The Army-Deformity under Rousse gathered on the left flank of the camp, taking cover behind the layers of crystal walls of ice and earth created by the Water and Earth bender. The ants continued to chip away at the barrier, trying to find a way to attack the Army-Deformity forces.
From the trees, the Deformity Core attacked the swarm of ants trying to scale the wall. They had been there for over forty minutes. A time that seemed so long that no reinforcements had arrived. Meanwhile, the condition of the defending troops had reached the limit of their endurance.
"We can't possibly run," Josh complained.
Sweat soaked the young man's forehead and clothes; he had expended a great deal of energy in the attack. The swarms of ants were so numerous that it was difficult for the Deformity to finish off the aliens.
"We just have to hold out a little longer," Lucas replied.
"Twenty minutes, my ass. It's been forty minutes and we're already losing power." Josh grumbled.
