Jake had taken minutes to admire the enchanted armour and appreciate its magnificence and how expertly it was crafted then finally the elders started chanting a spell simultaneously and in unison.
"Insertia menisco ecti cona de rase"
The top part of the staffs of the elders were glowing brightly as they continuously chanted the spell. Their voices echoed in the enclosed space, reverberating against the walls and creating a somewhat ominous atmosphere.
Jake felt a bit threatened as he watched the elders chant the spell so he made sure to be ready for anything that might happen while ensuring he had a clear sight of everyone in the room since he did not exactly trust any of them. That included Rheya.
The show-glass which contained the enchanted armour was suddenly no longer there and the elders had now stopped chanting.
The ominous atmosphere Jake was feeling in the room earlier was gone and now he could see the enchanted armour with nothing obstructing him from touching it.
"You may touch it if you want to." Serryl said to Jake, seeing that he clearly wanted to walk up to the armour and feel it.
Jake walked up to the platform where the armour was placed on a mannequin and as he ran his hand on the surface of the breastplate, he felt how smooth the armour was despite it having been through several battles. There was not a single scratch on the armour and it looked as if it was crafted not long ago.
"This is the armour that was used by the original owner of your magic. Magic mimicry." Viesagol explained. "It is called the enchanted armour because after it was crafted by our finest, the elders of the true mages during that era casted a permanent spell on it to ensure it was suitable and sufficient enough for the primogenitor. It was made purely using the crystals obtained from beasts. The strongest ones. Creatures of immense power."
"You mean mythical ranked beasts?" Jake asked.
"Mythical ranked?" Viesagol asked.
"Yeah the human military ranked the beasts according to how strong they are and the highest are the mythical ranked beasts." Jake said. "I've never seen one though. How did you guys manage to kill the number of mythical ranked beasts required to create an armour like this?"
"The enchanted armour is not something that was made in a day." Raistrel said.
"It took at least a decade to gather the crystals that was needed." Zedron said to Jake. "After all it is not everyday a 'mythical ranked beast' according to you, is encountered. Then several months was needed to actually craft the armour and for the elders to enchant it."
"But someone will definitely have fought with this armour before. How come there aren't any dents or scratches on it?" Jake asked.
"The armour has healing properties." Daeriela explained. "Even if the armour gets destroyed by chance, as long as all the pieces of it are present, it fixes itself and joins back together until it is whole again."
"That's awesome." Jake said, astonished that an armour could be capable of fixing itself even when in pieces. "What else can it do?"
"Why ruin the surprise?" Zedron said as his lips curved upwards and formed a witty smile.
"Well are you going to put it on or are we all going to stand here and answer your stupid questions?" Firsena asked harshly.
"Easy Firsena." Raistrel said. "But she is right. We have been absent from the matters we have to deal with for too long."
"If you guys insist." Jake said with a pleased smile on his face like a child who had just been given permission to roam around in areas that were off-limits.
Jake took off the hooded clothing he was wearing, not being bothered because he was also wearing undergarments.
The first part of the armour Jake took from the mannequin was the breastplate and as he put it on, he received a system notification.
[Mythical ranked breastplate detected]
[Equip the full armour set to access attributes]
'That's interesting.' Jake thought and picked up another part of the armour – the brassards.
He received the same notification from the system when he put on the brassards and the other parts of the armour.
After equipping the full set of armour, Jake received another system notification and saw that he had gotten a different message.
[Mythical ranked armour set detected: Enchanted Armour]
[Attributes will now be accessed]
At that moment, another system screen was created and at the top of the screen, [Enchanted Armour] appeared there.
'So this is a system screen specifically for the enchanted armour.' Jake realized. He changed the system screen to see the effect the armour had on his stats and was confounded by what he saw.
[Jake Cayden]
[Level: 30]
[Health:700/700]
[Species:Human*]
[Strength:119 +150]
[Speed:130 +150]
[Endurance:119 +150]
[Mental Moxie:100 +150]
[Mana:54/85]
[Magic:85]
[Element: None]
[Ability: Magic mimicry]
[Exp: 59400/100000]
'The armour did more than double my stats!' Jake thought, excited yet extremely amazed by how much the armour affected his stats.
[Effects of enchanted armour on magic and mana is being blocked due to armour causing foreseen interruptions with magic evolution]
It did not affect his mana and magic because Jake's magic evolved as his magic stat got higher and it could not evolve with the armour increasing it anytime Jake had the armour on so the system blocked the effects of the armour.
The expression on Jake's face had changed slightly to show his reaction to the system messages he had gotten despite his attempts to hide his emotions.
The elders had seen Jake's expression change and he had been very quiet even after putting on the enchanted armour.
"Explain to me what exactly is going on here." Mithral said, drawing Jake's attention away from the system and back towards the elders.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked, deciding to check out the system later on.
"You have been staring into thin air for some minutes now." Viesagol said.
"Almost like you were looking at something that the rest of us could not see." Zedron said. Suspicion could be heard in his voice and Jake knew he had messed up a bit back there.
"I was just getting used to the feeling of the armour." Jake said.
The elders did not quite believe Jake but unless they wanted to force the truth out of him which they could, they had to let it go.
"I agreed to your binding contract." Jake said, tapping the brassard of his right arm with the tip of the gauntlet. "You practically made me your slave but no worries. You gave me this armour which I love by the way but now I think it's time you sent me back to Veda."
