In the morning, Anne was beside Alex, who had fallen unconscious since last night. She had laid him on the bed in her room that she had to sleep on the floor overnight. She stared at him time to time, waiting for him to wake up from his sleep.
Then she stood up from his side and struck her back against a bare couch in confusion and sympathy when she recalled how Alex shivered in his sleep the previous night. He became devastated and shouted from his sleep, somewhat begging not to be left again, leaving a pitiful mark on anyone fortune enough to lay eyes on him.
"He must have been lonely all these years," Anne whispered in empathy, and she had no choice but to have feelings of making his wish come true. She told herself she would stay by his side so that he won't feel lonely ever again.
It must have been bothersome to put a smile on his face as if he never had a terrible past. He was more pitiful being in an unconscious state.
"Hey," it was the voice of Alex. She hurriedly stood up though she thought it would be awkward to move closer to him now that he had awaken so she stood still. Yet Alex looked adamant to know why she won't help him to get up. Was she such an ungrateful person when he lai his life down to save her last night? What a lady....
"You're up."
"Yeah, I am. But I can't really get myself standing up so help me," he said and Anne quickly lifted him up, thinking it won't be awkward again now that he asked personally. Alex felt the hurt of his wounded arm as he tried stretching out. Then as he came back to his senses, he felt curious whose room he was and irritated when he saw the bed he laid in. Was.....
Anne cut in. "Don't be so irritated, I did you a favor by putting you in my bed."
He mumbled. "A bed I am not comfortable in. Seriously!"
Anne gave him an icy glare when he did not at least thank her for helping him, and Alex caught the glare. Then he knew he should have appreciated her.
"Thanks then," he said lightly.
"Gosh, see how he thanks someone that saved his life. Is this how all billionaires are?"she whispered, as she stared at him raising her brows a little. Alex argued he should be the one being thanked a lot because he saved her from being killed, and then they should call the matter off.
He asked her to have a sit beside him on the bed. She was bestowed upon by numerous thought, as to how it was awkward to sit next to a man in such position. Alex hastened her up, made her skip the thought and she sat on the bed, spacing the distance between them.
He smiled as he began to speak of how different his sleep was in that different room. He said it had been long since he had felt so good at night, because he had trouble falling asleep. And then he said seriously,
"Thanks. You have made my night a different scene throughout my whole lifetime."
She was baffled by what he said. She asked, "Throughout your lifetime?"
"Yes,"he nodded. "I never had chance to sleep soundly as a result of me having what I was not supposed to have and had done what I shouldn't have done — it is beyond your expectations so I won't say much. Actually, I was told I have been abandoned since the day I was born, and adopted by the wealthy family, Reynolds."
"So you don't belong to the family bloodline?"
He nodded. " They had taken me as their only son before their deaths but I never took them as mine even though they took care of me. That's cruel, right?"
Anne was kind of flabbergasted.
"Don't be like that. I am not as cold as then now," he said. "Now that you know I am not in the family bloodline, I restrict you from addressing me as one. Simply call me by my name."
Amid the moment, her head turned out of astonishment. She saw no reason for calling him by his name when he was her boss. Wasn't that going to be awkward? But he was adamant. Nevertheless, Anne also shared the fate of himself then Alex said,
"Then I will deduct from your monthly payment." He grinned, waiting for the choice she would make. Anyways, she agreed and besides, he was the one that asked personally.
"Alright then," she said faintly.
"And sorry about that of last time. It was a way I could use to get away from Isabella," Alex was referring to the unexpected kiss he gave her, not pausing because of guilt like other guys. Anne was a bit furious he just apologized bluntly but she couldn't show how annoyed she was.
"Ahh...it was fine."
"It was fine?" He intentionally misquoted her and she became shy.
"No. I meant I have forgotten about it already. Why are you taking it too personally?"

Amid the vast darkened tunnel, Dark Hole moaned in pain as the stab of last night left a memorable pain on him.
Winston appeared at his front and was surprised with what he saw before him. It seemed Dark Hole failed to get revenge just like on the anniversary party. His heart filled with cruelty and malice, his yearn for revenge mingling with the wish to heal his master, torrents of magic fell on Dark Hole's wound at the instant he made some incantation.
It took a while to fix the damage, however, he was internally wound as he sacrificed a lot of power to fix it. He coughed out blood when he wanted to talk but restricted his master from caring much about his issue but only face his determination on getting revenge.
"I will get better only after you have gotten revenge."
Being a cold-hearted celestial demon, he said,
"What else? You are returning my favor by healing me. So I will bounce back to shape again." With his long celestial jacket sweeping the ground as he walked to the window, he glared into the darkening space, his eyes turn green and bold with wraith. The notion in him that moment became very optimistic that he won't fail to kill Alexander next time they would meet — optimistic is even an understatement of how he was feeling.
The scene changed to the heated argument between Alex and Eugene, temper getting hotter at both parties. Eugene wouldn't stop trying to overpower Alex in the argument and he on the other side was making counterattack.
"I told you to not go. Do you have an idea what you have done?"
"But I had to protect Anne. Isn't that worthwhile for risking my life?"
"I told you that you can't move close to that woman. Okay, let me ask, do you know who the woman in the video is?" But he thought that had nothing to do with what they were talking about. "She.... she's Anne's mother!"
"What?"he was surprised. He didn't have idea it could be through, which probably was the reason why Anne was missing that ungrateful day. He imagined how unfortunate she would have felt watching such a scene.
How was that related to their argument? Eugene had just been asking questions that were not....
"You killed her!" Eugene exploded in a rage.
"What did you say? I never killed anyone, you jer-"
He cut in, " The woman is the one that accidentally died in your hands....and, she's Anne's mother! YOU ACCIDENTALLY MURDERED YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANT'S MOTHER!"
