Chapter 89
(Emma's Fiasco, Pt 1 of 6)
Emma Pov:
Now that the incident is over and the freed people have left, we have to deal with this. We have to help the knights search the entire building for information. Then we have to help them in the underground room as well. We also have to clean up the campfire and the stuff from it.
After that is all done, we can finally get to rebuilding our house. "I just want to sleep, or am I never going to get it!," I complain to Jake as we clear the stairway.
"Well, we have to clear the house to get rooms in the first place. So, technically we are hitting two birds with one stone. You can rest after we check the house, but I have a feeling the knights are going to confiscate most things. They need to check stuff over in the first place anyways. Other than that, we just need to get a cot from Halfdan and you can sleep on that, alright?," He asks me. At the same time he lifts a giant ten foot beam by himself, like it is a branch!
"Sure, but how are you even lifting that?!," I ask as he throws it outside like a spear.
"I have a high Strength stat and muscle density. Plus, you remember all that work in the glacier, I am sure you can do it to!," He tells me with a smile. So I look and find another beam, around six feet in length and go over to it. I put my hands underneath it and lift it up, expecting tension or resistance, but get nothing.
"Yay! I did it, I did it!," I chant walking around with it above my head, before taking it outside. "Where do I put this Jake?," I ask curious.
"We are going to make a pile near the edge of the clearing to the east. So just take it over there!," He says pointing to the right of the house.
"Got it!," I yell back taking it over. I head back and repeat the process with him and the knights. As we do so, I notice that Hunter is not here helping us out. "Where is Hunter, Jake? And the pets to I guess," I ask him.
"Hunter went into town to help the people get situated. As for the pets, Halfdan hasn't eaten recently, so he is out looking for food. As for the wolves, I don't know where they are, your slime is with Halfdan last I checked as well. An Talia, who you forgot, went with Hunter," Jake tells me.
"I see, I guess we really should spend more time with them. Ever since we left the glacier, we haven't been with them a lot. And I should remember Talia more," I tell him.
"Yeah," he responds. After that we finish clearing the way to the second floor. We had already cleared the first floor a while ago and the knights were searching through it. We had also found a variety of rooms on that floor as well.
On the first floor we had the Foyer, Grand Formal Dining room, Kitchen, Billiards, Sewing, Gallery, Nursery, Four full Bathrooms, a few Dozen Closets, and the Meeting room. That was a lot, and just for the first floor at that I will say. There are also little spots to plant stuff right outside all the windows. It also had a Ballroom to the side going up more than one floor.
Now that we were on the second floor, we started moving stuff out yet again. The stairway to the Third floor though, was nowhere to be seen. As we went around we also stumbled upon some bricks and stones that had broken and needed replaced. This building is in no way structurally sound, only the garage is!
The more we went around, the more we had to go around holes in the floor. But, when we finally got to the back of the house, we saw the staircase, or staircases. It was another living room, a more informal vibe though. In the center at the back, there was a stair case going up a few steps before splitting off at 90 degrees on each side. From there they went the rest of the way up to the third floor.
Though of course everything was covered in debris and stuff. In fact I could see a ray of sunlight, from the ceiling! Once we finished clearing this floor I got a better or general idea of it. It had the following rooms, Library, Drawing room, Informal Dining room, a Living room/Family room, Study, Servant room, another Kitchen, Four Bathrooms, another few Dozen closets, and five Guest Bedrooms as well.
Why in the World does this building have so many rooms! I mean it is a 300x200 building going up three story's but still. "So, that room there is the master bedroom, we may find what we need in there!," One of the knights say.
"Got it!," Jake says as we continue the tedious Job. We clear the way up there and go around the third floor doing that as the knights search. Once that is done I get a general Idea of the rooms, but still, it is a lot.
The rooms go, Master Bedroom w/ Bath, three sub Master Bedroom w/ Bath, around a Dozen regular bedrooms, and another six guest rooms. The three sub rooms are connected up to the main Master bedroom. And all of them have balconies. There are also around eight full Bathrooms on this floor as well.
As I am taking my last Beam out to the pile I smell something. I don't know what it is, but I want to know though. I put the beam down and head in the direction of the smell, East. But before I can find it, my world goes black.
