Gao Qiang ignored the security guard completely and said coldly, "Either get out of the way or die!"
The security guard looked into Gao Qiang's cold eyes and felt a shock in his heart. He didn't dare to continue blocking and weakly said, "I suppose you forgot to stock up on supplies. In that case, feel free to come in and purchase what you need!"
The security guard stepped aside, allowing Gao Qiang to enter the store. Gao Qiang headed straight to the food section and selected some instant noodles and sausages. He was hungry and needed to replenish his energy. In this temperature, one couldn't endure for long while hungry.
Gao Qiang found an alcohol stove and began boiling the noodles. Observing this, the security guard approached and shouted, "Hey, why haven't you paid for your items? And why are you still here?"
Gao Qiang glanced up at the security guard and said coldly, "Get out!"
The security guard, realizing that Gao Qiang wasn't open to communication, turned his attention to An Ning and An Xin, the two sisters.
"Are you two with him? How unreasonable! Is he your boyfriend?" the security guard exclaimed, puzzled by the situation.
Though An Ning understood Gao Qiang's actions, she felt a little awkward. She looked at the security guard and explained, "Sir, it's the end of the world now. Paying for things doesn't really matter anymore."
The security guard, who had been stationed there for two days and was unaware of the impending end times, was still perplexed. "The end of the world? You watch too many movies. 2012 has long passed. How can it be the end of the world?" he remarked.
Before the security guard could say anything further, several burly men burst into the supermarket, their eyes gleaming at the sight of so much food and drink.
"Finally, we don't have to go hungry with all this to eat!" exclaimed the bald leader among them, grabbing a loaf of bread and devouring it. He also helped himself to the drinks nearby, and his four younger brothers followed suit without hesitation.
These men were local gangsters who hadn't prepared any food for this heavy snowfall and didn't have the means to do so. They had been hungry for the past two days and had resorted to finding food wherever they could. When they saw the open supermarket, they entered without a second thought.
The security guard, witnessing their behavior, disregarded Gao Qiang and hurriedly approached them. "Hey, what do you think you're doing? Have you paid for those?"
The bald leader looked at the security guard, his expression filled with disdain. "Pay? When will we pay? Don't count on it!" he scoffed, realizing that it was indeed the end times.
Ignoring the security guard's protest, the bald leader kicked him down and exclaimed, "Brothers, beat him! Everything in this supermarket is ours!"
Four or five gangsters immediately stepped forward and started assaulting the security guard.
Observing this scene, An Ning grew anxious. Despite the security guard's attempt to block Gao Qiang, he was merely doing his job and wasn't a bad person.
An Ning glanced at Gao Qiang, hoping he would intervene and save the security guard. However, Gao Qiang, focused on his boiling noodles, paid no attention to the fight unfolding before him.
Realizing that the security guard's life was in danger if the fight continued, An Ning felt helpless. She raised her voice and shouted, "Stop!"
Upon hearing An Ning's voice, the bald leader halted the assault. By now, the security guard was lying on the ground, heavily panting and in a vulnerable state.
Seeing An Ning, the bald leader's eyes lit up with a lewd smile. "Oh, a beautiful woman! What a bonus! Brothers, I'll go first, and the rest of you can line up!"
An Ning's face darkened. She understood the vulgar intentions behind the bald leader's words. Although he approached her, An Ning wasn't afraid. As a Taekwondo master, she knew that ordinary men wouldn't pose much of a threat to her.
With lightning-fast speed, An Ning swiftly acted, swiftly striking the bald leader and causing him to fall to the ground in defeat. The bald leader, surprised by An Ning's skills, donned a fierce expression and shouted, "Brothers, let's attack together!"
As the five gangsters approached her, An Ning began to feel flustered. It was difficult for her to handle all five opponents at once. An Xin, standing nearby, grew anxious and ran to Gao Qiang's side, pleading with him, "Brother, please save my sister. I'll do whatever you say!"
The bald leader also noticed Gao Qiang, who had been squatting down cooking noodles. "Boy, I advise you not to meddle; otherwise, you'll end up like that little security guard!"
Gao Qiang finished his noodles, feeling warmth spread throughout his body. He stood up, cast a cold glance at the bald leader, and said, "You wasted food. It's despicable!"
Everyone was stunned by Gao Qiang's words. They hadn't anticipated such a response. Without any hesitation, Gao Qiang acted swiftly. He unsheathed his black gold ancient knife, and with a swift slash, the bald leader's head, devoid of hair, fell to the ground. The other gang members were splattered with blood.
"The boss is dead?" the gangsters exclaimed, their actions momentarily frozen. They were notorious for being a little ruthless, instilling fear in ordinary people. Yet, they hadn't expected Gao Qiang's level of ruthlessness. He was willing to kill without a second thought.
They couldn't comprehend where their actions had clashed with Gao Qiang's. Was it merely due to a few loaves of bread?
Stunned, they stood motionless, forgetting even to escape. Gao Qiang wasted no time, swiftly moving from one gangster to another, ending their lives.
Gao Qiang paid no attention to the corpses on the ground but glanced at a loaf of bread nearby. Although it had been splattered with blood, he felt a tinge of regret.
"It's dirty, but it's still edible," he muttered.
An Ning approached the fallen security guard to assess his condition. She realized that the security guard had suffered severe injuries and wouldn't survive without medical attention.
"Gao Qiang, can you save him somehow?" An Ning asked, hoping for a solution.
"Why should I save him?" Gao Qiang rhetorically replied.
An Ning was taken aback by Gao Qiang's response. It hadn't occurred to her that he might refuse to save someone in need.
Gao Qiang continued calmly, "Let me teach you something. In the last days, don't meddle without reason. Saving people is the duty of a saintly figure, but I am a killer."
An Ning looked into Gao Qiang's eyes, feeling a sense of unease. She sensed that if she dared to save the security guard, Gao Qiang might consider her his enemy.
Seeing An Ning's hesitation, Gao Qiang turned away and tore open another packet of instant noodles, continuing to satisfy his hunger.
The supermarket, once filled with bustling life, now reeked of death. The aroma of food mixed with the stench of blood, creating an eerie atmosphere. Outside, the snow continued to fall heavily, covering the city in a white blanket. The end of the world had come, and humanity was teetering on the brink of collapse.
