Isabella dashed in despair into the space where her father was abducted in. She didn't mind the vast darkness, all that concerned her was the life of her father.
"Father." She shouted in despair and ran towards him. But Winston grabbed her tightly and forced her to stop, while she protested to no avail. In came a man of freezing wraith, unknown to her. Dark Hole walked to her gently and looked straight into her eyes, just attempting to scare her. It was very clear that Chairman Lee and his daughter were each other's weakness. But Isabella couldn't withstand her anger anymore and it was like the man glaring into her eyes took her as a fool. She yelled, "Why did you kidnap my father, you coward?!"
"Great, you have just done what I have been expecting from you," he said. Then he told Winston to take her off his grasp. He did not want to waste time in analyzing what he wanted from her so as to save her father. But the yell from the old man tied to the chair had been interrupting him and gave him the creeps.
He told his servant to get hold of Isabella again, an order quickly obeyed.
He made it clear that if he still interrupted him , a stab would be chiseled in his daughter's abdomen.
"I don't like wasting time; my intention is clear, save your father by running an errand for me."
"What do you want from me, you asshole?" Isabella yelled in despair and in uptight mood. She became fearless when her father was at risk, which was the greatest mistake she made bed Dark Hole would keep toying with her in the name of protecting her father.
Anne was invited to the Red Mansion by Alexander though she thought she would feel the creeps staying in a place she witnessed the ghastly death of her mother. Before going to the mansion, she had paid the police station a visit with purpose of opening the case of her dead mother.
It was then she was told that her complaint added to their motivation as they began the investigation as soon as the rumor filled the city. That was why her mind was at ease that even if the culprit murdered her in the mansion, the police would help her avenge the death of her beloved mother.
Alas, she thought why Alexander told her to come to his house all of a sudden. What intention did he have in bringing her there? Perhaps, her mother's murderer disguised as him to silence her once and for all?
She was clueless at the same time thought she had a clue — it must have been her second thought that would be true. Nevertheless, her faith endowed her actions and she headed inside the mansion, meeting the lined up figures of the maids, throwing flowers on her as she walked slowly into their midst.
"Welcome, miss Reynolds," they welcomed her as it was known to everyone the confession on the anniversary party, and Anne wanted to tell them it wasn't true, though no one had given her an eye for explanation.
Anne had no choice but to keep quiet and move in their midst as they welcome her as Alexander's lover. She just moved without knowing where to go then the butler approached her and asked her in a warm smile to take the elevator on the left.
Despite her earlier displeasure, she was happy for the great respect she was shown — like a queen. Although she would soon part ways with Alex when the word of their relationship would go down, nevertheless, she enjoyed that moment, a one in a lifetime event.
Two set of maids held her arms elegantly as she stepped out of the elevator. She doubted all these weren't a prank on her by the person who wanted to kill her and he was directing the maids to fool her by caring for her like a queen.
Upon getting into a room as the door opened barely for her, she met the sight of jewellers siding a large prismatic case endowed inside by jewellery of expensive kinds. There were pendants placed separately in diamond cases, diamond and silver bangles locked in a long case with a jeweller, and the sparkling cufflinks were a great sight to behold.
She was extremely flabbergasted by the expensive things and admired it. Although she liked it, she believed they were for someone else. The maids didn't let go of her arms yet. Consequently, in the hallway, dresses were hanged in different units, somewhat like a fashionista was attending a party wearing different dresses.
"Where are they taking me? Who even owns these jewellery and dresses?" She whispered and in the meantime, her arms were put down and the maids bowed for a superior figure in front. Anne glanced and it was Alex. She looked at him with a questioning look.
"Give us a minute," Alex told the jewellers and maids, so the two of them could have a confidential discussion. "You took long than I expected. Why?"
"Nothing," Anne said, not exposing her visit to the station. She wanted to keep her investigation a secret. "And, why did you want to see me?"
"I announced you as my girlfriend in front of everyone so I have to make the lie a real truth."
He said, told her to look back at the jewellery and dresses.
"I know they belong to someone. The person has a good taste by the way," Anne said, clueless of the whole matter. Alex nodded at her ignorance of what he was saying and he locked hands with her.
"Don't feel awkward; we have done something more awkward than this," he said as they moved to the dresses. He said, "You were looking good on the anniversary party."
"And?"
"I bought these for you," he said and Anne snapped.
"Why did you have to waste money doing what is not necessary? Telling people I am your girlfriend is a lie we both know about, but-"
He cut in, "There should be no buts. I am just trying to convince the public so there won't be any suspicion from any side. And you are the only way I can use to stop Isabella from clinging to me thinking we would marry each other. You just need to disguise, that's all."
Silence.....
"Miss Jap," Alex called the Japanese jeweller.
"Yes, Chairman Reynolds."
The woman entered.
"My girlfriend is not someone of fashion: it actually is not her thing. So I need your help choosing for her both dresses and jewellery. I hope you can do just that for me."
"Absolutely, Chairman."
(Inside Isabella's villa)
Isabella sat on her couch in despair, while she remembered what the abductor ordered her to do to save her father.
"Bring Alexander's girlfriend to this place. I will free your father after you bring her."
And she was given a powder that was praised to have the ability of taking people who inhale to a deep sleep. She took out the pouch where the powder was secreted and while gazing clearly at it, she knew it was their only chance to survive. At least, the man promised her they won't hurt Alex nor Chairman Lee, therefore, she thought there was no other reason to spare the bitch that snatched her boyfriend.
"After all, Anne is the bitch that took away my lover from me. I have no reason not to kill her, if only I would be granted the wish to strangle her to death."
WAR IN LIFE BEGINS.
