I enjoyed the feeling of the wind rushing through my fur. We ran for what felt like hours. We halted at a waterfall, much like my favorite spot at home. Aya went and laid down next to the stream. Shaw slowly approached us and propped down next to us. Aya's tale starting wagging, I could hear everything she was thinking. She was purring and basically begging him to claim her. 'What do you mean claim?' I asked her. 'He is our Mate of course; he needs to claim us for the bond to be completed.' She said it like she had nothing to worry about. 'No!' I took control jolted up and ran as fast as I could back to where we came from. 'Relax, Ameera, he is our mate, it is a natural love, you will feel it.' She tried to reason with me as I ran away from Shaw. 'No, I had no choice my entire life, I will make my own choice about him!! I don't even know him!' I barked at Aya. Shaw chased after me and I could feel my senses telling me to go back to him. 'Just give him a chance, or better yet just wait, you will eventually need him more than oxygen!' she was calm like she was not worried about the outcome.
I stopped… turned and looked at Shaw approaching us. 'More than oxygen?' I asked. 'Yes, he is our other half, mates can't live without each other once they found each other.' She drooled as she said that. 'So, you are telling me he feels the same way, but what if he hurts us?' As she started answering my question, Shaw was right Infront of me and started circling us, while rubbing his body against mine. 'He is already in love with us, and besides even if he wanted to hurt us, his wolf won't allow it. His wolf will kill itself before hurting his mate.' While still watching Shaw and how he is clearly flirting with me, her words caught me off guard. 'Why would his wolf do that?' I asked confused. 'Wolves can't wait to find their mates, see it as a meeting your soul mate but with the spark in your touch, you can feel each other's pain and whatever they do, you are guaranteed to fall head over heels.' She smirked at our Mate. 'And clearly this wolf has been waiting a long time, I can smell it all over him.' She groaned under her breath. 'What do you mean?' I asked. 'Lust, he hasn't had a female in months maybe never even.' She growled in a seductive way at Shaw. I blushed instantly, luckily the fur covers it, not that I would know if a werewolf can actually blush. I felt as arousal grew deep inside me, he seemed to smell mine to, because he growled and sniffed the air and looked back at me. I could swear I saw a smirk as he looked at me. In the middle of our daze staring at each other, he suddenly turned around smirking and ran further into the forest. I found him very amusing so I chased after him. We played around like puppies running and pinning each other down. I was happy for the first time in my life.
We returned after the sun went down. As we got to the edge of the forest, I heard Shaw shift back to his human form. "Now Ameera focus on your human form to shift back it won't be as painful as the first time." And so, without looking at him, I did as he instructed me and I felt my bones shift again and there I stood back on two feet.
Gosh… I am naked. My face turned fiery red as I instinctively covered my most sacred parts of my body. I was too ashamed to look at Shaw but the hairs on my body rose as I felt his eyes boring into my body. "You are beautiful, my Luna." Shaw said as if he was drooling as he said it. "Clothes." Was all I managed to get out. "You don't have to be ashamed of yourself around me, you are my mate after all. We would mate soon anyway, when you're ready of course." At those words I looked up at him for a second before I jolted my head back down to the ground. "You're naked too." I said ashamed. "What? You don't like what you see?" he sounded like he was expecting praise from me. "No… I mean yes, of course…. I mean you are…" I stuttered could not think straight. "Hahaha, so you won't mind me coming closer, would you?" "No, stay away… Please, I… I am… naked." I stuttered again. I opened my eyes again and looked up, I did not notice he was already right up against me. I felt a warm shiver go down my spine. 'Mamma Mia he is hot.' I hear Aya say in my head. "Sshh!" I accidently said it aloud.
I stood frozen as his breath trailed over my face. My body wanted him so bad… I was about to lose control when we got interrupted by the guy from earlier, I couldn't remember his name. He was standing awkwardly a few feet away from us with a big smirk plastered over his face. Shaw growled in a threatening way at him. "You are interrupting us, Ronan!" The guy identified as Ronan had a guilty expression on his face but did not attempt to leave us alone. Shaw's face turned like he was in thought, then he looked Ronan and spoke. "I know but could you not have waited a few more minutes?" I turned to Ronan confused because he hasn't said a word. Again, they had a silence between them until Shaw faced me again. "Ameera this is Ronan my Gamma; he can't wait to meet his Luna." The last sentence he spoke through gritted teeth.
I turned back to Ronan and meekly spoke; doubt he can hear me. "Hi, Ronan it is nice to meet you." I smiled at him. "It is nice to meet you too my Luna." He was practically jumping up and down in one spot while trying to hide his excitement. "Luna? You keep calling me Luna but why?" I was not shy around Ronan for some reason, he made me feel very comfortable and welcome. "Because that is what you are, you are our Alpha's mate so that makes you, our Luna." He nudged towards Shaw, "Oh, so, like when you called Mr. Angle Alpha too, so what is an Alpha and Luna?"
Ronan was about to speak when Shaw interrupted him and I could feel anger scorching off him when I mentioned Mr. Angle." He WAS an Alpha and is not anymore, he is dead now and the difference between me and him is that I am the Alpha king, ruler of all the Alpha's in the world. You on the other hand are a Lycan, which was known to be extinct 13 years ago, coming to think of it, that was roughly when you lost your family, so they were Lycans." I struggled to catch everything he said. I am a Lycan? What is a Lycan? My family were Lycans too and why were they killed? All this ran through my head but all that escaped my lips was, "Why were my family killed?"
Shaw looked at me pitiful with a lot of sorrow in his eyes. "Ameera, there was a war then between Lycan's and rogues, rogues are wolves that abandoned their Alpha and pack or got cast out, they roam around with no pack or leader which makes them very dangerous and at that point, the rogues gathered and formed an alliance between each other. Lycans usually ruled all pack like I do now, but ever since they got extinct all Alpha fought each other to find a leader and that was my father, who had passed it down to me, after he retired. So, my dear Luna, your family got attacked and killed by rogues in a war for power."
I felt tears build up in my eyes thinking of the life I could have had, if only I was not a Lycan. My family would still be alive! After a while of taking everything in he just said my stomach growled at me. "Shaw…" I barely started my signal when both of them practically fall over each other running to get me food. I guess they heard my stomach and this thought made me shy. 'Hey, listen as a wolf you have very good hearing. Once you learn to focus your hearing you would be able to hear a pin drop about 2 yards away.' Aya explained to me, great my thoughts aren't my own. 'Don't worry neither will my thoughts be able to hide from you.' I was stunned, 'So, Aya I guess it is quite cool having a friend with you at all times. I won't feel lonely anymore.' I smirked at my wolf in my head. 'Friend, nah girl I am your best friend. Always there to help.'
I noticed that I have spaced out and Shaw is back already directing me towards a bon fire in front of the building. I never really paid attention to the building earlier, it practically looked like a palace, except it look more homy, like it was meant for higher ups but also down to earth people. I like it, my mind drifted off again as I followed Shaw towards the bon fire. So much that I never noticed the large amount of people around it bowing at Shaw. "Why are they bowing at you?" I whispered at Shaw. "They are bowing to their Luna; they have waited long for you." He had a proud look on his face looking at them. "Me…" I stutter softly. I girl got back up and approached me with an excited expression.
