Chapter 154 - Stranger In The Shadows

Sitting round in a half circle, Anna had just told them how she got the power she had now and how it would keep increasing. But what had caught their attention after the whole story was the fact that Catherine's elder sister, Caitlin, had also gone through the whole thing Anna had just narrated.

"Caitlin was in Ansteria a few weeks ago." Nikki said.

"Yeah." Louisa concurred. "After she heard about Cat's death, she came to Ansteria and she met her father, Cassie and her aunt as well."

"Most of us were at Cat's funeral." Ayo said. "You guys probably saw Caitlin and didn't even know."

"How could we have known?" Kevin asked. "I didn't even know she had a sister."

"I feel like we're getting sidetracked here." Sky said. "I asked Anna a question, she answered it, and now I think we should get back to why we're actually here. To train."

"Sky's right." Kyle agreed. "We should get back to training."

"You guys haven't improved your magic today so start doing that." Anna said. "The sooner your magic evolves, the sooner you get stronger."

After focusing on their magic for an hour or so, Anna stopped them. She taught them some fighting techniques and also gave them combat training. At the end of the session, Anna paired them up and made them spar with each other.

They fought one after the other, with everyone learning from the mistakes of the people sparring at that moment.

Right now Kyle was about to spar with Sky and Kevin was already positive that Sky would lose horribly.

"Don't worry about it Sky. I don't think any of us could last five minutes with Kyle." Kevin said.

"You know it's not all about the size right?" Smith asked.

"Well sure but Sky's more a pretty boy than a fighter. Have you seen his face? It's flawless. And that's coming from me." Kevin said.

Kevin did in fact have a point. Sky was incredibly dashing and extremely attractive. His tall and lean figure was enough to get the attention of any girl and his blond hair which was accentuated by his deep blue eyes practically made him irresistible.

But compared to Kyle, Sky looked small. Although Sky's muscles were also very prominent, it didn't take away his elegance and Kyle was basically overshadowing Sky with his massive size.

"Remember, you're not allowed to use magic." Anna reminded them. "You may begin."

Kyle immediately charged in, going for a right hook while Sky moved back a bit and used Kyle's momentum against him by pushing his hand to the side so Kyle kept moving and then hitting him right in the ribs with his knee.

However, Kyle had used the palm of his other hand to block the hit from Sky while also using the back of his shoulder to hit Sky in the chest.

Sky had instantly regained his footing and had moved forward to hit Kyle in the gut but Kyle held his fist and Sky quickly kicked Kyle directly on the knee.

Kyle's knee bent quite a bit and the kick made Kyle groan a bit. The kick had been way stronger than what Kyle had anticipated which meant Sky was not just a pretty boy and Kevin would find that out if he ever fought with Sky.

Though Kyle still didn't have a problem. He simply needed to land a solid hit and with his strength it should be a lot for Sky to handle.

Kyle swung Sky away from his fist and when Sky landed on his feet, he saw Kyle in front of him with a punch which he immediately blocked with his two hands. But it was not enough to stop Kyle and Sky still skidded back a little.

"Sky's actually a lot stronger than he looks." Diane commented.

"Yeah." Smith agreed. "He's definitely way stronger than me. Maybe stronger than you too Kevin."

"Not a chance Smith." Kevin said. "I've had my magic way longer than him which automatically makes me stronger because I've been practicing for a longer time."

"You know Sky can literally control time right?" Nikki asked in a way that clearly depicts Kevin as an idiot. "You can just possess others like some kind of freaking parasite or whatever."

"You guys should be watching Sky and Kyle." Anna said, silencing the others. "Not talking amongst yourselves."

"What's up with Nikki and Kevin?" Violet whispered to Ayo.

"It's a long story but let's just say there's history between the two of them." Ayo whispered back.

Sky had finally hit Kyle right on his nose and Kyle thought he felt it shift just a bit.

"Wow." Kyle said. "Looks like Jake is not the only one with some serious strength. I may have been holding back a little but apparently that's not necessary. You've got this."

Rushing forward, Kyle aimed a kick at Sky's ribs which Sky blocked with his arm but Kyle did not hesitate and immediately used his second leg to kick Sky's head down to the ground.

Sky's head was bleeding from the side, close to his eye, and he got up from the ground but Anna stopped the fight.

"That's the end for today. Smith do you mind?" she said and pointed at Sky's head which Smith healed in less than ten seconds.

"I can't say this was useless but it wasn't entirely useful either." Duke said as he was about to leave.

"Then don't come tomorrow." Anna said. "No one's forcing any of you to be here."

"You know I'll be here anytime Miss Anna." Kevin said as he moved closer to her with a wink.

"Of course you will." Anna replied then traced her index finger over his jawline and her thumb over his lips. "You guys know you don't have to call me miss right?"

"Yeah but it's just so sexy." Kevin said.

"Kevin let's go." Smith said as he dragged Kevin away.

Sky was also about to leave when Anna stopped him.

"Sky, you stay behind."

"Why?" Sky asked with a bit of confusion.

"I want to talk to you about something." Anna answered.

"Sure." he replied then went back to meet her.

"Hey Sky." Kyle called out. "I'll hit you up later. I've got something that might interest you."

"No problem." Sky replied Kyle then turned to Anna. "What's up? Is this about Jake?"

"No. I still don't know what happened that day. The cameras, along with most electronics in the penitentiary were down because of the stupid six-tailed wert so there was no way to see what happened in there. I'll keep trying to find him though."

"If this isn't about Jake what'd you wanna talk about?" Sky asked.

"We don't have to get to point immediately." Anna said with an alluring smile.

"Anna," Sky said with an equally alluring smile of his, "normally I'd probably pull you in right now. But I don't have time for whatever this is."

"I love that smile of yours." Anna replied, ignoring what Sky just said and moved closer to him. "But yeah this is important. Have you noticed anyone following you or anything like that?"

"What?" Sky asked, the smile leaving his face.

"Answer the question."

"I've felt like someone's been watching me or something but I never saw anyone following me." Sky replied.

"Well, someone has been following you. And if I'm not mistaken, I've met the person before."
