Chapter 91
(Emma's Fiasco, Pt 3 of 6)
Hunter Pov:
When we first arrived in the capital I took Talia to Samuels. The house needed repairing and she couldn't stay there. I had just finished up my work with the people that had been freed. There was also a tiring thing though, some had lost part of the ability to think. Thankfully though, they began to regain it after not being exposed to something. But before I could even leave I got a summons to the castle.
So instead of heading home, I went straight to the castle and inside to a meeting room. I waited there, having some tea, as a tired King comes in. He has not slept since the night before last, so that is to be expected. "What is it?," I ask, curious as to why he had summoned me as I see a serious expression on his face.
"It seems the people who were running the operation, retaliated. Your brother and sister were clearing the mansion today with two knights. But your sister left with a beam she was carrying when she was lured away by something. It was a smell that effects everything, but Humans. She was knocked out and Kidnapped, and Jake got knocked out trying to save her. Luckily the knights got there in time to get him out, it helped that the people didn't bother taking him. Jake is currently resting in the hospital, he is expected to make a full recovery by tomorrow," The King informs me.
"I see, then I will begin my search where they were last seen. Is there anything I should be wary of?," I ask him.
"Yes, the smell of this, if you get to close it overwhelms your senses and knocks you out. So your sense of smell might me invalidated, but this is also how you find them sadly," The King says, pulling out a Jar. Inside is a liquid and he opens the top for a split second before closing it. From that comes a smell that I am drawn towards.
"Got it, then I can just filter it out so I don't smell it. Taking it's compound in, I just need to be wary of the gas released. Thankyou, and goodbye," I tell him, exiting the room. I leave the Castle and head to my carriage. There, Alfred, is waiting to drive me home.
We had not gotten a butler or maid yet since we needed to fix the house. Because of that, Samuel had decided to lend me his Butler for stuff like this. "Alfred, take me to the Hospital, Double time," I tell him as I get inside the carriage.
"As you command," He says taking off at full speed. Me, Jake and Emma don't mind Bumpy rides unlike most. The reason is due to the Glacier and we handle rough terrain better than most. That means I can also stand a Bumpy ride as well.
Once we arrive I get out and head in to the receptionist. "How may I help you?," The Human receptionist with Brown hair asks me.
"I am here to see a Jake Dire," I ask and she looks at a Sheet.
"Ok, he is over there, the second hallway on the left, first room," She tells me and I thank her as I set off. Most are surprised since I am well known due to saving the prince and princess and due to my clothes, but she isn't for some odd reason. I head into the room to see a Jake doing Pushups on his bed, that Idiot!
"I thought you were supposed to be resting and make a full recovery tomorrow?," I ask him as I hit his head with a chop. At that he cowers holding his head with both hands saying 'Ow' a bit.
"What did you do that for, you know nothing keeps me down for long. You also know I do a set amount of Pushups before bed, so just leave me be. I was almost done, let me finish so I can sleep," He tells me and I step back as he finishes.
Once he is done I step forward and ask, "Where did you last see Emma?" He looks like he has been defeated and is upset. He is in Hospital clothes while I am still in the Black and White clothes since I never got a chance to change. I would be changing though before I had set out. He had changed though earlier when he had gone hunting though.
"It was on the east Border by the Jungle, it was to the south, that is where you should start. Don't be surprised, I know my brother better than anyone, even Emma," He says as I recoiled back.
"Man, you just have to high of an Intuition. Well then, I will be off, by the way, where are the pets?," I ask him.
"The wolves were somewhere in the forest, Same for the slimes who went to eat. They haven't eaten in a long time so there is that, but follow the scent of Emma's dress. She never took it off so it should be easy. Also where is Talia?," He asks me and I nod as I leave.
"She is at Samuels, and Thankyou," I say and exit the room. I speed walk out of the building and go to my carriage. "Alfred, go to the Adventurer guild," I tell him as I get in.
"Yes sir, though may I ask why?," He asks, I guess he hasn't been filled in then.
"My sister got kidnapped, I am going to issue a bounty for her safe return," I tell him, entering the carriage. With that we set off for the center of town.
