"Keep your eyes open for me!" he barked; "We need to stay flying! Heaven knows we won't make it long on the ground!"
Face twisted in frustration, Nexus tilted his out stretched arms- like a bird- swaying slightly to the right. Under his feet, the broad sword responded- glistening with silvery refulgence. It vibrated uncontrollably- jerking- pausing midair for no fucking reason.
Fighting to maintain control, Nexus' lips pursed, and puckered- planting his feet solidly on the blade as they hovered twenty feet in the air- drifting over the blanket of white mist in a blaze of silvery glints.
On the horizon, right over the ring of hills to the east, a halo of golden light began to emerge. Dawn bloomed softly- rising slowly- sending its golden rays screaming into the blackness of the skies.
But Nexus took no notice.
