Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Lucid dream?

The next morning, as the birds chirped and a gentle breeze brushed against his face, Alex slowly awoke from his deep sleep. His head felt heavy, likely due to the excess alcohol he had consumed the previous night. As he stirred, he realized that something was amiss. He found himself lying face-down on the bed, hugging a soft pillow beneath him. However, upon closer inspection, he discovered that the pillow was not a pillow at all but rather a hand full of cotton, firm yet soft like flesh.

In a sudden rush of realization, Alex looked down and saw Athena lying beneath him. It was Athena, the most popular girl, the reigning goddess of their high school. He couldn't believe what had transpired. He had pulled a drunk Athena onto his bed, selfishly seeking warmth and comfort amidst his own pain. Now, he felt a twinge of guilt for his actions.

Gently, he removed his hand from her body, attempting to distance himself. As his movements disturbed Athena, she woke up and immediately recognized the situation. Pushing him away, she hastily fled from his house.

Alex stood there dumbfounded, his mind racing to comprehend the events of the previous night. Looking at his bed, he noticed an eye mask lying there. Curiosity piqued, he picked it up and examined it closely. To his surprise, he realized that it wasn't an eye mask at all. It was Athena's bra. Remembering her preference for sleeping without a bra, he deduced that she must have left it behind. Blushing, he pushed the thought aside, reminding himself that nothing had truly transpired between them except for the embrace they shared.

Feeling a mix of emotions, Alex decided to put the incident aside. He knew he was unworthy of Athena's affection, and what had happened the night before was a result of their drunken state. Determined to focus on his priorities, he shifted his attention to the looming entrance exam. His future depended on passing it, and he couldn't afford to let distractions hinder his progress.

Lost in thoughts about how to overcome the exam's challenges, Alex searched for helpful videos on Metube. However, finding nothing of value, he grew bored and opened the Fastgram app to pass the time. Fastgram's travel videos often captivated him, momentarily whisking him away from his worries. As he mindlessly swiped through the treels, he stumbled upon a video that caught his attention—a video claiming to reveal the 100% real way to lucid dream.

Skeptical yet intrigued, Alex reminisced about his past attempts at lucid dreaming. He had fallen for numerous fake videos promising results, even going so far as to purchase tutorials that turned out to be scams. Nevertheless, the allure of being able to control his dreams and gain extra study time enticed him. With a mix of curiosity and doubt, he clicked on the video.

The video's host appeared on the screen, adopting a tsundere-like demeanor. Rolling his eyes at the unusual style of talking, Alex decided to give it a chance and resumed watching.

"To achieve lucid dreaming," the host began, "you need to relax and drink warm milk before going to sleep. If you have access to substances like ashwagandha, it can help calm your mind, making it easier to control your dreams."

Alex listened intently, absorbing the instructions.

"Next, set an alarm to go off precisely 3 to 3.2 hours after you fall asleep. For example, if you go to bed at 12:00 a.m., set the alarm for 3:10 a.m. When the alarm sounds at night, wake up and get out of bed. Take a 5-minute walk, both inside and outside your home, if possible. While walking, focus on your palms, opening and closing them gently. As you do so, remind yourself, both in thought and silently, whether you are in a dream or reality. Repeat the phrase "I am awake and aware" in your mind.

After 5 to 10 minutes of this palm-focused walk, return to your bed and fall back asleep. This time, as you drift into sleep, your subconscious mind will remember the action of closing your palms from the walk. In your dream, when you attempt to close your palm, your hand will pass through your fingers, triggering your realization that you are dreaming and not in reality.

At that moment, the constant mental chant of being awake and fully aware will reinforce your awareness in the dream world. You will gain control over your dream body. However, be cautious not to become overly excited, as it could elevate your heart rate and wake you up abruptly.

If, at any point, you feel like losing control of the dream or encountering a lucid nightmare, close your eyes within the dream and envision a different scenario. With this technique, the dream's setting will change, and you will regain control. Now, my friend, you have the power to do whatever you desire in the dream world. Thank you for watching the video."

The video concluded, leaving Alex with a mix of excitement and skepticism. He pondered the instructions, realizing the potential this newfound ability could bring. If he could truly lucid dream, he could utilize those dream hours for studying, effectively gaining more time to prepare for the entrance exam.

Determined to give it a try, Alex set his alarm for 3:00 a.m. before falling asleep around 11:40 p.m. He felt a surge of anticipation within him as he embarked on this uncharted journey into the realm of lucid dreaming.

Little did he know that his adventure into the dream world would not only provide him with a chance to study but also unlock a world of possibilities he had never imagined. With the techniques from the video still fresh in his mind, Alex closed his eyes, ready to explore the realm where imagination and reality intertwine.

A/n: The method used to try lucid dreaming in this chapter is actually real, I have tried this method but after gaining control of my dream I, just can't seem to control my heartbeat causing me to wake up abruptly, if you have control over your emotions or calm mind then you can try this too.
