Chapter 92 - Mail

The next day when I went downstairs I noticed Supergirl was still here and she was hanging out with Cosmic Starlight. Walking up to them I spoke to Supergirl. "Should I make you a room as well? It will have to wait a little while, but I don't mind doing so". I was being sincere, if I could somehow make Supergirl part of my Kingdom, I wanted to.

Supergirl looked at me with knowing eyes. "Why? Are you trying to collect beauties to join your royal harem?"

"Oh, that's a good idea, but where are the beauties you mentioned? I'll add them to my harem right away, just point me to them first".

Cosmic Starlight who was beside us giggled. "You don't think I am beautiful?"

I looked at Cosmic Starlight and then to Supergirl. "Oh? Were you talking about Cosmic Starlight? Yes, she is a looker, but that's not why I invited her to stay here. She's well trained and has proven herself in the tower. Was there another pretty girl around here I didn't know about?" I teased.

I could tell Supergirl was irritated due to her face getting redder and redder before she responded to my obvious provocation. "You can pretend all you want, but I have men trying to get my attention everywhere I go. We both know I am also a beauty".

I shrugged my shoulders. "Beauty is subjective and honestly I never said you weren't pretty, were you hoping id call you pretty and add you to my imaginary harem?"

Before the beet red Kara could answer I heard the doorbell ring. I had made the Castle visible a couple of days ago because I now had Kryl to stand guard outside the Castle and many people seem to want to stop by now. It was the first time someone had rung the doorbell though.

Walking to the door, I opened it to see a mailman standing there. The young looking mailman was very obviously nervous upon seeing me answer, but he gathered his courage and spoke. "Um... Mr...I mean King Moonlight, we have quite a few letters and packages for you that we have been stacking up at the post office till now and I was asked to invite you over to grab them".

Oh, I hadn't thought about that. My castle was not only invisible this whole time, but I didn't have a mailbox or an actual address. I must have caused the post office a lot of trouble for some time. "Can I bother you to just deliver them to my door? I don't mind paying a bit if I need to".

The mailman nodded his head vigorously. "Yes, I can have them delivered in the next couple of hours if you would like, no need for payment sir ...King."

I laughed a bit at hearing the man stumble and fumble around with his words. "That would be great, I am looking forward to it".

A little over an hour later the doorbell rang again and I watched as three different ups delivery trucks pulled up in front of my Castle and started unloading in front of my door. When they were finished and left, I started to sort through all of the mail with the help of my disciples. Most of the mail was addressed simply to 'King Moonlights House' which kind of made me feel like Santa Clause as I saw many were sent by children, but after a while a couple of the letters seemed to stand out as they were not like the others.

I was most surprised to see a Royal Invitation from Atlantis to attend a masquerade ball. Who in Atlantis knows how to mail a letter and a Royal one at that? It was addressed from the King Himself and even had a wax seal on it. Luckily the date for the Ball was in a week and I hadn't missed it. I was told I could invite no more than five people. Looking at the two girls nearby I called out to them. "Would you girls like to attend a masquerade ball in Atlantis?

Both girls seemed excited when I asked them if they wanted to attend. Neither had ever been to Atlantis before and Atlantis wasn't really one to let regular people inside their Kingdom. Supergirl and Cosmic Starlight both quickly said yes out of excitement without much thought.

Seeing this I went to ask my Disciples if they also wanted to go. All three were also excited to go and also said yes. Otho who was nearby hearing this, walked over to Mayank. "Whisper, you promised me we could go out on patrol together that night, if you really want to dance, I don't mind dancing a little with you".

Whisper quickly changed his mind about going to the ball upon hearing her words. "Oh, sorry Teacher, I forgot I already promised Otho id hang out with her and I'm not great at dancing anyway".

Hearing my first Disciple, I waved my hand at his words. "It's okay". I said.

Otho grabbed Whispers gloved hand and pulled him away as she spoke to him. "Don't worry, I can teach you how to dance tonight!".

Looking over at Kryl I spoke to him. "Would you like to take Whispers place?"

Kryle shook his head no. "I have to guard the Castle".

Hearing Kryl speak, I felt somewhat bad for him. People rarely came out of the tower and when they did, they almost never climbed high enough to be one of my Knights. Cosmic Starlight was the first and she didn't want to be a Knight. So until someone adequate enough could replace him, he was the only doorman/guard.

Deciding id figure out who else to take later, I finished sorting the mail in front of me and put it away, a letter still in hand.

The letter in my hand read:

⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄⋄

Dear King Moonlight

My name is Quincy Jackson. I am 7 years old and am a Cancer Patient at Moonlight City Children's Hospital. I have been told I don't have much time left and I was hoping that you could visit me once before my time is up. You are my favorite Superhero and I think you are really cool. If I would have been able to grow up, I would have wanted to be just like you. If you are too busy I understand. You are a great Hero that fights evil with your bare fist and cool lunar blast's and you probably do not have time to see me. That's okay though! Hearing your Heroic stories is already enough for me.

Your biggest fan Quincy!

After I had read the letter, I noticed it had been written a month ago. It was unlikely he was still alive if the doctor had told him he didn't have much time. After making a clone and sending him to my filming job, I decided to rush over to Moonlight City Children's Hospital. I hoped I wasn't too late for my visit.
