The continent of Mira has been divided longer than anyone can remember. many new kingdoms are formed and destroyed across the continent; dividing races, ideologies and powers.
This carried on until, out of a wreckage of war, one small city declared enough is enough.
A city state was nothing new to Mira, and although rare, a nation that desires peace has been seen before, but they never last long.
This small nation became known as Chaos city, a city born between the interception of Human, Orc and Leon kingdoms. Its residents consist of a mix of the three races and the hopeful refugees of war, looking for a place to settle.
This is where we start our tale with the Adams family. The Adams family consists of a small family of 4, visibly pregnant Lila Adams and her husband John Adams. The old matriarch of the family and John's elderly mother, Joanna Adams. And finally Lila's child brother, Robert Adams.
The family has been travelling together ever since their tribe was invaded by the nearby holy Kingdom, sending the family running.
Robert has spent his entire life as a wonderer, looking for a place to call home.
he has never met his parents as they died in the initial invasion, over the next 11 years their small clan dwindled further and further until its just the 4 of them.
today though the family was I high spirits as the have finally arrived at chaos city. A city that is said to welcome anyone no matter the race or beliefs, as long as one follows its rules.
The Adams family gathered quite the attention when they walked up to the main gates.
This is because the Adams weren't human, nor were the orcs, and they certainly weren't leons. The Adams were a thought to be extinct race known as spíritãz.
The spíritãz were a rare semi-corporal race that has the innate ability to pass through physical objects, however the race is known to have a fatal weakness to magic.
Many of the onlookers turned their heads when they finished looking, there are many races on Mira, so some spíritãz is not worth too much attention.
After passing security checks the family walked through the main gates and into the bustling city. Being a peaceful border city of 3 powerful kingdoms, Chaos city has gotten a name for itself as a mercantile city state.
Along the paved main street, many venders called out their merchandise, A tall green Orc was selling fish with a line of Orcs and a couple Leons, a sale was going on with buy 2 get 1 free.
Robert also saw a father and son of Leons in fancy noble clothing going into a nearby tailor shop, its not his first time seeing nobles but its the first time seeing them on the street around commoners.
Finally the family arrived at the city office. A large stone building guarded by many patrolling officers of the three races. The entrance had the flag of Chaos city hung on either side.
Inside the office was fairly quiet, with only a Leon lady at the front desk and a human man shuffling through paper work. Another human sat on a bench at the side waiting as an orc lady was complaining about her son not being accepted at the local magic academy.
The Adams decided to sit on the bench next to the man who was looking dazed and wait.
After a while the women snorted with a huff and walked out, as the lady was noticing the receptionists looking at the guards by the front door.
The human got up and spoke to the receptionist for a while about his restaurant and the Orcs coming in and driving away his other customers. After a talk with the Leon about being allowed to put up no orc signs he left with a satisfied smirk.
"Next!"
Joanna and John stood up after being called by the receptionist, with a little nervousness they walked to the front desk.
"Hello... ma'm, me and my family are new to this city and we would like to apply for residency."
"Okay, sir. Can I get you to fill out these forms, while I inform the housing department. Do you know how to read and write or do you need a scribe?"
"A scribe would be appreciated. Thank you."
With that the Leon called the man over and asked him to be their scribe From their he began to talk through the application forms.
"First of all I will need to know your names, ages and race. Then I will need to know if any of your family is graded." Joanna quickly answered the man and told the man that none of them are graded.
In Mira everyone has a chance to be recognised by the world and graded on how powerful the person is. The scribe clearly can tell that no one is graded but asked as a sense of formality and also to take note of the families character.
"Chaos city bans all forms of assault including: aggressive, thievery and sexual. Anyone caught breaking the rules will be prosecuted by the city guards. Do you understand the rules and agree to comply to the rules during your time in Chaos city?"
"We do."
"aghhhhh!!!"
Just as the scribe got Joanna to sign the document declaring the family as citizens of Chaos city, Lila started to shout loudly in pain. A smokey liquid ran down her legs as her water has just broken.
The scribe noticed what is happening called for a healer and a midwife.
After a couple hours of Lila shouting at the John to shut up, including calling him a bastard for putting her into this much pain, a small smoking child, wrapped in a blanket was placed into her arms.
"Congratulations, mrs Adams for giving birth to a healthy young boy."
Lila stared at the cause of all her pain, but the moment she looked at him all her thoughts were washed away. This... This is my son... She thought to her self staring at the young baby holding onto her dirty dress. He has large blue eyes and fragrant blonde hair with a similar smokey aura around him like all spíritãz have.
He is beautiful.
"Will call him Jordan. To mark our new beginnings."
Little did they know was how special Jordan truly was, because Jordan was reincarnated.
In his previous life Jordan was an architectural historian. Not just any historian though, one that his colleagues stay away from as they say he is obsessed with his work. He just won't shut up about some discovery he has made in Afghanistan or his thoughts on the Aztec culture. He has written hundreds of thousands of papers on the history of architecture and many monuments around the world ranging from the Eiffel Tower to the Colossus.
but it isn't just Architecture that interests him. no, he is also beyond obsessed with films, games and food. in his spare time he writes long article reviews on every meal he has, and every film or book he sees to every level in every game. This would be fine but he is seen everywhere across the internet for his reviews that feels more like a professional paper than something you would find on a trip adviser.
As such he was hated for his reviews as they hardly were read and were often mocked. He was brutally honest in them leading to a handful of places going out of business when the reviews were read. No one wanted to read an essay about how a taco gave you diarrhoea and how much your arse burns.
Jordan was hated by everyone around him, but not enough to kill him, well that's what he thought. One day he received a letter from an anonymous source, curiously he opened the letter to find that it was a threat letter saying that he will regret the things he has said.
Not to fussed about it he just through it away, this is not the first time someone has threatened him so he takes the things as a joke, and carries on with his day. however after an hour he found himself feeling tired and less able to keep himself awake. He thought nothing of it at first, but then he blacked out and fell over.
Next thing he knows is pain all over his body as he is floating in darkness. After what feels like months of darkness, Jordan finally sees a light, then he starts to see giants. No wait they are not giants he just became so small.
When a beautiful dishevelled woman who's producing smoke, looks at him and says something he doesn't understand, that's when it dawns on him.
He has been reincarnated.
