Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"Hi my name is Arora, we are glad to meet you, Luna." She said it so cheerfully it was actually a bit to high pitch but sweet. I instantly felt at ease with her approach and greeted her with a broad smile. "Hi, Arora, it is nice to meet you too. Sorry I am new to this sort of thing." I stated bluntly. "O, being Luna will come naturally that is why the Moon Goddess chose you as our Alpha's mate." She giggled with no worry in her eye. "Arora, she just found out that she is a werewolf, so she doesn't know anything, not to mention the Moon Goddess." Shaw came to my rescue because I went blank at her words. Arora's face turned to shock but not for long as she returned to her usual jolly expression and it looked like it excited her even more, "O, yay, that means I can teach you everything." She turned on her heal while taking my hand and pulling me towards the group. I looked back at Shaw as a plead for 'Help, I am not ready.', but he just smiled back at me and nodded as if to say 'It will be okay.' I decided to trust him and turned towards the group. Everyone called me Luna and bowed and offered me things. It was starting to overwhelm me. I felt as my breathing hitched and climbed a rapid speed. My vision started fogging up and shortly after I blacked out, the last thing I remember was Shaw running towards me and everyone's shocked faces and gasps towards me as they wanted to help.

Shaw's POV

I watched as my pack members showered my mate with love and appreciation as they should, hoping this would make her more at ease with the situation. Unfortunately, I felt a worried feeling from Damon my instinct kicked in that of my mate's safety and bolted towards her. She collapsed in my arms just as I got there. Fear and regret rushed through me.

*A little later*

I sat at my bed where Ameera laid, so pale and weak. I should have let her rest first and she still hasn't eaten, now she had to be stabbed with a needle for IV drips. Damon whimpered and wined at our mate in my head. He wanted her to wake up, which was easy to guess I wanted it to. I am supposed to protect her not put her health in harms way. She is new to all this so I should take things slow, with everything. My heart ached and my eyes started tearing up thinking of my mate being in pain. I decided to reach out for her hand.

As our skin made contact sparks bolted through my hand all the way through my body and at that very moment Ameera opened her eyes. She looked confused and startled. I geuss the sparks woke her up. "Hi, my love, how are you doing? Please don't scare me like that again, okay?" I pleaded knowing very well she wasn't able to do that on purpose and she had no control over it. But it made me feel better. She didn't say anything back but just a slight smile on her beautiful face. Heat rushed through me as I looked at her and all I smelled was my own arousal. "Damnit!" I accidentally shouted out loud angered with myself and my lack of control. I excused myself and rushed out of the room. Only after being about 12 meters from hef did my arousal dial down a bit.

Ameera's POV

I watched as Shaw practically run away from me and that made me extremely self-conscious. Feeling sad about myself I started hearing Aya laugh in my head. 'What is so funny? He ran away from us.' I growled at her visibly irritated by her lack of seriousness at this point. 'Ohoa relax, he didn't run away from us because there's something wrong with us, he ran because he got aroused by us. And he practically felt ashamed by it.' she smirked at me. 'Aroused? As in sexually attracted to us?' my eyes widened as the thought crossed my mind. 'Mhmm, and by the smell I picked up he was really at the verge of pouncing us.' Aya sounded so proud as she said that. ' I don' t think I feel the same about him and come on I barely know the guy, mate or not. ' I said with the utmost irritation because I somehow doubted my words as I said it.

I was not sleepy and I really wanted to get myself some solid foods so I got up pulled out the needle from my arm and surprisingly it did not hurt as much as I thought it would and then steadily left the room I was in. I looked to the left and all I saw was a never ending corridor with multiple doors to the left and right of it then I looked right and it was pretty much the same except for a starecase on the left which only went down. 'Geuss I am on the top floor then.' I murmured to Aya who seems to be ignoring me now since I made that remark earlier.

I slowly moved towords the stare case and took each step down with caution, I could feel my body was on the verge of collapsing. So I focused hard and went down slowly. I reach one floor below the one I was on and it almost looked like I never left the top floor. 'How big is this place?' i kinda asked myself but forgot Aya would hear it to and she decided its a good time to answer me now. ' He is the King of Alphas of course so much bigger than you would think.'

I turned around to head one more floor down. Not wanting to say anything further on that topic. When I finally reached the next floor I saw multiple people but its exactly as the first two except this floor was accupied. I don' t feel comfortable around people so I moved on to the next floor hoping to reach a kitchen or anything really with food in it. I reach the next floor and finally seemed as this would be the first floor by the staircase shows there is more floors down. 'Do you think the kitchen would be here somewhere?' I asked hoping Aya could sense food nearby. 'Well I know as much as you do but I smell chicken soup in two door down the hall to the right.' I felt like face planting myself for not noticing the amazing aroura coming from there.

I stepped down the last step but didn't realize my body is caving in as my foot touched the ground and then it felt like the ground was giving in under me. But before my head could make contact with ground something stopped me and the first thing I noticed was the tingking spark feeling coursing through me. 'Wow he saved us twice it seems.' Aya growled seductively in my head. Before I could turn too look at the face of my savious he swept me up into bridal style. Confused and flustered I gazed at him. "Why are you carrying me?" I asked bewildered

"What are you doing here my queen?" he audibly asked in a stern voice like I did something wrong.

Irritated with his attitude I wiggled myself out of his arms and turned to face him, "Well should I have rather asked permission to have food? Since you just ran out and said nothing, I decided I would just find the kitchen on my own." Shaw's eyes grew like he was just slapped through the face by a two-year-old. "I am sorry, I didn't mean it like that, I was just concerned about your health walking down four flights of stairs." His breath was shaky as if he was scared of saying something wrong that might offend me. This made me chuckle, he actually cares about how I feel and he truly is giving his best foot forward. Lost in my thoughts I jumped a little when Shaw responded to my reaction. "What is so funny my queen?" he was totally lost had no idea what I was thinking.

"Oh, nothing, don't mind me, please take me to the kitchen where that amazing smell is coming from." I pleaded and without much thought took his hand to support myself while walking next to him as he guides me two doors down to the right.

I stood frozen in my steps when I laid eyes on the kitchen it was as big as those you would read about in castles it was breathtaking. Judging by the smug look on Shaw's face I could see he felt proud of himself after seeing my first reaction. 'He's a cocky one, isn't he?' I thought. 'I like it!' Aya purred in my head. 'Yeah, well it depends if he is too full of himself or just trying to impress us.' I said sternly, still not ready to trust this man that just walked into my life and even though he saved me doesn't mean he won't be my next torturous hell.
