On the road to his house, Jake didn't bother to call Cat. He didn't want to disturb her and he was already very exhausted from the training, the only thing that was going through his mind were thoughts of him reaching home, taking a shower and hopping into bed to get some sleep.
Jake had told Andrea about the extra training he had asked for so Andrea won't be worried if Jake wasn't home early.
'I did like today's training though, now I know how to throw a proper punch. I'm not very good at it yet but with me practicing constantly, I'll be able to do it without thinking about it.'
Entering his house, Jake saw Sky sitting in the living room, the television was on and Sky was using his phone.
Not very surprised to see Sky there, Jake asked him as he went to the living room to join him "Sky what are you still doing awake?"
"Welcome back. I didn't feel like sleeping so I thought why not come down here and watch some TV."
"Dad didn't say anything?"
"No. How did your training with that teacher go?" Sky asked.
"It was alright."
Lifting an eyebrow at Jake, Sky asked "Just alright? Last time I checked she was the hottest teacher in the whole school."
"And my girlfriend is the hottest student in the whole school. I'm gonna take a shower then go to bed, I'm beat. Good night."
"G'night."
Going up to his room, Jake shut the door and fell down on the floor. He couldn't fall on the bed because of all the sweat that was still on his body. After taking a short rest on the floor, Jake got up and went into the bathroom.
Climbing the bed after taking a very quick shower, Jake immediately fell asleep.

While they were having breakfast in the morning, Cat asked Cassie "Cassie why don't you want to go to an academy yet?"
"I'll go, but for now I just want to enjoy staying at home. I might start going to an academy tomorrow, next tomorrow, next month, I can decide to go anytime."
"But shouldn't you be joining the academy when they are accepting new students?"
"I know that's why I'll go very soon, academies aren't done with accepting students yet."
"Which academy do you want to go to?" Cat asked.
"I'm thinking of going to either the academy for soldiers or the academy for people who want to own their own company."
"Why would you make academy for soldiers an option?"
"That's where you get paid the highest, and it's not like when the Werts attack again they'll only attack the soldiers, they'll attack everyone but at least as a soldier you'll know how to defend yourself and others around you."
"I never thought of it like that." Cat said.
"Most people don't, eat quickly or mom's going to leave you and you'll have to either pay for a Glist yourself or walk to school."
"She can go, I'm going to Jake's house before I go to school."
"Yeah? To do what?"
"We'll walk to school together or if he feels like entering a Glist, we'll both enter."
"You're forgetting something." Cassie said.
"What?" Cat asked.
"The third wheel, Sky."
"Sky isn't a third wheel, I enjoy his company."
"Okay, shouldn't you get going though? And don't forget to tell mom."
"I know. You never told me, what magic do you have?"
"I have Deflection, I can redirect magical attacks back to the person who sent it. Though it's not as cool as empathic telepathy."
"Are you kidding? What good is putting thoughts into the heads of people if they can take me out with one attack?"
"I don't think you have a point. In the long run when your magic gets stronger and when you've gotten very good at using it, you will be able to read minds and project thoughts from a long distance, without the person seeing you. What you have is basically mind-control because you will be able to put a thought into a person's head and make the person do it immediately. Isn't that better than redirecting magical attacks?"
After thinking about it, Cat agreed with Cassie "I guess you're right. But your magic is cool too, you are practically immune to magical attacks. Is your magic always active or do you use it when you want to?"
"I can keep it active until my mana finishes but I'd rather not do that. It takes out of my mana so I'm focusing on increasing my mana, when my mana is high enough I can leave it active for hours if I want to."
"That's nice. I'll get going now, see ya."

"See you later dad." Sky said as he and Jake left the house. Turning around, he saw Cat walking towards their house. "Cat, what a nice surprise. You're just the girl I needed to see to brighten my morning."
Smiling and joining them on the portico, Cat said to Sky "Hello Sky."
Holding her by her waist and turning her towards him, Jake gave her a long kiss then stared into her eyes with his forehead resting on hers. "Hey beautiful, did you sleep well?"
"No, I didn't hear from you last night."
"Sorry, that's because I was..."
"We're gonna have to hear why later," Sky interrupted, "are we walking to school or getting into a Glist?"
"You're walking to school, Cat and I are getting into a Glist." Jake answered.
"Come on I know you can't do that. You can't leave me to walk to school alone while you guys are in a Glist?" Sky complained.
"He's right Jake." Cat said. "You can't do that."
"I know, I was only kidding. I've already booked the Glist, it should be here any second."
While waiting for the Glist, the three of them were talking about how amazing it was to have magic. Sky was mainly jealous of them because he didn't have his magic yet.
"Seriously guys? You have to talk about magic now? Why don't you wait till you get to school?"
"Don't worry Sky, you'll get yours... Eventually." Jake said as he chuckled.
"Stop that Jake, don't laugh at your brother." Cat said. "Don't mind him Sky, we won't talk about magic if you don't like it."
"Thank you Cat, at least you understand."
Still chuckling, Jake said to Cat "Why should we stop because he doesn't like it? When he's teasing me, does he stop because I don't like it?"
"He's your younger brother, he's privileged to some things."
"You here that Jake, pri–vi–leged." Sky said while stretching the last word.
"You're lucky she's here."
Seeing the Glist stop in front of the house, the three of them got down from the portico and entered the Glist.
"You know you're paying for your seat right?" Jake asked Sky.
"No. If you don't pay for me, Cat will pay for me."
"Seriously? You'll let a girl pay your bill?" Jake asked.
"Of course not, that's why you'll be the one to pay." Sky answered as he got into the Glist.
Sitting down in the Glist, Jake said to Sky "I'm going to surprise you one day."
"Let's keep waiting for that day." Sky replied smiling complacently as the Glist began moving.
