Elijah was on the verge of asking a question when his body suddenly plunged into the void. It felt as though he was falling, but the sensation was taut, akin to struggling against the force of a waterfall.
Colors swirled and fused around him, and he briefly glimpsed the Pope kneeling on the floor in prayer. When the Pope rose to his feet, he clapped his hands four times, each clapping at a different tempo. Elijah's head throbbed with pain, and he found himself reclining on an oak bench.
The pope slowly bowed and said, "Wait here, someone will show you to your room." He had emerald blue eyes, his hair was covered by his hat, and wrinkles lined his nose and jawline.
Perplexed, Elijah asked, "Wait, how did you know that I was staying here?" The pope turned to him and replied, "Because I heard Mars answer." Elijah looked on in confusion and asked, "Sorry, but who is Mars?" The pope chuckled and explained, "Mars is the name of our god. It's a nickname because none of us knows his true name, not even his blessed."
A bishop entered the room, bowed to the pope, and nodded to Elijah. "He will show you to your room, so just follow him," the pope exclaimed. Elijah followed the bishop down the hall, taking a left until they reached the barracks. Different doors with different numbers lined the hallway.
The bishop pointed to a door and said, "This is your room. There's a bed inside, and you can make it look however you want." The bishop, a young man in his late twenties with brown hair and blue eyes,
"are there any rules i should follow" Elijah asked, the bishop turned to him with a displeased look "of course there are rules, do you think this is some type of zoo?" The bishop asked, Elijah looked on and he had a pissed-off expression (why is he even trying to pick a fight i just got here), the bishop was about to walk away when Elijah asked another question.
" What was the use of the house next door?" the bishop was confused because of the way he stated it but he answered anyways"that house exist for the homeless, those that wont give their life to a faith chooses to not accept the help of any churches, most churches would just leave them be but ours chose to save them by using that building as a storage.
"he buys new clothes then set them in different rooms of that building" he answered honestly it sounded as if he was barging about the pope.
(ohh so i stole clothes from a homeless shelter…) Elijah's face shifted to one of regret "nice clothes by the way" the bishop smirked as he walked out (that bastard knows).
Looking around the room, Elijah walked to the window and saw the blood-red moon. "I really hate that damn moon," he scoffed. Examining the room further, he discovered that it had no bathroom, only a kitchen, a small living room, and a bedroom.
"My apartment is somehow bigger than this," he thought. Finding two pairs of white sheets in the closet, he made the bed and sat on it, reflecting on how he ended up there. "How the hell did I get here in the first place?" he asked himself, looking at his light-toned hand. Feeling his eyes grow heavy, he lay down on the bed, and soon his eyes shut.
Knock!
Knock!
Elijah was barely awake but his heart sank (did i die again?..is that creature at the door ) in a painck he ran to the window then he looked outside his mind spong. all he could think about was that creature it looked it a mix of different animals such as a bull at its lower torso a cat as its head and a dog as its chest a white horn came out from the sides of its head.
Knock!
Knock!
The illusion was broken by the second knock. (I didn't die?) he took in a deep breath then looked around the room he realized that he was in the church he slowly went to the door then opened it he saw a girl with black hair her eyes were a beautiful shade of green her lips were a pale peach color she had a slim body.
"your needed in the study" her voice sounded sweet to the ears just listening to her made Elijah want to sleep "i don't know where that is, could you led the way?" the girl nodded then added"Before that i suggest you clean yourself up" Elijah nodded then closed his door.
He went to the kitchen then fixed his missy tall hair "i don't think i will cut it" he said to himself, he then washed his face then brushed his teeth, he cracked his neck then opened the door the girl was still there "oh did you wait long?" he asked but the girl didn't answer.
she started to walk Elijah followed along they walked for awhile then they ended up in a garden it was filled of weird and unfamiliar plants "this is the church's garden we keep a variety of different plants some of them contain spirituality while some are just normal".
some of the plants glowed a faint blue color the two continued on they entered a hall filled with books, the shelves themselves looked like skyscrapers to the normal human eye, elijah almost wandered off but he stuck to the girl they continued walking then she stopped"we are here".
the two were in a giant hallway it looked as though the two were in a museum she pointed to a large oak door Elijah slowly walked up to it then knocked on the door with his right hand.
"Come in!"
An old voice said Elijah walked into the room. It was large and the room was surrounded by loads of bookshelves with books of varying sizes and shapes . "So why did you call me exactly?" Elijah asked, the pope got up from his seat, he held a fountain pen in his right hand, he placed the pen on the desk then answered.
"you were allowed to stay through the grace of mars, i asked to bring you here so that we could talk about that" the pope led his hand to an open sit to his desk Elijah sat there "what caused you to be here?" the pope asked in a clam voice Elijah's eyes darted around the room.
(What the hell should i even say to him?,should i just say"hey im Elijah i'm not form this world i got stuck in this body then i was attacked by this fucked up looking dog then i was tortured and killed".
no, i shouldn't say that the chances of him believing me is low besides even if he has taken me in i don't know much about anything in this world, there are my memory fragments but those are very vague) he took in a deep breath he lowered his face to an angle where his eyes could not be seen standing up.
the pope was about to speak when Elijah started to speak "before i got here i was just sleeping in my apparent like i would normally…then i heard a knock at the door i wasn't expecting anyone to come by at that hour, there is my roommate but i haven't seen him in months, i knew something was off because he has a key to the apartment so he would have no need to Knock on the door, i didnt wanna test anything so i jumped out a window then came running down the streets ".
the pope gave Elijah a shocked expression it was as if someone told him that one of his family members died "A-are you sure you didn't break anything when you jumped?" Elijah gave a wide grin" the jump wasn't that far so im fine" the pope sighed relief then he asked another question" when did you graduate?" Elijah went stiff.
(How do I even respond to that?...Come on, think!) he found an answer but before he answered the pope he though a little deeper, a fragment of the past appeared in his head he wore a long black gown with a blue hat he had the symbol of knowledge on his right breast there was a date on a mirror he could read it clearly it said 'december 20 1429' elijah responded to the pope"i graduated 3 months ago.."
