Andrea had just learned that his daughter was actually alive and the almost certain possibility that he had met her already made him relieved. Lumian had not clearly told him that Kalvrie was his daughter even though he had definitely given subtle hints about it.
To be absolutely sure, before he started looking for Kalvrie and tell her she's his daughter, Andrea was going to see someone although it would be kind of difficult.
He was currently heading to the castle where the Master resides. Andrea knew he was taking a risk by going to see the Master, after all he was banished by the Master. But it was a risk he needed to take if he was to be sure that Kalvrie was his daughter.
Andrea had come here hoping to get some information as to where Jake is but instead he had found out that the daughter he was supposed to have with Athriel was alive and now he had to find her.
He was walking through the streets of Vaxoryn and he barely attracted the attention of the other melynxs that were around. He was not dressed very differently from them and only a few of the older melynxs would know him.
Before long, most of the melynxs were staring at him and whispering to one another and from what they were saying, Andrea knew someone amongst them had recognized him and began telling others.
He did not look the same as he did thirty years ago and not most people would even remember what he looked like bit when one stared hard enough, the resemblance was quickly noticeable.
"Andrea Xendor?" a melynx said. "Didn't he die or something?"
"It's been years since anyone saw him. How is he here now?"
"I thought he was thrown into the castle dungeons."
"Has he been set free?"
"Was he not banished for a crime he committed?"
Andrea was hearing some of what the melynxs were saying and he knew he had to hurry to the castle. At this rate, if he did not hurry, the castle would hear about his return to Vaxoryn before he even got there.
Hurrying to the castle, Andrea passed a couple houses belonging to other chiefs of the regal families which glowed different colours. Vaxoryn had not really changed in the thirty years he had been gone.
The heat from the Sun was just as intense as he remembered which was good since the Melynxs were a race that got stronger in the sun.
They were able to absorb the heat and energy from the Sun and strengthen their own energy temporarily. The amount of energy one is able to absorb from the sunlight depends on the gear the person has accessed. The higher the access to one's own energy, the more energy that can be absorbed from the Sun.
It is because of this that when Jake got the system initially, he would receive exp from being in the sun for a certain amount of time but Jake is only half melynx, so eventually he stopped getting exp from being in the sun and the sun stopped having any effect on him.
Some people moved from one place to another on Vaxoryn by flying with their energy. Those who were unable to fly because they were yet to access the second gear of their energy moved by flying in aircrafts.
The aircrafts were powered by the energy of whoever was flying it. Although they were not necessarily designed or created for battle, they still had a few features for protection.
They had a somewhat streamlined shape to enable them move faster in the air with lower resistance. They had small circular drones equipped on the outside which could be released and create a force field to block attacks. The drones could also be used for communication and for purposes of scouting as well.
Getting to the large castle gates, there were no less than five guards standing at the front of the castle gates only and there were more guards surrounding the grand fence of the castle which went round in a circle.
The walls of the fence were not so high but they were certainly sturdy enough to withstand most attacks that may occur.
The guards stopped Andrea as expected even after he told them who he was. Andrea was thinking of a way to get in when a person wearing an all black outfit descended from the steps in front of the castle and opened the gates from the inside.
The black outfit seemed to be some type of armour in disguise which also included a helmet that looked more like a mask. The person underneath the outfit was completely hidden and where eyes were supposed to be in the helmet, there was a kind of thin black cloth there to hide the person's eyes.
From a window in one of the storeys of the castle, Andrea recognized the Master looking down at him.
As the person in the black outfit opened the gates from the inside, the guards standing in front of the gates gave a slight bow and let Andrea through.
"Good to see you too Ezrendil." Andrea said as he walked past the guards and straight into the castle.
The Master was already seated at the far end of the room, the grey hair on his head more than before and his bent posture was more pronounced now. But he was still able to command respect from his subjects.
Entering the room, Andrea saw the Master seated at the far end of the room as usual and guards were lined by the walls. His mind went back to the exact way it was when he walked in and saw Athriel on the floor, beaten up, thirty years ago.
Andrea brought his mind back to the present and walked forward towards the Master.
Ezrendil had also gone to the Master and was now at his right hand side.
"Some things don't change, do they?" Andrea said to the Master.
"I always wondered when you would come back." the Master said in a strong and firm voice that did not match his appearance. "It has been a while Andrea."
"What happened to Athriel and the baby after you unjustly banished me?" Andrea asked, showing the Master no respect whatsoever.
"Unjustly banished you?" the Master said. "You mean you did not deserve to be punished after breaking one of the rules?"
"You mean a rule that says regals must not be intimate with non-regals? That is total nonsense." Andrea shouted.
"But a rule nonetheless." the Master said. "Why have you come here?"
"What happened to Athriel and the baby?"
"Athriel was punished by death but I let the baby live." the Master replied. "It was just a child and I am no monster."
"If that's what you tell yourself so you can sleep better at night." Andrea said. "What happened to the child?"
"I ordered Lumian to care for it. No matter the circumstances, it is still a Xendor and therefore should be raised in the Xendor family."
'I knew Lumian would never voluntarily look after a child.' Andrea thought. 'This means that Kalvrie is truly my daughter.'
Andrea turned around and was about to leave the castle but was stopped by the Master.
"You are still banished from Vaxoryn." the Master said. "But I give you nothing more than five hours to find your daughter and leave. Alone of course. Your daughter still remains one of us."
"And if she decides she wants to come with me?" Andrea asked.
"That would be unfortunate because she will not be allowed to do so." the Master answered.
"You have not seen the last of me father." Andrea said. "I will be back to end this reign of yours and free the Melynxs." he said then left the castle. Now he needed to figure out how to find Kalvrie.
