This morning I woke up believing I was going to die alone and cold, a broken heap in a muddy field. Now I am lying in a sick bed, tasked by my new master to record my thoughts and feelings in a new journal, on a fantastic ship that can go anywhere in space and time. This is outrageous. I must be dreaming on that moldy cott back at the barracks. If i am, I never want to wake up. I have escaped the misery of eternal war and death of my homeworld, and if the Masters word is true, I will never have to come back.

Master even gave me a new name to help me leave everything behind. "Your new name shall be Pip, for Great Expectations are upon you." He chuckled like he made a joke. He seems like a clever and wise man, even if i didn't understand what he meant by that. i guess in a weird way, I did die today. Dominus of Scrag died, so I could live. I think it was a sacrifice worth making.
