Alec was going through the box that contained his childhood memories. He carefully unfolded each item, feeling a rush of nostalgia with every discovery. Amidst the aged pictures and other items,he discovered a frayed journal that held a special place in his heart. It was a journal that Ms. Nancy had brought for him before she passed away, symbolising their deep bond.
Ms.Nancy was not just a caretaker for Alec; she was a mother figure who provided him with love, guidance, and support. She encouraged him to express himself through writing. Her presence filled his days with warmth, and her guidance shaped his values and outlook on life.
As he read the contents of the journal, an envelope fell from the journal and landed softly on the floor. Curiosity piqued, Alec picked it up and noticed that it was sealed with a wax stamp bearing the letters Wβthe same one in his rings.
Intrigued by the connection, Alec carefully broke the seal and unfolded the letter. However, just as he was about to read it, his phone rang, interrupting the moment.". Alec sighed and reluctantly set the letter aside, reaching for his phone instead. He wondered who could be calling him at such a crucial moment.
He immediately answered the phone when he realised it was Caroline who was calling. "Hey, Ca-," he said, but was abruptly interrupted by Caroline's ecstatic voice. "Alec! I'm throwing a party tonight, and I would love for you to come. Actually, you have to come," she continued. "It's going to be a huge celebration, and everyone will be there. You can't miss it!" Alec hesitated for a moment, torn between his curiosity about the letter and Caroline's invitation.
"Alec, pwease" he heard Caroline pleadingly say, her voice filled with anticipation. Alec couldn't resist Caroline's excitement and agreed to attend the party, knowing that he could always read the letter later.
"Perfect! We can get brahms and liszt, and plus, we can make out with a hot stranger," Caroline added mischievously. Alec chuckled at her wanton suggestion. "Alright, my sweet Caroline, I will be there tonight," he replied, a smile playing on his lips.
"But just remember, no making out with strangers unless they're actually hot," he teased, earning a giggle from Caroline. After hanging up, he organised the box and placed it under his bed, while placing the letter in his drawer, intending to read it later.

When he arrived at the Grill, he spotted Caroline and Bonnie and started walking towards them with a grin on his face. Just as he was about to join Caroline and Bonnie, Bonnie's expression suddenly changed. She frowned and quickly walked away, leaving Caroline alone.
He wondered what could have upset Bonnie so suddenly, or was it because of me? Did I do something wrong? He couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt, wondering if his presence had caused Bonnie's sudden change in demeanour. He decided to approach Caroline and ask if she knew what might have happened.
"Hey Care, what happened?" He asked Caroline, who looked agitated but forced a smile when she heard his question. "No, it's nothing." Seeing his face, Caroline continued, "It had nothing to do with you; I just asked for my necklace back, but she got all defensive and refused to give it back to me." She groaned in frustration.
"Ugh, anyway, I need to go. Go fetch your drink, and I'll join you later. Alright, bye!" She told him before storming off somewhere, clearly frustrated with what happened.

"Oh, hey Alec." While he was looking around, he heard someone call up his name. Glancing behind him, he noticed Stefan smile and nod at him. He walked towards Stefan and gave him a smile in return. "Hey Stefan, what's up?" Alec asked Stefan, who just shrugged and replied, "Not much, just playing pool." Alec nodded his head.
"So your birthday is today? If you don't mind me asking, How old are you really?"Alec asked, genuinely curious. Stefan chuckled and said, "Yeahh. Well, let's just say I'm a hundred and sixty-two years old." Alec raised his brow in surprise and let out a laugh. "You're that old, huh?" Stefan chuckled again and replied, "Yep, I've seen a lot in my time."
"Whose the blonde girl talking to Elena anyway? I saw you keep glancing in their direction." Alec smirked and said, "Oh, that's Lexi, my oldest friend." He responded with a smile.
"Oldest, huh? So she's a vampire too?" Alec whispered. "Yeah, she's been around for a while as well. We've been through a lot together," Stefan replied, his tone filled with nostalgia. "But nothing romantic involved," he added, seeing my face.
"Uh, pool?" he suggested, smiling. I looked at Stefan, surprised by his suggestion. "Sure, why not?" I replied, returning his smile.

