(Story from the past, Pt 10)
Jake the Survivor Pov:
"Who are you?," The man asks dumbfounding me so I laugh. "I don't get what is so funny mister Jake, sure you are very strong, but why are you laughing?," He asks.
"I am surprised you don't remember me Law ———- the second," I tell him. At that he looks at Jet who shakes his head showing Law that Jet did not tell me his name.
"Then how do you know me then? Sure I may be the GM but that is no reason for a old man to know me. Who are you really," He questions me letting out a ominous aura. I look closer and realize that he is at Silver stage, did Jet not tell him mine?
I let my aura out and say, "If you don't remember me, can you remember the president of Architect?" I asked that since we were cousins and that was when he realized who I was. Law was taller then me when I was fifteen, same when I was seventeen, he was almost as tall as my brother. I never really grew after that, I only grew an inch and remained slightly short, but after coming to this world, I grew, as did they. I grew a foot, same for them.
"It has been a while cous, how have you been?," He asks taking me into a hug.
"I've been good, over the years I explored the world, met new friends, hid that book, and defeat a Great demon single handedly," I say briefing him on my past.
"I see, but still, you missed over a dozen funerals. Didn't you know that?," He asked confused why I was gone so long.
"Well, after the first ten years I went to hide the book. Everyone agreed that, that was the most important thing. It was written in a language only the Architect council can read. I spent twenty years in that dungeon just to hide it, even then I had a hard time. But yeah, I am going to see my wife soon," I finish telling him.
"Ok, but first we have to issue you a guild card. We are going to let you choose yours as some of them are feared. Also, I would like it if you could train my son, he was one of the ones that got C rank today. After you pick, just go wait in the lobby with everyone else," He says showing me a list.
"I got it, I will take a --—— card, and I will train him, The half Beast-kin right, just tell him to go to Pacific and I'll meet him there. Just have him go and wait there, I meeting my wife who is staying there," I tell him and I leave and head to the main hall. I sit down at a table next to a wall and a waitress comes over.
"What would you like to eat?," She asks me.
"I would like a Steak, with some Root beer, That will be all," I tell her to which she nods as she leaves. I notice that she is a Beast-kin Cat with a fluffy tail. She has white hair and most men are looking at her with sinister smiles. I take my Great sword and sword and lay them against the wall. I leave my two concealed ones on though.
The name calling starts and I hear, "Cate Goodwill, please come and receive your guild card." That was one of the people who achieved C rank. Then I hear, "Evan Catacomb, please come and receive your guild card." That was another one.
"Law ———-, please come and receive your guild card," I hear. I look and see someone similar to my cousin when he was younger go up. He was around twenty years old and arrogant from the looks of it. I use sound magic and listen in on the conversation, "Your father has requested you go to this Address and wait. He is having a friend meet you for training."
"I don't need to train, plus I am already Blue in mana! Why would I need training! Who on this island other than that old man, be better than me!," He said pointing to me.
"I have not been told, all that I have been told is that he will sit down at your table once he is done with business. Now if you will leave I have to call more people up," The receptionist said dismissing him as my food arrived.
"Thankyou miss," I say to which she nods and I start eating elegantly. But then I look over to see Law harassing the waitress and no one doing anything. That kid needs a serious lesson, He is about to grab her so I activate magic. "Flash step," I cast and in a second I am in front of the waitress holding Law's wrist. Flash step utilizes internal Lightning Magic and makes me faster.
"Who do you think you are man! You probably used an artifact to get that strong!," He said trying to berate me.
"Then maybe you should know your place son!," I say bending his arm back and forcing him onto the ground. He screams in pain and fury as he is being held down by an old man.
"I'll take it from here, I know who you are, I also know this won't get you in trouble. But still you should be kinder to young men man," The guy who I sent a gaze earlier said.
"True, yes, but where I come from, what he was trying is not allowed. That would be considered a federal offense and imprisonment and guild card revoked. I don't think someone who has just started should be reckless," I say releasing him and checking on the lady. Who is noticeably blushing. I meet her later for something that is in the same book as the stuff with Cariona.
I leave and head back to my seat as Law says, "You bastard! My father will make you pay for this!" He says trying to use my cousin against me?! I laugh at it due to how it sounds. "What are you laughing a—!," He can't finish as he is interrupted.
"Mr. Jake, your battle has been reviewed and you have been given Rank A! Please come and get your guild card!," The receptionist says getting me out of the situation.
"Thankyou, have a great day!," I say going back to my food as Law the second goes to the back. I guess he is going to complain to his father then. I finish my food quickly and say goodbye, taking the bottle of Root beer with me. Then grabbing my weapons not wanting to leave them.
I head out taking a left going around the large hill the town hall is on. I take another one and enter the Aqua town part that the island is known for.
