Finally, daybreak had come. We'd made it through the night. Eddie and Bob were ready to go. Nathan and Blossom were geared up as well. The final members of our party were Ted Bradford and Henry Elms. Two of their employees, Faith and Cindy, came along. Faith Hodges was a nineteen-year-old blonde, and so was her best friend, Cindy Noelle. The two blondes were beautiful, both with long, beautiful hair. They were also both busty, sporting impressive assets in that department. Both wore tight graphic T-shirts emphasizing their hefty busts and showing off their flat stomachs. They wore tight, black leggings that perfectly highlighted their curves and showed off their long legs. A far cry from the clothing they wore the night before. They're also lovely, with their flowing blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Not to mention their hotness increased exponentially.
As I looked around, they walked around and made sure to catch my eye with a few hints and glances here and there. I couldn't really say if they were doing that on purpose. I'd need to pay attention to find out for sure. I couldn't help but stare, feeling a sudden wave of attraction wash over me. My stomach felt tingly, and I was blushing a lot. I quickly looked away and pretended not to have noticed, but I could feel their gaze on me. I felt a sudden rush of excitement that I hadn't experienced in a long time. They both seemed to be staring right at me like they knew what I was doing. My heart was pounding, and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. Something in me wanted to talk to them, get to know them better. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and the attraction growing in my heart. I was so caught up in all these new emotions that I hadn't even noticed the rush of power I was feeling from somewhere deep inside of me. I felt the blood roaring through my veins as if I was about to embark on the most fun adventure of my life.
I had to take a few deep breaths to regain composure and focus on the task at hand. I needed to take a few deep breaths to calm down and focus on what I needed to do. I was overwhelmed by their beauty, and I knew I needed to clear my head before making any decisions. I took a few deep breaths in through my nose and out through my mouth, focusing on the feeling of the air entering and leaving my lungs. As I breathed, I started to feel my body relax and my mind clear. I was able to focus on the task at hand and make a plan of action. Since all this started, I noticed how women looked at us. I meant Eddie, Bob, and me. It was strange, almost like they were drawn to us. I wasn't sure, at the moment, if that meant anything significant.
We aimed to get to Bellevue and brief the Mayor on our location. Second, we would link back up with Father Sanchez's apartment building. We were to find anyone that looked as if they were aware of the chaos in the city. Bob peers out past the barricaded front entrance. The community sent out other parties to gather supplies, locate transport, and building materials to fortify the location. Bob gave the all-clear, and our party was the first to leave. I checked in with Madison and Rory, who were the designated Ham radio and CB radio operators. They were on the roof with lookouts and snipers. Anyone that could fire a weapon was defending the apartment. We stepped outside cautiously, aware of the dangers that lurked from the previous night. Our mission was to find the necessary materials to reinforce the community's safety. We had to be quick and careful.
As we dispersed into the street, the place looked like the aftermath of a warzone. Yet the city civil servants were clearing up like nothing was wrong. The people doing the work looked like mindless drones or non-player characters. They didn't even stop to look at the well-armed people exiting the nearby building. Eddie looks at me and shakes his head, and we continue on. Daylight was burning, and we didn't have any time to waste. We had a plan, and we had to stick to it. We had to get out of the city as soon as possible. Everyone had to get out at this point. No one could be left behind.
Along the way, people kept coming to us, asking what was happening in the city. Those were the ones we told to stay put, go to one of the five safe zones, or one of the two apartments. From these people, we had a rough estimate of around forty locations where survivors were held up. A lot of citizens survived the night. For the most part, the hordes of freaks, undead monsters, and genuinely terrifying demons seemed to only be searching for certain people. It was a chilling thought but one that I had expected. They were looking for people like Father Sanchez. That was our final goal. Find more people like him. We had many leads, and the broadcasts had paid off. The information was getting out there. We had to act quickly. We had to find people like Father Sanchez and get them to safety before the monsters found them. It was a race against time, and we had to stay one step ahead.
I found myself looking for any signs of life amidst the destruction and horror. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack. All around me were rubble and corpses of those who hadn't left the city alive. Then there was the dead corpse of monsters and demons. Looking around, I couldn't help but feel hopeful seeing so many people who'd managed to make it through the night. They were looking for shelter and supplies, and I could already imagine what kind of horror they'd endured. Some of them had even managed to avoid the freaks that now roamed the city during the day. Almost everyone around me seemed to be making contacts, and word was spreading quickly about what was truly happening around here. We did confirm our suspicions about the rest of the police force, too. Whatever demonic force was behind these events had taken hold of those supposed to protect the city. It seemed as if the city had been invaded by some unknown force that had taken over the police force and turned them into its own foot soldiers. It was challenging to wrap my mind around such a horrific scenario, yet it was right in front of me. Others brought news that our fellow officers were, in fact, dead. Mere imposters that were the foot soldiers during the day. The freaks may be hiding during the day, but the crazies were free to roam during the day. Whatever was happening, this evil was invading our world.
By the time we reached Bellevue, we'd built up over a hundred people. Ben was waiting for us as we entered the garage. An army of emergency personnel aided the incoming people. There were already many already here and more arriving. The entire area was chaotic. People were trying to find their loved ones, and the noise was unbearable. It was clear that the situation was going to get worse. Ben quickly organized the emergency personnel into teams, assigning each group a specific task. He then gave clear instructions on how to proceed, ensuring everyone was working together towards a common goal. With his leadership, the situation began to stabilize.
"Good to see you made it through last night," Ben said, giving the three of us hugs. "Thanks for the explosives, Bob. I would have been dead without them," Ben added.
"What's the plan for fighting this threat?" I asked.
"The National Guard is on the way. Once they get here, we'll work on evacuating the affected civilians. The problem is where do we take them? This is happening in every major city in the country. While smaller towns seem unaffected," Ben explained.
"Then why don't we go to these towns?" Henry asked.
"This is Henry Elms. Ted Bradford and his employees helped us last night," Bob said.
"Well, that's not an option. We've got word that anyone that didn't get redirected by the Army disappeared after leaving the city. These are sporadic reports., but enough to cause concern. It's likely that what's happening to the cities has long since happened to the smaller cities and towns of the country," Ben said.
"It really is a full on invasion," Eddie said.
"Then where do we go? People can't stay in cities like this," Ted said.
"The plan is to head to Dallas, Austin, and Houston in Texas. Or Aurora, Denver, and Colorado Springs in Colorado. Those cities are doing much better than most. If we can take them back, we can evacuate there. The only other place is Hawaii. Getting there would be near impossible with the numbers we have," Ben explained.
"What about the rest of the world," Cindy questioned.
"We don't have much information," Ben said. "But it's grim."
