Chapter 41 - Survival of the fittest

I had been training once a day for a long while now and am now easily winning battles against David Cain, one of the league of assassins top men. Some would argue that he was the top man aside from Ra's al Ghul.

I was now officially in the big leagues of martial arts, but still had lots of room to grow. Each time I fight a new opponent with a new martial arts, I learn that persons martial arts and incorporate what compliments me to my own unique martial arts. Luckily Saiyan's learn martial arts fairly easily, so it won't be long till I am the best Martial artist in the world. Watch out Karate Kid, there can only be one.

Mayank was finally starting to open his eyes, so I walked over to him, still in full costume. I will probably have to be in costume anytime I'm at my house now if he accepts my proposal. Maybe in the future I could reveal my identity to him, just not now. He didn't pass out this time upon seeing me, instead he asked me a question. "Are you really King Moonlight? Where am I? Last thing I remember was being attacked by a monster..."

I walked closer to him. "I am and you are in my house, I saved you and the other kid from Clayface earlier and then asked you to be my disciple. You passed out right after that".

"Y-Your disciple? Me? I'm just an ordinary kid. Why me? Is this a prank?" The kid had a look of confusion and shock on his face.

I put on a serious face "I wouldn't joke about this, You may be ordinary now, but if you say yes, I plan to train you. I have been paying attention to your good deeds for quite a while now and I couldn't ask for anyone better".

Mayank was too stunned to speak for a split second, instead he just nodded his head yes in response.

I laughed. "I'll take that as you saying yes. From now on this is your room. You are not to leave this room unless you are training or eating. If you need anything to make your stay more comfortable, just ask. From this moment on you are no longer Mayank when you are around me, your name is 'Moonlight Whisper' or just 'Whisper' for short".

I threw his new costume to him. "This costume can be willed on and off of you by thought alone. When around me or in my house, it needs to be on at all times. I plan to have guest over in the future and it would be awkward if youre just lounging around out of costume. Any questions"?

Mayank shook his head no.

I started walking towards the holodeck "Follow me, training starts now"

I had already thought up what he would be trained in. He won't be able to keep up with as much training as I do, so I limited his initial training to three things. His training will start with martial arts, escape arts, and flute lessons.

I had his martial arts on every other day, the days in between were filled with flute lessons and escape arts. That way it gave his body a chance to rest and heal.

I blindfolded him before we entered the holodeck, I didn't want him knowing it was fake at first, otherwise he might not do his best to survive. Once we were inside the room, I moved away from him and quietly prompted the computer to start a survival training on a deserted island with dangerous wildlife and aggressive primitive inhabitants that would try to kill him at all hours of the day.

His first training will be until he dies for the first time, no matter how many days, weeks, months, or years it takes him. The holodeck will make it harder for him each time it gets easy for him.

"Mayank, I'm leaving now. In about 30 seconds, take off your blindfold. I wish you the best of luck with your survival". After leaving him with my goodbyes, I headed out of the holodeck. It may seem cruel to put him through this type of training right away, but he needed to toughen up and this was a great way to do that.

While he was training, it was time for me to put my thief skills to use and go harass Pied Piper before stealing his flute and then slightly modifying it with the help of the systems instrument magics. Aside from regular combat, this will be Whispers main weapon.

The pied pipers flute could hypnotize people making them do whatever he wanted and also make himself invisible to others perception. I planned to add healing magic onto it, which would activate if he played the song of healing from the Zelda games.

Before stealing Pied Pipers flute, I had to find out where he was, luckily I had watchtower duty tonight and I could just look it up on the computer when I got there.

It was basically time so I beamed up only to see Flash and Supergirl chatting away. This was the first time I had seen her since she had stormed off last.

"Oh look who it is, we were just talking about you" Flash said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Oh? only good things I hope".

"I was talking about Juris 5 and how you helped out while I defended John as his lawyer" Flash puffed out his chest clearly proud of his past work.

Supergirl seemed to realize something and looked towards The Flash "I thought you said King Moonlight was the one that helped?"

"I am King Moonlight, I didn't get a chance to introduce myself before you left last time". I replied, taking pleasure in her shocked face.

Supergirl examined me up and down. "...No way, that can't be right! I've seen King Moonlight before, and you aren't him".

"Costume Change" Flash said before speeding over and tapping on my chest, mimicking myself from the past.

Supergirl's head looked like it was about to explode. She seemed almost offended by our words.

I ignored her and talked to Flash "I'm here, you can go. I'm heading to the birds nest. See you around"

"Sure thing pal" Flash didn't need to be told twice and headed towards the Javelin.

The flash might be too high energy for me to spend too much time around him, but he's also the most likable person in the League in my opinion. Being called Pal by such a person felt good.

After Flash left, I looked down from the birds nest and saw Supergirl lingering around while lost in thought. I ignored her again and got to work checking on everything. I wanted to wait for her to leave before I checked Pied Pipers whereabouts on the league computer.

Ten minutes had passed before Supergirl flew my way. I enjoyed her company as opposed to being here all alone, but I couldn't help but think it was going to be a long night.
