Stirring on the bed, Jake opened his eyes slightly and saw himself alone on the bed. Fully opening his eyes, Jake sat up and looked around, not seeing Cat, he got down from the bed and left the room.
Going downstairs, Jake saw Cat in the kitchen. "What are you doing?" Jake asked as he got down from the stairs and went to join Cat in the kitchen.
"I'm preparing lunch." Cat answered.
"You know you don't have to do that." Jake said, sitting on the counter.
Putting a spoon into the pot containing boiling contents, Cat stirred it and replied "I know, I just want to. Do you want to help me?"
"Sure. Your trusty assistant is at your service."
"Okay, taste this and tell me what you think." Cat said as she brought the spoon out of the pot and made some of the contents drop on Jake's outstretched palm.
Tasting what Cat put on his palm, Jake smiled. "Very tasty. I'm learning a lot already."
"Like what?" Cat asked.
"Like, the key to eating good food is having a good girlfriend." Jake said.
"Really? Well what else did you learn?"
"When I remember it I'll let you know. Where's Sky?"
"He went out a few minutes ago." Cat answered.
"Where'd he go?"
"I don't know, I didn't ask him. He just told me he was going out and he'll be back soon, but he was dressed to kill."
"How about my dad?" Jake asked.
"I think he's in his study. I saw him go in a while back and I haven't seen him since."
"Maybe he has a lot of work to do." Jake said. "We'll call him out when the food's ready."
'I was supposed to head to school and try to complete the last quest but I ended up sleeping instead. It doesn't matter, hopefully there's still time to go to school and complete the quest. And maybe I can train a bit with Miss Anna if she's in school. But I said I'll visit Violet, and I don't think I'll be able to do that during the week.'
Thinking for some time about what he should do and where he should go to, Jake decided to go to Violet's house. 'She said she's leaving for the academy this coming week so if I don't visit her today, I might not see her again until it's time for me to go to an academy. If I still have some time left after visiting her I can go to school and try to complete the quest quickly.'
"Okay, the food is ready." Cat said. "I'll set the table while you call Mr Dipson."
"Alright." Jake said as he got down from the counter and headed to Andrea's study. Walking behind the stairs, Jake knocked on a door by his side.
"Dad?" Jake called out.
"Hold on." Andrea said from inside the study.
Waiting outside, Jake was looking at the door. The door to the study was thicker and stronger than the other doors in the house and it had a lock which required a retina scan to unlock.
'I wonder why a study would need this kind of security, it's basically like a safe. This is the only place I haven't entered in this house.'
"Jake." Andrea said when he opened the door.
"I just came to tell you lunch has been served." Jake said.
"Okay, thanks. I'll be out in a minute."
Going back to meet Cat at the dining table, Jake said to her "Looks like it's going to be just you and me for a little while, Dad didn't sound like he's going to leave his study anytime soon."
"That's a shame, I'm sure he would have loved the food." Cat said.
"He's going to eat it when he comes out." Jake said as he sat down to eat.
After eating for a few minutes, Jake and Cat heard the door open and saw Sky walk into the living room.
"Oh, the food's ready." Sky said when he noticed Jake and Cat at the dining table eating. Going to the kitchen first, Sky washed his hands then joined Jake and Cat at the dining table.
"What did you just do?" Jake asked.
"What?" Sky asked.
"You just washed your hands before coming to eat." Jake said.
"Yeah, so?"
"Where did you go to?"
"Why do you wanna know?" Sky asked.
"Because I've never seen you wash your hands before eating, and you just washed them after you came back from where you've been. So where were you?"
"What does it matter Jake?" Cat asked. "Maybe he did something dirty with his hands when he went out and decided to wash them."
"Yeah Jake, something dirty." Sky said, thinking about what happened at the party he went to.
Sky had been having a great time at the party he went to. Loud music, dancing, some alcohol and different girls trying to get his attention while one of them had walked over to meet him. He was having a lot of fun until he saw a guy walk towards him with anger clearly seen on his face.
The guy had walked up to meet Sky and immediately grabbed Sky from the collar of his shirt.
"Hey man, what's your problem?" Sky asked.
"My problem? How about the fact that you're flirting with my girlfriend?" the guy shouted with anger.
"Whoa dude." Sky said calmly. "I didn't even know she was your girlfriend, and she started the flirting."
"You punk, do you think you can take another guy's girl just because you're more handsome?"
"Thanks for the compliment." Sky said, smiling.
"Bastard!" the guy said as he threw a punch to Sky's face.
Seeing the fist coming towards him, Sky used his forearm to deflect it while throwing a punch of his from below at the hand holding his collar.
"This shirt cost more than your entire wardrobe, hands off." Sky said as he straightened his collar.
"I'm gonna kill you." the guy said while holding the arm Sky hit.
"You can try but look, I came to party, not fight over a girl. So why don't you carry your sorry ass back where you came from, and take your girlfriend with you."
Seeing the guy jump at him, Sky moved to the side and kicked him in the stomach as he fell on the floor. "Dude seriously, you're starting to embarrass yourself."
Getting off the floor, the guy threw a punch at Sky's stomach but Sky used both of his hands to stop it and push them down then immediately brought the guy's head to his knee and hit him in the face.
"You just ruined my mood." Sky said as he saw the guy was no longer getting up then walked away.
"If you really wanna know," Sky said to Jake when he stopped thinking about the guy he beat up at the party, "I did do something dirty."
"What does that mean?" Jake asked.
"It means, I had to deal with a dirty situation where I went to. Are you going to let me eat in peace?"
When they were done eating, Cat and Jake left the house.
"I don't like it anytime you cook." Jake said.
Surprised, Cat asked "Why not?"
"Because the food is always so good, I'll eat till my stomach's full."
"Is that a bad thing?" Cat asked.
"Yes, it'll make me fat. And I have worked too hard to get my body to the condition it's in now, I can't let all that hard work go to waste."
"You have a point. I like how ripped your body is." Cat said.
"Really? So you won't like me when I'm fat?" Jake asked.
"I will, but let's not test it out. You're going to have to find a way to eat my food moderately."
"But I can't, it's just so good." Jake said pretending to salivate.
"Either you find a way or, you won't eat any food I cook."
"No, you can't do that. That would be evil, and I know my girlfriend isn't evil."
"You're right, but you can't always eat my food till your stomach can't take it anymore. Even I don't want you to become fat."
"I'll figure something out, don't worry." Jake said. 'Though I don't think I can become fat and stay fat, the system would make my body ripped again after I level up.'
"It's nice anytime you come to my house." Jake said to Cat when they reached Cat's house.
"Maybe I should come more often." Cat said.
"You should."
"Or you can come to my house more often."
"I'll think about it." Jake said as he walked with Cat to the porch.
"Want to come in?" Cat asked.
"I would, but there's someone I want to see."
"Okay, bye." Cat said then stood on the tip of her toes to kiss Jake.
"Bye." Jake said then watched her enter the house before leaving.
