In school, they all went their seperate ways, Sky went to the building for second year students, Cat went to the training room her group uses and Jake went to get something to eat before going to the training room he's been going to since he became a third year student.
Going into the training room, Jake saw everyone present apart from Miss Anna. She was the only one that hadn't gotten to school, this was the first time Jake had entered the training room and didn't see her.
Moving to meet Kevin and Smith, Jake asked "Where's Miss Anna?"
"Don't know." Kevin replied. "When I got here I didn't see her, same with Smith."
"This has not happened before, you think she won't come today?" Jake asked.
"Let's wait for a while. If we don't see her in thirty minutes, we'll go out to look for Miss Summer and see if she can tell us anything." Kevin said.
After waiting for thirty minutes, Kevin, Jake, Smith and Kyle headed for the door to search for Miss Summer.
Stepping into the corridor, they all saw Miss Anna walking towards them. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We were about to go look for you." Jake said. "Why are you late?"
"That doesn't matter. I'm here now, let's go back in."
Going back into the training room, Anna went to the doll in the room. "Sorry I'm late everyone, let's get to work. On your feet people, get over here."
Moving towards the doll, the students were wondering what they were going to do with the doll again.
"Are we testing our strength again?"
"Or maybe we're going to learn something other than the flow of magic."
"That's enough talking, you all have been focusing on your flow of magic for days now. I didn't mention it before, focusing on your flow of magic helps to increase the strength of your magic and also the physical improvement the magic does to your body."
"Seriously? You should have told us this sooner, we would have been working hard like crazy." a student said.
"That's not my fault, I did tell you focusing on your flow of magic reduces the risk of someone dying on the expeditions, didn't I? I want to see how much progress you all have made, just like last time you all will hit the doll as hard as you can. Who's first?"
Stepping forward before the others, Kevin readied his fist. "Smith, I hope you're ready to use that magic." Hitting the doll, Kevin felt pain but there was no cracking sound. Looking at the electric board, Kevin saw 4.5 as the number the doll rated his strength. "Only 0.5 as my improvement? That sucks."
"You get what you work for." Anna said smiling. "This is where we will know those who actually did what they were supposed to. Next person?"
Moving forward as Kevin went back, Jake was doing some thinking. 'If focusing on the flow of our magic helps to increase the strength of our magic and the physical improvement our bodies went through, does that mean the number I saw on the doll also has the added improvement from focusing on my magic? I haven't looked at my stats in a while, maybe it's changed.'
"Are you gonna hit it or are you just going to stand there all day?" Kevin asked.
"Calm down will you?" Jake asked then hit the doll. He didn't use the steps Anna taught him when hitting the doll, he threw a punch with the same amount of strength he used the first time when he hit the doll. Looking up, Jake could see 11
"Very good Jake, your strength increased by 1" Anna said. "Looks like you've been working diligently. Smith you go next, I want to see how much you've improved from last time."
"Okay." Moving to the doll hesitantly, Smith mustered all the strength in his body and hit the doll. Staring at the number on the electric board, Smith was overwhelmed with joy.
Also staring at the number 4 that was being displayed on the board, Jake said to Smith "Wow Smith, you really outdid yourself."
Also impressed by Smith's improvement, Anna said to him "Good job Smith, from 2 to 4. Keep it up and you'll be flipping pancakes with Kevin's head."
"I'm right here you know?" Kevin asked.
While the other students were hitting the doll to check their improvement, Jake brought up his system screen and took a look at his stats.
[Jake Cayden]
[Level: 4]

[Mental Moxie:16]
[Mana:18/18]
[Magic:15]
[Element: None]
[Ability: Magic mimicry]
[Exp: 225/800]
Jake didn't see any point in looking at the other screen and he needed to listen to what Anna was saying so he didn't check if there were any changes.
'It's as I thought. All the work I did on focusing on my magic flow gave my general stats a plus. I'm going to have to start focusing on my magic flow a lot more.'
Now paying attention to what Anna was saying, Jake could hear Anna saying something about expeditions.
"... so everyone, not just you guys, every third year student needs to be prepared before it's time to go on the expeditions. I have already taught you how to improve your magical strength, it is up to you if you're going to keep practicing or if you're going to forget everything I've taught you. We're moving to fighting techniques today, you should pay very close attention because this is where the fun is."