Alec went to get a drink at the bar, leaving Elena and Stefan by themselves. Without warning, a hand smacked down on the bar, shocking Alec as he turned around to see Lexi standing there. "Two shots of Tequilla," she said to the bartendar while eyeing Alec.
The bartendar saw her looking at Alec, who's clearly underage, and shook his head. "Sorry, but he can't be served." Lexi smirked and leaned in closer. "He can. You don't need to see ID tonight." Lexi compelled the barterdar as the guy nodded his head emotionlessly before picking up two shot glasses and starting to pour.
"Nice trick; care to teach me?" Alec teased while raising an eyebrow. Lexi chuckled and leaned back, her eyes glinting mischievously. "Sure, when you're one." Alec laughed, knowing what she meant by that.
"Well, I guess that's a no then," he replied, taking one of the shots that the bartender had poured. They clinked their glasses together and took their shots. The fiery liquid burned as it went down, leaving a warm sensation in their throats. Alec winced slightly, but Lexi seemed unfazed, her confidence radiating. "You'll get used to it," she said with a sly smile.
"Stefan told me about you, by the way," she said, taking another shot. "And why is that?" Alec asks curiously. "He always told me beforehand about the people who knew about our kind whenever I came to visit him. And you're one of them."
"Ah, I just arrived here and suddenly got thrown into a supernatural world. And it's not fun at all," Alec chuckled, remembering the day when he knew about Stefan and Damon's true identities and the chaos that ensued.
"Oh, it's not all bad. You just have to avoid the bad one, like Damon." Lexi shrugged. "Yeah, Damon has already done enough problems." Alec agreed, thinking back to the numerous times Damon had caused trouble for him and his friends. "But there are the good ones, like Stefan. He doesn't even drink human blood; he prefers animal blood." Lexi added.
"What in the bloody twilight is this?" he muttered, earning a loud chuckle from Lexi. But as they were talking to one another, Sheriff Forbes came to them. She offered a friendly smile to Alec, then stood in his eyeline as she injected vervain into Lexi. "What's going on?" Alec asked, as he was perplexed by this turn of events.
"Nothing to concern yourself with, alright?" she responded as Lexi fell back into the arms of the officers. Alec's confusion deepened as he watched Lexi being carried away by the officers. He couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, wondering what had led to this sudden intervention by Sheriff Forbes.
He quickly got up from his seat and bolted in the direction of Stefan and Elena as she motioned for him to come over to them. The trio went another way since the police at the front door did not allow anyone out of the building.

When they reached outside, they saw Lexi throw an officer into the air as she flashed her sharp fangs at Sheriff Forbes, who pointed his guns at her. The bullet went in but didn't harm her one bit. Lexi smirked with a laugh as she slowly made her way to the shefiff, who kept firing shots at her.
When Stefan was about to save Lexi, a stake suddenly pierced directly into her heart. Stefan pulled us around the wall to hide from witnessing the killing, but Alec couldn't tear his eyes away. He watched in horror as Damon killed Lexi, whose body turned grey with veins and fell to the ground unresponsive.
He immediately looked at Stefan, who was still reassuring Elena, but I could see the hurt and anger in his eyes despite trying to remain calm. "I have to kill him." Stefan said as Elena gasped in shock. She reached out to touch Stefan's arm, pleading with him to reconsider. "Stefan, there must be another way," she pleaded, her voice filled with desperation.
"He killed her. He killed Zach. He killed Tanner. He turned Vicki. I have to kill him. Everywhere that I go, pain and death follow. Damon, follow me. No more," he said, walking off but stopping when I grabbed his arm. He tried to shake it off, but I held on tightly, refusing to let go. Black veins started to emerge on my arms as Stefan visibly relaxed in my hold. "I'm sorry for your loss, but you had to think rationally, alright? Don't let it consume you," I advised through my clenched teeth as I absorbed his pain.

