Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 21

He took a step closer, his heart racing with anticipation. "I've missed you," he said, his voice full of longing. She reached out and took his hand, her touch sending shivers down his spine. "I've missed you too," she replied, her eyes never leaving his. They stood there for a moment, lost in each other's gaze.

But then he pulled her into his arms, holding her close as if he never wanted to let her go. And at that moment, everything else faded away, leaving only the two of them together. As I sat on the bleachers, I noticed Blake walking towards me with a smile.

With a nod, I gazed up at him and replied, "Yeah, I thought I'd check it out." With a grin on his face, he turned to his companion.

"I'm glad," he said, "but duty calls. Let's catch up later." Without waiting for a response, he sprinted towards Ryder, who was already poised and ready for action on the field.

Olivia's eyes sparkled mischievously as she leaned in toward her friend. "He's in love with you already," she whispered, unable to contain her excitement.

The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of possibility. Olivia couldn't help but giggle, her heart beating faster with anticipation. Would her friend finally realize the depth of this man's feelings for her? Only time will tell.

As I sat in my living room, the silence was shattered by the sudden sound of my phone buzzing incessantly.

I picked it up to find that my inbox had been flooded with messages, each popping up on the screen faster than I could read. My heart raced as I tried to make sense of the chaos unfolding before me.

What could be causing such a sudden influx of communication? I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as I scrolled through the endless stream of notifications, wondering what news or information awaited me.

She urgently typed the message, her fingers tapping impatiently on the screen. She waited anxiously for a response, her eyes glued to the phone. The seconds ticked by slowly, each one feeling like an eternity. Finally, a message appeared on the screen. It was short and to the point. "Where are you?" it read.

She felt a surge of frustration wash over her. Why couldn't he tell her where he was? She typed a quick reply, her fingers moving swiftly over the keys. "I'm waiting for you," she wrote.

The message flashed across her phone screen, causing her heart to skip a beat. She knew that tone all too well - it was urgent. Without hesitation, she gathered her things and rushed out the door, her mind racing about what awaited her home. As she made her way through the crowded streets, she couldn't shake the dread that had settled in her stomach. What could have happened? Was everyone okay? She pushed herself to move faster, desperate to get home and find out.

As the final bell rang, signaling the end of another long day of classes, the students began to gather their belongings and make their way out of the school building. It had been a particularly grueling day, with tests and assignments piling up one after the other.

But now, as they stepped out into the warm afternoon sun, a sense of relief washed over them. It was finally over. The school had ended an hour ago, and they were free to go home and relax.

The impatient words echoed through the empty hallway as the speaker's foot tapped anxiously against the floor. Time was of the essence, and waiting was not an option.

"Hurry the fuck up," they muttered under their breath, the urgency in their tone palpable. Every second felt like an eternity, and the tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife.

With a determined look in his eyes, he clenched his fists and declared, "Enough is enough. I'm done waiting around for this to be resolved.

It's time to take action." Without hesitation, he set out to find the person who had wronged him. His mind was focused, and his heart raced as he approached his target.

"I'm coming to get you," he muttered, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

She furrowed her brow as she scrolled through the messages on her phone. It was strange; she thought that she was only receiving them now. Had her phone been acting up? Or was it something else entirely? She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than met the eye.

My heart raced as I urgently reached for my bag beneath our seat. "Shit," I muttered, my mind racing about what could have gone wrong.

As I turned the corner, my eyes fell upon him - Damian. He stood there, tall and confident, his piercing gaze fixed upon me.

My heart skipped as I took in his rugged features and tousled hair. It was as if time stood still at that moment, and all I could do was stare.

A sense of foreboding washed over me as he strode towards the bleachers. His eyes blazed with an intensity that made me catch my breath.

It was as if a fire had been ignited within him, and I couldn't help but wonder what had caused it. Olivia's eyes widened in disbelief as she caught sight of Damian.

"Holy shit," she gasped, her jaw dropping in awe."I know he's hot; now shut up," I hissed at Olivia, trying to keep my voice low.

We were at a crowded party, and I didn't want anyone else to hear us. But Olivia just giggled and nudged me with her elbow.

"Come on, don't be shy," she said.

"You've been eyeing him all night." I rolled my eyes and took a sip of my drink, trying to ignore the flutter in my stomach.

Olivia was right, of course. I had been stealing glances at him all night, watching him laugh with his friends and charm everyone around him.

But I couldn't let Olivia know that. I couldn't let anyone know how much he was affecting me.

So I glared at her and took another sip of my drink, hoping to drown out the thoughts racing through my head. She stormed into the room, her eyes blazing with anger.

"Where the fuck were you?" she demanded, her voice sharp and accusatory. He looked up from his book, startled by her sudden outburst.

He could see the tension in her body and how her fists clenched at her sides. He knew he had to tread carefully.

"I was just out for a walk," he said, trying to keep his tone even. But she didn't have it. "A walk?" she spat.

"You were gone for hours. You didn't answer your phone. You didn't tell me where you were going.

What the hell is going on?" He sighed, knowing he couldn't keep the truth from her.

"I needed some time to think," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"About us." She froze, her eyes widening in shock.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling.

He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he had to say. "I mean that I don't know if this is working anymore," he said, his words heavy with regret.

"I don't know if I love you like I used to." She stared at him, her face pale and stricken. "What are you saying?" she whispered.

He looked away, unable to meet her gaze. "I'm saying that maybe it's time for us to go our separate ways," he said, his voice barely audible.
