Chapter 5 - light

" i will report this issue so don't worry about your home for now" the pope exclaimed Elijah was about to get up when the pope stopped him "i know this is kinda late but my name is Bargi Garnier" Bargi smiled Elijah was about to say something but Bargi stopped him"i already know your name Elijah"Bargi exclaimed, Elijah stood up form his seat he was about to walk out but Bargi once again stopped him"what do you plan on doing here Elijah?'' Elijah stood there for a while.

(I honestly don't know what I want to do right now, probably to get back my memories..maybe that could give me a clue on how i got here?) Elijah thought honestly,"I don't know what I want to do …probably get a job I guess?" the pope got out of his seat.

He took off his hat, his hair was short, curly, jet black "I could give you a job here… but that would just force you to join this church …what about obtaining an oath?".

ELijah had a puzzled expression "what do you mean by oath?" Bragi's facial expression curled up into a wide grin from ear to ear.

Elijah was spoked by this so he took a few steps back,"an oath is a promise you make with a higher being of existence." Bargi Added, at first Elijah had a puzzled expression but after a few seconds he had realized what bargi meant.

Elijah got an idea about what he meant by a promise "so to sum up what you just said, an oath is a promise you make with a being of higher existence, such as gods?" He asked, Bargi had a surprised expression, then slowly nodded.

"you're a great listener, that's a great quality to have" Elijah was slightly confused but Bargi continued to speak "an oath is created to promise a deity that you will not stray from their path, in exchange for that promise we humans gain powers.

Such as me, I follow the god of combat i pelleged to always fight with my soul and spirit.

Now i'll go into the finer details of an oath, the promise we made with a higher being allows us to gain some of their abilities, think of it like passing down a unique trait such as the Guardian oath , we have strength that transcends the understanding of normal people we also have mastery of close quarter combat but we have to learn these things such as other fighting styles.

these things don't come easy" Bargi face softly left up it was like he was looking back on a memory , Elijah walked to a red sofa he sat down then asked a question"even though your strength transcends the norm of human capabilities how do you grow stronger from there?" Elijah's voice sounded as if he were ready to join the Guardian oath.

"How we get stronger are through acts ..think of it as doing a deed once that deed is recognized by the higher ups you get access to a higher level but with each higher level you slowly lose yourself, these acts are separated into 9 levels, it goes from 9-1."

Bargi crossed his arms then added in a rough voice"Don't think getting an oath means that your life gets easier, your life will only get worse from that point on."

his voice slowly calmed down "that's just to warn you of what to come if you chose to go down this path…stay in the church if you wish to go down this path, leave the room and this church if you wish to live as a normal human being" Elijah looked to the door 'i can live a normal life?....no that's impossible with the people i've met, that dream is basically impossible'.

Elijah looked at Bargi with a grim look"With the things that have happened in my life i think it's rather impossible for me to live a simple life" Elijah still had that grim look but it slowly softened.

"I have always questioned if my life had any purpose through theses 20 years of life the only purpose to life that i have found was art, the older i got the more i realized that art just wasn't for me..i want to find a purpose…"Elijah exclaimed,

Bargi looked at him with a soft expression "i know how it feels to live life without a purpose but going onto a path of no return wont make the meaning of your life drop at your door steps, to even find a purpose you would need to find yourself the true you" Bargi sighed heavily.

Elijah stood up then slammed his hands on the desk then added"My heart is telling me that i should take this chance to find myself even if it means running around a circle for a lifetime "Bargi sighed then slowly nodded, he got up from his seat then shook Elijah's hand"once you've gone down this path there's no return.. you can join the church"

Bargi's facial expression slowly relaxed then turned into a dry chuckle ,"since I've joined the church does that mean I have to join the guardian oath?" Bargi shook his head"no, joining the church doesn't automatically get you an oath from the church.

You would have to study the name of your god then do combat training then do spiritual training…i dont think i have explained what that is…Miss daley will have to explain that to you later also develop your mind, once you advance in each level your mind slowly falls apart which is why we need to train there parts of ourselves." Bargi said with a sturin attitude.

"you will start by the end of next week, for now..you just need to decide on what path you chose to go down on" Elijah got up from his seat then waved goodbye to Bargi but before he fully walked out he added"i'm going to go check up on my old apartment" Bargi waved goodbye,Elijah walked out of the church then went down the streets he passed by last night.

By the time he was almost there he came across a bookstore, a book in front of the display window had a leather cover, covered in blue and purple like jewels. The name of the book was called "The Outsiders".