I immediately let go of him and walked away, leaving Elena and Stefan. As he quickly got into his car, he tried to calm himself down, but his hands were still trembling. He started to get scared when the hunger to absorb more suffering and chaos became overwhelming. He could feel he was getting stronger every time he did it.
As Alec drove away, his mind raced with conflicting emotions. The power he felt from absorbing pain was intoxicating, but the fear of losing control lingered in the back of his mind. He knew he had to find a way to channel this newfound strength without succumbing to its dark allure.

As soon as he was home, he collapsed on the bed from exhaustion. He quickly drifted to sleep and found himself in a vivid nightmare. In the dream, he was surrounded by darkness and tormented by haunting screams. There was pain and chaos everywhere.
He turned, desperately searching for an escape. As he fought against the suffocating darkness, a faint glimmer of light appeared in the distance. With a surge of determination, Alec pushed through the chaos, determined to find solace and control amidst the turmoil.
As he reached the end of the light, he saw a silhouette in the distance watching him. He breathed
deeply as he came face-to-face with an unknown woman. She suddenly strided towards him and slashed his arm, drawing blood as she chanted some foreign word.
"Impossible!" the woman suddenly exclaimed while looking at him. Alec subconsciously steps back away from her cold stare. "Your bloodline should have perished a long time ago. The witches make sure of it. Yet here you are," she spat icily. Alec's heart raced as he tried to comprehend the woman's words.
"An abomination from a cursed bloodline," she continued, her voice dripping with disdain. "You possess powers that should not exist in this world." Alec's mind raced, trying to make sense of the woman's accusations. He suddenly grabbed his head as pain shot through his temples, causing him to wince. "What do you mean? I don't understand," he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.
The pain was becoming more unbearable, but Alec didn't realise he was absorbing the pain. The woman's eyes widen when she feels the force trying to force her out of Alec's mind. She stumbled back, momentarily stunned by the power emanating from him.

Alec woke up with a jolt when he felt someone shaking him from his nighmare. He looked around, disoriented, and still felt the remnants of the intense pain in his head. As he regained his senses, Alec noticed Damon standing over him. "Whoa, whoa, relax, puppy."
"what?" Alec asked, confused, why Damon was here. "You had to control your witchy power." Damon said it again, making him more disoriented. Alec blinked, trying to process Damon's words. "Witchy power?" he repeated, his confusion deepening. Damon let out a smirk and said, "Look around you." As he looked over, he was shocked to see all the floating objects in the rooms.
All things dropped when he realised that he had unintentionally used his powers. "Since when you're a witch anyway?" questioned Damon while humming. "Well, I just knew I could do witchy stuff a few days ago." I murmered
"Why are you in my house anyway? Its 3 fuckin morning," he groaned at Damon. Damon chuckled, unaffected by Alec's groaning. "Well, I wanted to check on my favourite person in this town." Alec rolled his eyes, feeling even more annoyed by Damon's presence.
"Well, thanks for the concern, but next time maybe try checking on me during normal hours," he muttered sarcastically. Damon shrugged, still amused by Alec's irritation. "I guess I just couldn't wait to see your grumpy face," he teased, earning a glare from Alec.
"about your newfound power-" Damon continued, but I cut him off. "Save it for later," Alec interrupted, not wanting to discuss his power at such an inconvenient hour. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, hoping Damon would take the hint and leave soon.
"Alright puppy. Now go to sleep. I would leave once you were asleep. In case you lose control of your power, Damon smirked, his tone dripping with amusement. Alec rolled his eyes, knowing Damon was just trying to get a rise out of him. "Fine," he grumbled, deciding it was best to ignore Damon's teasing and get some rest. Too tired to give a fuck at Damon antic.
Once Damon was sure Alec was sleeping, he hovered over Alec, admiring his sleeping face. He carefully positioned himself beside Alec, making sure not to disturb his slumber, and hugged him. Damon couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and protectiveness towards Alec, even though he tried to deny it.As he held Alec close,he whispered softly, "Goodnight, sourface."
