Jayson strode into the private room and immediately noticed a nervous man waiting for him. The man seemed taken aback by Jayson's unexpected arrival, given that his factory had been struggling with losses and had been targeted by a government official.
"Mr. Wells, you're here!" the man exclaimed, clearly surprised.
"As I mentioned earlier, Mr. White, I am interested in purchasing your factory," Jayson replied calmly. "Please have a seat."
Mr. White was taken aback by Jayson's knowledge of his name, but he relaxed his eyebrows and took a closer look at Jao, whom he had not noticed before.
"Is this your lawyer, Mr. Wells?" Mr. White asked suspiciously, noting that Jao did not appear to be a learned individual.
"No, he is not," Jayson replied. "But let's get down to business. How much are you willing to sell your factory for?"
Mr. White hesitated before finally revealing, "The price is 10 million dollars."
Without any hesitation, Jayson responded, "Alright, I will proceed with the transaction once you transfer the title of deeds."
Mr. White was surprised by Jayson's readiness to accept the price without any negotiation. He considered taking a risk and said, "Actually, I was just joking earlier. The actual price is 15 million dollars."
Jayson's expression turned grim, and he retorted, "Mr. White, do you expect someone to pay 15 million dollars for a broken factory with no production lines? Do you plan to rob a bank?"
Mr. White's face turned pale, realizing that Jayson was not unaware of the true state of the factory. He laughed awkwardly, trying to cover up his mistake.
"I was just kidding, the price is indeed 10 million dollars," Mr. White replied, but his expression showed his discomfort.
Jayson abruptly stood up and spoke in a stern tone, "Mr. White, since you are unwilling to sell your factory, I must take my leave. My time is valuable, and I won't waste it on playing price games with you."
Mr. White looked flustered as Jayson headed towards the door, and he quickly got up to stop him with flattering words, "Mr. Jayson, you are a highly respected businessman. You understand very well that this is how the business world works. Alright, I'll sell the factory to you for 9 million dollars."
However, Jayson remained resolute, with an unyielding expression as he gazed at Mr. White and replied blandly, "If you are willing to accept 5 million dollars, then we can discuss further."
Mr. White's face turned dark, but he suppressed his dissatisfaction and sat back down. After Jayson made the payment, Mr. White transferred the title deeds to him.
After leaving the private room and feeling content, Jayson's next goal was to locate the general manager who had transformed the juice factory into a successful multinational corporation. Although he couldn't recall the name of the company he worked for, he remembered the name of the man responsible for the transformation: Ben Wallace. Jayson planned to research more about him later in his hotel room.
As he returned from his thoughts, he bumped into Daniel at the hotel entrance, causing Jayson to feel a twinge of annoyance. Dealing with the Wilson family members felt like a never-ending headache to him, as they were all equally persistent pests.
Jayson asked Daniel, his least favourite member of the Wilson family, with anger evident in his voice, "What brings you here?"
With a smile, Daniel replied, "My grandmother asked me to remind you to attend the family bouquet tomorrow, or face expulsion from the Wilson family."
Jayson was well aware that Daniel was bluffing; the matriarch of the Wilson family wouldn't pay any attention to someone like him. "What's so fascinating about the Wilson family?" he asked, his smile betraying his disbelief.
Daniel's expression turned sour, clearly unhappy with Jayson's tone.
"Do you really want to fight against the Wilson family, Jayson? Without them, you wouldn't even be able to eat or live in this hotel," Daniel warned him.
Jayson rolled his eyes in response. Although Daniel's family was a part of the Wilson family, they were merely a minor branch and had little influence compared to the core members. Jayson knew that they were trying to find a strong backer, like Gabby, to elevate their position within the family.
"Since when are you the spokesperson for the Wilson family?" Jayson replied dismissively. "Stop buzzing around me like a fly. I have more important things to do than worry about your insignificant branch of the Wilson family."
Daniel watched as Jayson walked away, feeling resentful and powerless.
As Daniel left the hotel and returned home, he found Elena and Lucy waiting for him in the company of his mother, who was sitting in the living room. Elena was visibly anxious as she asked Daniel, "How did it go?"
Daniel's face betrayed his disappointment as he shook his head and replied, "Jayson surprised me. He didn't show any regard for the matriarch of the Wilson family."
The rest of the Wilson family, who were present in the room, were taken aback by Daniel's words, their eyes widening in shock and their mouths hanging open.
Lucy was the first to snap out of the shock; she asked with an incredulous look on her face, "What did you just say?"
Daniel grumbled, "Elena, I don't know what you did to Jayson; I think he isn't in love with you anymore. We should look for someone else."
Lucy was the first to break out of the stunned silence, her expression incredulous as she asked, "What did you just say?"
Daniel grumbled, "Elena, I don't know what you did to Jayson, but it seems like he's not in love with you anymore. Maybe we should start looking for someone else."
Elena's face turned pale at Daniel's words. Mrs. Wilson hesitated before chiming in, "It's not just about kneeling. We need to bring him into the family, and then we'll deal with him properly."
The Wilson family's faces wore looks of disgust at the thought of kneeling before someone they deemed beneath them. "It's settled then. We'll go to the hotel tomorrow," Mrs. Wilson declared, waving her hand dismissively.
The atmosphere in the Wilson mansion was tense and uneasy. The next morning, they hurried to the hotel where Jayson was staying.
Jayson was jolted awake by the ringing of the telephone in his hotel room. He groggily picked up the receiver and heard the receptionist on the other end informing him that he had visitors waiting for him. Curious as to who it could be, Jayson took his time getting ready before heading down to the lobby an hour later.
As he approached the group of people waiting for him, who he recognized as the Wilson family members, a smirk formed on his face. He loudly asked them, "Are you all here to kneel?" in an attempt to draw attention to himself.
