daughter because of your or her wealth," he said, which was a lie?-He thought.

He was marrying Silvia because of money otherwise why would he marry a woman as overbearing as her. But it was a contract marriage, she too needed something from him.

"I love your daughter and I'm not going to hurt her. I'm not going to do anything to hurt, Silvia," he added and Alan scoffed.

"Okay. But just so you know, your life is counting on your words," he said and smiled at Davian.

"Cheers," Alan added, a mischievous grin on his face.

Soon, they were about to leave. Mrs. Reyes was the only one who was seeing them off. They stood by Silvia's car and Janet was saying her farewells.

"I'll have the butler bring your previous clothes to your house. Oh, where does Davian live? The butler can just deliver his separately," Janet asked.

"?!"
