Chapter 29 - Familiarising with the sensation of mana

Zheng glared at the bison for a few seconds before returning to the titleless book.

The other stats—strength, agility, and speed—required that someone help him out but the book didn't mention how. Another option was to use a spell that he would cast on his body, but it required that he know how to move mana. This meant that Zheng would have to hang around doing nothing or find something to keep himself busy while waiting for his father to come get him.

'I can help you learn how to move mana,' the Dream bison said to Zheng.

"F*cking you, stupid cow," Zheng replied angrily.

'It's 'f*ck you', little dragon,' the bison retorted.

"Shut up, you f*cking f*ck."

The Dream bison complimented Zheng, 'Hey, you got that one right.'

Zheng was lost for words. He didn't expect that he would be correct. He wanted to piss the beast off with the wrong cuss grammar.

The bovine asked, 'Have you ever felt lightheaded because you were unable to breathe?'

Zheng sarcastically replied, "No. Instead, my third leg became rock hard."

The Dream Bison ignored his remark and said, 'Since your body is overloaded with mana, this is the perfect moment to help you.

'You will have to hold your breath for five minutes. Don't try to breathe.'

The prince gave the bovine a ridiculous stare.

'When you begin to feel drousy, the mana in your brain will compensate for the lack of oxygen, and you will stop feeling the cerebral hypoxia.'

"Cerebral hypoxia?"

'Yeah, that is what we call the condition of the brain not getting enough oxygen. Don't ask me how I came up with the word.'

Zheng, whispering inaudibly, recited the two words twice.

The bovine said, 'Where was I? Aha, when the mana compensates for the lack of oxygen, let the moment last for a minute. During this time, you will feel the mana's sensation in your brain cells, spine and ribs. I want you to familiarise yourself with the feeling of mana in your memory because you will repeat the exercise until you can feel the mana pulsing through the air.

'I'm very sure that the mana energy density on your land isn't as dense as it is here. So this place makes it a perfect training spot.'

"But my father will be coming anytime soon."

Zheng had not an atom of anger on his face at this moment.

'That's your loss. Start the process already.'

The bovine noted how Zheng easily forgot that he was angry with it. The bovine thought,

'The young dragon is a soft hatchling. I hope that the wretched hand of life doesn't remember him and his family because I doubt that he would survive.'

The black bovine was prepared to tell Zheng that he could continue with the breathing training at home because he had excess mana leaking out of his skin pores. The leaking mana would substitute for the mana pulsing through the air.

Meanwhile, at Camelot,

The emperor was seated on a lump of concrete among the ruins of Brave City. The sun was setting, and it radiated a soft, dazzling red light on the lord of Camelot, elevating his handsome appearance.

'It is time Super guns entered the show,' Emperor Gerald thought.

He saw that the beast canons weren't effective. These Super guns had missiles that exploded on contact, and this fact worried the emperor. He feared that collateral damages would be high due to explosions. Secondly, he feared that enemies would use it to terrorise the nation. This was because Super guns were as good as grenade launchers.

The emperor thought, 'Surely, there can be a way to control them.'

"Hey, you there, soldier," Emperor Gerald called over a soldier at the foot of the wall.

"Yes, my lord," the soldier bowed fully.

Emperor Gerald broke out a small chunk of concrete from the lump he sat on. His right hand burned fiery red, sending shivers down the spine of the soldier before him. He wrote some texts on the slab and then ended it with the face of his ring imprinted on the foot of the slab.

"The Mayor's office should still be open," Emperor Gerald said to the soldier. "Take this to the mayor's desk and tell him that I, the emperor, was the one who sent you."

The emperor handed the slab to the soldier and yelled,

"Someone get this man a horse!"

He looked around to make sure he got attention. He didn't fail. A few soldiers scrambled out of their positions to get the horse. The errand soldier was given a horse from one of the parked carts, and then he was off to fulfil the emperor's wishes.

The emperor got to his feet. He watched the masons fix the wall and the soldiers diligently stand guard.

He said to their hearing, "Noble people of Camelot, you all are doing a good job. You are doing this nation a favour with your diligent services. Keep it up."

BANG!

The next thing the people saw was a huge red dragon in place of the emperor after a bolt of red lightning struck him. The red dragon took to the skies with strong gusts of wind that washed harmlessly down on the people.

This event sparked gossip among the masons and the soldiers. Some of them said the emperor was a mage who was laying low because there were other nations with more powerful mages. Another group said that the emperor was very powerful and that he occasionally went out into the unknown to conquer nations that were unaware of the dangers of the world.

At Mana Land,

Zheng has been doing the breathing exercise for almost an hour. He was now in the process of familiarising himself with the sensations of mana.

One time, the prince claimed to have memorised the sensation, but the Dream Bison wasn't sure of that. And it was correct. The bison tested the prince's memory; it sent mana to the prince's arm and asked the prince to tell it which part of his body its mana was in. The prince couldn't feel anything. His pride wouldn't let him admit defeat. With knowledge from the past, he guessed that bison sent mana to his p*nis.

The bison was pissed by the answer. It willed its mana in Zheng's arm into an electric current that non-lethally electrocuted him. The prince yelled in anguish as the electrocution lasted for three minutes.
