Andrea was in the kitchen preparing breakfast when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Morning dad." Jake said as he got down from the stairs.
"Morning." Andrea replied. "Did you sleep well?" Andrea asked as he flipped a pancake.
"No, not really."
"That examination must have been really exhausting. Even Sky's not awake yet." Andrea said. "I don't expect him to wake up until 9 O clock."
"Seriously?" Jake asked as he sat down at the dining table and rested his head on his arms. "He's gonna sleep that long?"
"Yeah. I'm surprised you're awake, you guys came back very late last night. Are you sure you don't want to sleep some more?" Andrea asked while bringing the food to the dining table.
"No." Jake answered. "I'm just hungry."
After Jake and Andrea had been eating for some minutes, Andrea who was sitting facing the stairs, saw Sky coming down.
"Sky?" Andrea asked surprised.
"Hey dad. Morning." Sky said as he went to take a seat at the dining table.
"I'm shocked to see you awake." Andrea said. "You couldn't sleep again or something?"
"I didn't feel like sleeping any longer than I already slept." Sky answered. "As soon as I woke up I came down to have breakfast."
"I honestly did not expect to see you anywhere else apart from your bed until at least 9 O clock." Andrea said. "I was just telling Jake to not think of seeing you till then."
"Sorry to disappoint you dad." Sky said sarcastically. "Next time I come back from an examination in the middle of the night and want to sleep, remind me to not wake up until you come in to wake me."
"Whatever man." Jake said. "Got any plans for today?" Jake asked Sky.
"Yes, as a matter of fact I do. When I'm done eating I am going back up to my room to continue sleeping."
"So you basically just came out to eat." Jake said.
"That's right." Sky replied. "Now if you don't mind, I would like to keep on eating without any interruptions."
"Okay. Geez talk about being cranky." Jake said while laughing a little.
"You know what?" Sky asked standing up and carrying his plate of pancakes and a bottle of syrup. "I think I'll finish my breakfast in my room."
"Come on man. What did I do?" Jake asked as he watched Sky take his food upstairs.
Looking at his dad for some kind of explanation, Andrea told him "Don't worry about it, he gets like that sometimes. Let him be alone for the moment."
Later on, when Jake was done having breakfast and had taken a shower, he told his dad he was going out and he went to Cat's house.
On getting to Cat's house, Jake knocked on the door. Coming down the stairs, Maggie opened the door and saw Jake.
"Jake." Maggie said pleasantly. "How are you?"
"I'm fine Mrs M." Jake replied. "Is Catherine home?"
"Yes dear. Come in." Maggie said while leaving the door so that Jake could come in. "Catherine." she called. "You have a visitor."
"I'm coming aunt Maggie." Cat responded. Coming down the spiral staircase, Cat was a little surprised to see Jake but she was also excited to see him. You could tell through the smile on her face. "Hi Jake." she said to Jake.
"Hey." Jake replied smiling back at her.
"Come on." she said to Jake. "Aunt Maggie we'll be in my room."
Following her up the spiral staircase, Jake went to her room.
"I didn't think you'd go anywhere today." Cat said when they got to her room. "I thought you would want to use the day to rest after the examination we did yesterday."
"What can I say? I couldn't wait to see you." Jake said as he sat down on the couch in her room. "I like the decorations of your room."
"What's special about it?" Cat asked.
"The colour. Most girls would go for their favourite colour or just naturally choose pink as the colour for their room, but you chose the colour of your eyes. Green." Jake said while looking at her eyes.
"Although you are correct, green is also my favourite colour."
"Figures."
"What do you mean?" Cat asked him.
"Well based on how often you were different outfits with the colour green, I kinda figured green had to be your favourite colour." Jake explained. "Or you're just wearing it because it really brings out the green in your eyes."
"You're quite the observer."
"I notice most of the things you wear. Even that bracelet I got for you."
Touching the bracelet which was currently on her wrist, Cat smiled. "I really like this bracelet. It just... Kinda harmonizes with my hand. You know what I mean?"
"Yeah."
Coming through the door was Maggie carrying a tray with snacks and drinks. Placing them on the centre table of the room, she went to the refrigerator and brought out two glasses. "If you need anything, I'll be in the room down the hallway. Or you can call Bella."
"Thanks Mrs M." Jake said before Maggie left the room. "Who's Bella?" Jake asked Cat.
"Our housekeeper. She's very nice, and fun to talk to. I talk to her when Cassie's not around."
"Is she home?"
"No. She's still at Klintop Academy, the competition is not over yet so the third years stayed there over the night. It's finishing today so she'll be back by nightfall."
"While we're still on the topic of third years, do you know what the school does to them to make them stronger than normal?" Jake asked with curiosity.
"No. Cassie rarely ever spoke about what happened and what she did as a third year. I tried getting her to talk about it one day and she just told me when I get there I'll know the answers to all the questions I've been asking."
"That's sort of strange, don't you think? The guy I fought that day at the party, Billy, he was very confident in being able to beat me without me even touching him. When I butted him on the head, it looked like he had something he hadn't shown yet that was I gave him that uppercut."
"That is strange." Cat agreed. "But we're going to be third years soon so whatever it is that's going on with them, we'll know when we get there."
"Yeah you're right." Jake said while taking a bite from the cracker that was among the snacks on the tray. Looking at the drinks on the tray, Jake saw it was The Drip.
The Drip was the beverage Cat had given him to drink on his first day of school and he had only stayed 20 mins before rushing to the restroom and puking it out along with everything he had eaten that day.
"Do you have anything else to drink?" Jake asked.
"Yeah what happened? You don't like The Drip?"
"I just don't feel like having it right now."
"Okay."
Cat pushed a button on a device with a speaker which was placed on the wall of her room, a voice was heard from the device. "Yes miss Catherine?"
"Sorry to bother you Mrs Bella. Can you please bring another type of beverage to my room?"
"Of course miss Catherine."
A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Opening the door, Cat collected another tray containing a different type of beverage for Jake. "Thank you Mrs Bella."
"It's no problem Miss Catherine." Bella said then left.
Placing the tray on the center table along with the other tray, Cat picked up the new beverage and gave it to Jake. "Better?" she asked him.
"Yeah. Thanks."

Unknown to them, there was a person watching them from a building across the street. "Yes ma'am. I currently have eyes on him." said the person watching to someone through a strange device. "No ma'am. When I started to follow subject 1, subject 2 was still in the house. Ok ma'am."
